Is it safe to remove On Screen Phone 1.0 - LG Optimus 3D

Hi
I use to uninstall/remove unwanted apps using Titanium Backup. I find an application "On Screen Phone 1.0". Is it safe to remove this app? What does this app do?
many thanks..

yes, it`s safe. This app is using to connect to your phone by someone from technical support if you have a problem.

Before removing I backed it up and removed it. All i could feel is that the touch sense became more harder.. I do not see flying response... I reinstalled it and I could see the difference in screen response..
It may be just coincidence...

Exiting from an unexitable app to get to the OS

Hi guys,
A colleague of mine is currently looking into a win mob device and the security of it.
Upon startup, an applications auto starts that runs fullscreen.
This app does not have any exits buttons etc that allow you to exit the app to get to the underlying OS.
I know nothing of the hardware that it is being run on but need to know any short-cut keys, techniques, etc for breaking out of a "locked" environment that would be much appreciated.
One thing that came to mind was the possibility of rebooting the winmob device but preventing the app from autostarting.... is there anything like a winmob safe mode?
Cheers in advance
You could program one of the hardware buttons to take you to the "today" screen.

Except that would require you to be able to get to the settings in the first place.

There are apps that do safemode but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to install any apps... you can try to connect to your PC and see if ActiveSync will connect and from there you can delete installed apps (assuming the thing popping up shows up on the apps list) and then try to reboot. Otherwise, just hard reset the device ands tart with a fresh OS.
You could make a program or link on an SD card in folder 2577, which should start automatically when inserted into the device.

Phone Completely Messed Up

Okay, heres the problem im having, after the install of Manila 2.1 for my Fuze my phone's completely messed up. When I click anything on my screen it clicks something about 2 spaces down. For example on my WM 6.5 Unlock Screen, if I click a 3 it clicks the 9. I don't know what to do. I can't use my phone and its the same problem for everything: Games, Apps, Home Screen, etc.

So uninstall it. Did you flash manila for a different device?
No, I didn't flash the Manilla, it was a cab file.

Have you tried re-aligning your screen?
Go to Settings/System/Screen and click align screen and follow the directions.

I tried re-aligning but I do it, it moves to the next target thing, I finish and it re-starts the process.
EDIT: When I tap the target nothing happens, if I make a circle around it it goes to the next target but still restarts the process.

Hmm.... I say backup and hard reset. I know no one likes to hear that but I think it's the only (and best way) to fix a problem like this.

How do I backup my games and program? i got like 100+ games and apps. And save files for the games, and how could I remove Manilla 2.1, I tried and it said it wasn't successful.
i recommend sprite backup if u have it, and if u got a micro card with some extra space backup on there as well or transfer to ur computer via activesync and as far as uninstalling manila, have u disabled it from today screen and tried uninstalling again? might be the case....
Now I can't even unlock my phone, i click everywhere on my screen but the WM 6.5 Unlock Slide Bar doesn't click or slide.
I had the exact same problem a couple of weeks ago, screen was not aligned and the calibrate screen program just went round and round. The problem seemed to start when the phone ran flat, it wouldn't charge properly either (it intermittently showed the charging icon and took forever to get any kind of charge). In the end I turned the phone off and charged it over night and the next day the screen was fixed and the battery fully charged. I have not had a problem since.
How do I turn the phone off, I tried last night but I cant get passed the unlock screen and holding the power button doesn't work?

If I were you, I would hard reset then flash back to stock ROM, then see if your issue is resolved (which I am 99% certain it will be).
If you can get it to sync, your all set, if not you'll have to flash via SD card.
Also, obviously removing the battery will turn it off.
Id hard-reset but I got too much apps and games, and what'll happen to my saved game files?

They'll be all gone. That's why backing up regularly is a really good practice.

Either that or you figure out how to uninstall the manila that hosed you up.
Do you install your aps to your SD card or device, if SD card, you're fine, if device, you will lose your data.
You could either have a brick full of games or a phone that is able to have games work again.
Use SKTools for uninstall. If that doesn't work, hard reset.
I got the games and apps and everything on my SD Card, but if I hard-reset itll remove them from my Games and Apps folders and they won't be in my Add/Remove Programs List. Any program back that up? I got SPB Backup but never used it.
SKTools is the only effective way I've found to uninstall Manila.
But, I can't even unlock my phone anymore, I click the Unlock Thing and it doesn't click and my computer doesn't find my phone.
Sync your phone and explore it with your computer... Grab whatever saved data you need... Then hard reset or flash another rom...

Samsung Jet Icon S8003 Touchscreen Issues

So I have a Jet Icon here that has a touch screen malfunction here. Nothing but the actual buttons are working, however the screen does detect my touch as it vibrates whenever I do so. I'm trying to find a way to transfer pictures that I really need to retrieve, so doing a factory reset/system restore is out of the question. Is there any way for me to get the pictures onto my PC? I've plugged in the USB cable to my laptop but it tells me to disable bluetooth which I can't do thanks to this shotty screen. Hopefully there is a way for me to change settings before I go off to the store and request a repair.
Thanks
Do you have and sd card in the phone? You could take it out, but besides that, I think the only way to do it is a wipe.

Way to view/control screen without touching phone?

Dropped my phone down a stairwell and the screen is broken and does not come on. I have a replacement screen coming, but want to be able to take some backups just in case.
Is there a way to view, and control, the screen, without the screen itself working? I've tried Android Screencast but can't get control. Any tips?

TeamViewer is free for personal use and lets you remote in and control the device, you can also try Android VNC Server, but if you cannot see the screen these would be had to setup or open.
I have TeamViewer installed, but see no way to log into the phone without being able to start the app and see the screen.

My only other suggestion would be to setup adb on a pc and pull the files you need through that.
Just to follow up, I was able to find no way to control the phone. Replacing the screen/digitizer was quick and very easy, though. Took less than 10 minutes.
Did you enable the USB Debugging? if so, you can control use adb, otherwise, there is no way.

[Q] Forcefully Recovering Data from a Nexus5

I was using a new Nexus5 and had not enabled backups as was traveling but dropped and broke the screen.. now screen is not working and looks like logicboard/motherboard has some issues too so a replacement LCD also doesnt works(only shows pixels on it)
but the phone is still working as iit syncs and beeps on emails, bbm and whatsapp messages etc.
is there a way to recover data from it.. the most imp data to recover includes camera pics, bbm history & pics and whatspp messages and pics.
Running lollipop 5
The USB debugging is not checked and the screen lock is there so phone gets detected when connected to PC but folders are not visible.. is there any way to overcome this?

I don't suppose you have a custom recovery on your device? If so you can use adb to pull data off

Isn't it possible to install custom recovery if you can boot in bootloader?
Sorry on that question. Offcourse it is.

ADB and bootloader are two different things. But if you can boot into custom recovery, you can use MTP.

The ADB and custom recovery can only work if there is a display.. without that not an option to fiddle anything.. In my humble opinion the solution will be somewhere on the hardware level getting access to the file system

Actually it is. You need to be sure to turn your phone off first. Then manually boot to bootloader (power+volume down button). When you connect the phone to PC it will recognize it.

I guess you can do a adb pull without display.
1. Reboot into bootloader - Requires no display
2. Move to recovery - guess two Vol- press, again requires no display
3. U should be having recovery version of adb once into recovery
4. Use adb pull to get all the files -- Requires no display.
So i guess should be possible to get all the files without display. Ain't i right?
Please let me know if I am wrong or having any trouble proceeding.

Yes,I do it all the time. It works fine.
It sounds like you got a new panel for it. Are you sure that its not a bad panel. Ive gotten a few bad ones off ebay. (they were brand new,but most are from china)
Also inspect the connectors, both board side and panel side, with a bright light and a magnifier. Look for anything like a fragment of glass or plastic or a spec of dirt. Make sure all the pins are where they should be and not bent.. Also inspect the board the same way. Look for any physical damage. Theres likely to be little you can do to fix it,but if you find something came off at least you wont be spinning your wheels wondering why it wont work.
My first instinct is that you may have simply gotten a bad screen.
IF everything looks good, do you have a pattern, pin or PW on it? Just because the screen does not work, does not mean the digitizer does not work. I have a crazy idea, in fact its something I'm making up off the top of my head right now,but it should work. You will need to figure out where the things you need are on the screen. Its easiest if you have Its easiest if you have a working nexus 5 in front of you,so if you can find a friend with one it will help.. If not someone here can probably help you.
If you have a pattern lock on it,its probably easiest. Take the other Nexus, bring up a pattern lock screen. Take your piece of paper and put it over the screen. Run your fingernail around the edges to make a crease. Make a dot over the camera with a felt tip pen. You will use these to align your paper. Now make a dot over each of the buttons for the pattern lock. Also make a dot over each of the soft buttons. (the menu, home and back buttons) THere are a couple ways you might do this. You could make several papers or you could use colored pens.
I suggest colored pens so you dont have to move your paper and can tape it in place. You will want to get your example phone into the same configuration. For instance you obviously need the lock screen type to be the same. Your goal is to turn on usb debugging. Then you can get your files.
So,go through each step with a different colored pen. First bring up the lock screen. If its a pattern, mark the buttons. If its a password, you will need to mark the keys. I would just put a dot in the middle and reference a picture of the keyboard to get the right ones. That should get you in and let the phone connect to your computer so you can copy files. If you had to,you could probably even enable usb developer mode like that y using the drop down menu from the top of the screen.

If the phone is not unlocked,it will wipe everything when he unlocks it.
yeah bro I think you can recover the files.( yes you can in the windows environment ).you need to have the adb.
just in case you know a friend who does own a nexus and if you can burrow that for 30min( just for a reference ) , you will be approximately knowing in which menu the phone does lie.
}power off the device( both in case )
}boot to bootloader ( power button + volume down keys)
}now 2 times volume up key and then power key ( boots you to the custom recovery )
}now connect the device to the PC ( sdk+adb enabled ) you can now use the MTP
}or use the abd commands to pull data into the PC
let me know if that worked...
@wickedrody Do you have custom recovery?
