Not sure what you mean by unable to connect to a computer. When you attempted to install clockworkmod and you removed the battery and held volume up + volume down simultaneously and plugged the USB cable from your computer into your phone, was your G2X recognized as a new APX device?

Phone stuck at AT&T logo

I have cwm on my phone when i boot it it stays at the att logo. I tried clearing data and then flashing the rom zip file and it still stays at the att logo.
I put the phone in DL mode and when using odin packages it says all threads completed. But it does not do anything, i tried 2 odin files.
I did this same exact process on another phone and fixed it fine. That now has the latest rom on it, but this phone is not allow me to complete it.
Search for One Click Unbrick in development.
tried that it said successful but still stuck at logo, i went back into download mode and tried odin but same problem says all threads completed
Use a jig, get download mode, and flash a stock ROM.
so my dl mode is not working properly?
Jig is just the easiest way. If you can get it another way, use that method. But you need to be in download mode to flash a stock ROM. I would recommend kb2, as all captivates can run it.
Also, you might want to check that you have a kernel supported by the rom. Some roms have you flash kernels beforehand, and if you don't your phone gets stuck in a boot loop...

I was going to say that as well, but you beat me to it.
If you want to get to download mode, just turn the phone off (pull the battery, it doesnt matter how you get it off really). Open your 1click, hold both volume keys at the same time, and plug the phone in via usb.
What rom are you trying to flash?

If you can get into download mode, you don't have to use a jig; I find the easiest way is to hold down both volume buttons while plugging in the USB cable. While the phone is off of course.
If you can get into download mode, you should be able to flash to stock with ODIN one-click.

[Q] I flashed S7 4.1 Kernal and phone stuck on Sam logo after reboot

Hey all, been running S7 for a few weeks, decided to flash the 4.1 S7 kernal from weebly site and after flashzip completed, i rebooted from red screen recovery and now it's stuck on Samsung Logo. Cant even get it to go into download mode via USB/up/down...any ideas? Odin will not recognize because of this.
Update: Well I was under the 30 day return policy, so Radio Shack took it back with "Samsung" stuck on that beautiful screen. :0)

Reinstall drivers, you're phone isn't bricked for eternity!
driver problem - and this was caused by flashing an I9000/Captivate kernel.
S7 is available for both I9000/Captivate and Infuse - they require different kernels.
Frustrated, on my x10... :/

[Q] Skyrocket phone stuck onSamsung Logo

Hi all,
My Samsung Galaxy phone is stuck on the Samsung boot up logo. I shut off the phone and it starts up again to the Samsung logo again. I am rooted but still had the stock rom and kernel.
I went to selections and wiped my cache and tried to format it like a new phone. The same thing still happens. I am not sure what else to do. Anyone know how to fix this?
Keep the instructions simple please, if you do know. (I'm a desperate noob)
Thanks for any help.
IF you ever did nandroid than just restore that otherwise.........
Hey first follow this steps to flash any rom. If you flash the rom properly than you can use any stock rom from dev section and use that.
OR
follow this step to go back to stock and it will unroot you.

Same Problem
My problem is that my Rogers SGSII LTE I727R, is stuck on the logo screen, which is flashing the boot screen. When I connect the USB (even after install of Kies and Odin), my PC does not see the device. I am really not sure what to do. I think I set the wrong phone ID when I installed recovery (I think I was supposed to use the T-Mobil SGSII setting), but I selected something else. I then tried to backup the existing ROM, and am now in this unending loop. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Follow these steps it will help you go back to stock. ANd reroot your phone.

Try another USB port or another computer. If you can get the logo you are in a boot loop, the most common form of a soft brick. If you can get into download mode you should be able to fix it.

Another thought is to try turning off firewall and antivirus when using Odin. I've never had my firewall or antivirus block Odin but I've heard it can happen...
Can you get into download mode? Hold the two volume buttons down, then plug the usb cable into your phone, then you should be in download mode.
I cannot get into download mode. I just keep getting the flashing boot screen, with the corresponding vibration.

Don't panic. If you're in a boot loop it's fixable. It's when you get nothing that you need to worry about a hard brick.
Try the button combo mentioned above to get into download mode. If that doesn't work, pull the battery again and try using just the volume down button button--I've heard people say this worked for them when they had a hard time.
If this doesn't get you into download mode, I guarantee you that a jig will work. You can buy one online or make one yourself for about 75 cents and a cut-up data cable (I had a car charger that I didn't need--car charges the phone through USB port, so I cut that one up). Always good to have a jig, at any rate...

I'd assume because the LTE version has to support LTE antenna and software and schtuff.
It is still at least 64MB smaller than the pollux windy ROM-
which should be similar in size.
I have had no luck booting the kernel boot.img contained in the
castor_windy ROM zip file on a sgp51x.

Weird though, since I can't even get back into cwm - nor can I end the bootloop with the power button (I time holding volume-down to get into fastboot and end the bootloop like that).
EDIT: In fact, "fastboot devices" lists nothing when I do that. So, the way I have to end the bootloop is to connect it to my PC via USB, press volume-down when the devices powers down, and then I hear the device connected sound from Windows. If I then do nothing, the bootloop continues after a while. If I issue "fastboot devices", I get nothing. Yanking out the USB cable shuts the device down.
So strange.

I saw the bootloop as well.
I went back to doomlords rooted stock kernel with CWM.
Then reflashed one of my earlier stock ROM backups.
Out of habit one of the first things I do with new HW
is to take a few full backups from the recovery after
the device is rooted and has a custom recovery.
The unusual thing with the Sony devices is that the recovery
shares the kernel image - so you have to pay attention
to both the kernel version and the ROM version.

Make sure to hold the tiny red button at least until it buzzes 3 times. Make sure you're not plugged in while doing this. This basically just turns the tablet off. Then I hold up volume while plugging in to my computer. Just look around on the forums/google for any SGP511 or SGP512 ftf file.

Alright, thanks a million. I couldn't find a ftf specifically for the SGP512, but according to this comment a specific SGP511 ftf will work as well.
I'm guessing Flashtool is pretty self-explanatory (it looks pretty straightforward), but if not, I'll be back .

So, I got Flashtool to recognise the device exactly as you said. However, Flashtool didn't have an option for showing/opening ftf files, so I disconnected the device. I then Googled the exact procedure (and felt like an idiot), found it, and wanted to reconnect the device.
No luck. All I get now is a blue light when I press volume-up and connect it via USB. Flashtool recognises nothing. I also turned it back on into the bootloop, pressed the red button, and tried again - no luck. Any ideas?

Phone Stuck in Odin Mode (Help)

I tried flashing Recovery via Mobile Odin app, & now its stuck in every time I try to turn it on. I flashed philiz_touch_6.48.4-klte.zip.tar Someone please Help me to fix this Please. Can it be done from a computer? My phone's stuck saying Downloading Don't turn off!
This is what it says..
Please Help, I don't think its Hard Bricked.. Im Hoping its Fixable!
I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to flash a recovery using Mobile Odin. I am not sure what when wrong (Mobile Odin fault, or I flashed a bad recovery) but either way I was stuck exactly like you are. I recovered by downloading another recovery image and flashing from my PC using Odin. Once I did that the phone booted up normally and I did not lose anything.
I remember reading somewhere that mobile Odin has problems with recoveries. I have never used it but the guy above me us right, Odin on the pc should get you up and running.
First of all Thank you both... Secondly should I try to use a different Recovery version instead of the one I used?
That recovery is fine, just flash it with Odin on the pc and you should be good to go.

I have had to pull the battery while in download mode before, so if Odin doesn't recognize it you should be able to do a battery pull and reboot into download mode.

When I did mine it was always booting to that screen (that you pictured) when I tried to boot the phone. Once there I simply fired up Odin on my PC. The phone connected to Odin as soon as I plugged in the USB. I selected and flashed a good recovery. Once I did that I was able to reboot the phone normally.
Thanks guys, I'm gonna give it a try soon as I get my computer right.
something similar happened to me. I pulled the battery out for 5 minutes. Placed back restarted snd it was fine. I know crazy! !!
