I originally bought my tablet last year. 5 minutes ago while on my tablet, I was turning on bluetooth to edit some photos from my phone(non android) using PicSay Pro on my G-Tablet. My tablet shut down as soon as blue tooth turned on and went into boot loop. I haven't backed up my tablet for a while and most of the apps I had took me a while to get. I just don't feel like reflashing all over again. Should I take it to Sears with my warranty and get an Asus Transformer? I bought a 2 year warranty on my tablet. I should be able to get refunded $379.99 that I paid last year. I actually own two g-tablets. Don't ask me why? One was originally going to be used by my mom and sister at home and the other one for me at school.
Anyone have any experience with the Asus Transformer?

PPS. Those 5 minutes ago are only relevant to the 5 min after I noticed it went into boot loop, not that I was impatient waiting for the tablet to boot.
Have you tryed booting into CWM recovery and wiping the cache. Works most of the time without having to do a Wipe Data.
I actually did a fix permission which fixed it. It was taking forever though to fix permission. I thought it was going to freeze. In my past experiences, when I had to reflash, wiping cache or fixing permissions was not enough to fix it. Still though, I am pondering the idea of getting an Asus Transformer. It would only cost me like $20 more to get it. I have been wanting to try Honeycomb for some time now.
Anyone else thinking the same thing?

My Transformer has the same issues as everyone else; it's extremely laggy, apps crash, etc. But I also have this thing where every once in a while, if I click on something, my screen will go white with a line at the bottom and freeze. I have to restart the tablet to get it working again. I read through a lot of different threads and couldn't find anything. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I can't find any causes/solutions online. Any ideas?

I've had the same issue but haven't seen it in a couple days. I was told to cold boot it to solve the problem. After doing that, I haven't seen it again, but I haven't used it as much.
I am having the same issue. Started last night. Froze up first then a bit later went to white screen then rebooted. Today it froze up again...no white screen this time but could not access settings...the icon for settings was there but nothing else. Happen after reboot again...shut it down after that till now. Had been working fine. UPDATE is needed badly...I also have the Acer a700, that has been great so far...much better than this one.
Happened once to me too, i rebooted, and it has not happened since.

Haven't had the white screen return yet but I have had a recurring issue with freezing. Tablet was working last night when I put it down...this morning there was no internet connection. Went to settings to turn on wifi and it froze, just like before, only the settings logo and the word settings were visible. Received a message about the program not responding, my options were to close down or wait for program. When I got the white screen before it happened just as described above.
Here is the thing, installed the 9.4.5.26 20120720 firmware update earlier last night...I was hoping that was the fix for this issue but no such luck.

I had a freezing issue only once.
I installed and used an app that ran in compatibility mode.
It started portrait and I think there was no landscape mode at all.
But I tried to turn the tab for that mode and that was that...
Crashed.
So maybe check for running apps that are not compatible ?
My unit had a burning smell come out of the speaker. Memory has been running consistently high 560 - 690 ram. Now I just got the "white screen of death".
Unit is going back for a replacement.
I have been having the same problem. The past couple of freezes occurred whil using google chrome. I have decided to send it back for a refund (thank you Amazon!)
Too bad, I had anticipated the arrival of this tablet for so long.
I returned my first one for tv snow but i did notice that you can wait it out 15seconds or so. Its almost like it is coming out of a deep sleep coma

I really like Andoid, I currently have a Galaxy S3 phone and I don't have any problems. I really wanted an Android tablet and with the higher resolution the Infinity seemed like the one to get. I have had it for a month and I think this purchase is one of the worst I ever made. With the keyboard and accessories I have around $1000 invested in a tablet that only works part time. It crashes at least once a day while doing different tasks. Just now it was just sitting there on the locked screen and the screen went to all white. Holding the power button didn't do any good and I had to use the reset button. I feel like I wasted my money and I don't know if I should avoid Asus products or if Android tablets suck, the problem might even be with Jelly Bean. I don't like Apple at all but I really wish I had bought an iPad.
this has happened to me three times in the last day, and each time while i tried to play an MP3 and read a Kobo book at the same time. (don't get me started on why a $500 tablet can't play music and display text AT THE SAME TIME. what the hell).
i'd start the track, load up kobo, and BOOM: white screen. i think i know why: all my music was in internal storage. for the hell of it, i moved all my tunes to the microSD card. and no more white screen, i can read and listen to tunes at the same time.

I've been having this happen a lot. Essentially, I have two things happen:
1. In some app (Firefox, Redfin (we're house hunting), etc) and click something. Tablet freezes. Click something again, and it resets. The next thing you see is the black screen w/ Asus logo.
2. Same as above, but first you get a full white screen for ~10 seconds. THEN it reboots and you see the black screen w/ Asus logo.
It happens at least once an hour under heavy use of the tablet (lots of app switching, browsing the web, etc).
I have:
1. Cold booted.
2. Upgraded to JB.
3. After upgrading to JB, I reset cache and everything *multiple* times before installing all new apps.
Is this a known issue, or are the few people complaining about it just F'd?
I am seeing this too. Not sure what else to do with this issue?, Exchange? I want to believe this is software, but where does that leave me?

I have this issue under Jelly Bean, but never had it happen under ICS. If you are in the same boat, an exchange will likely not help. Your best bet is either to put on a different firmware, or get a different unit all together (ie, not Asus).

The problem is that Asus decided to use a cheap nand chip that has slow i/o speeds which causes the lag. It's not a problem with android. Have a look at a note 10.1 if you want to see a lag free tablet.
Still, I flashed a new rom, and its much improved. And no white screens so far with a few hours of use.
White screen is a known issue with JB, it's not hardware issue. We just have to wait for another update from Asus. They promised to release a new one soon to address, keyboard, wifi and camera issues, but did not mention about white screen issue. We just have to wait and see. If white screen issue is bothering you too much, just down grade back to .30.

i'm getting this white screen with heavy use - sometimes a couple times a day. never had the problem with ICS. definitely a post-JB thing. it's gotta be a software issue not a hardware problem. a fix will come. in the meantime.....

Everything worked fine with the occasional bootloop that was easy to fix. One day, my tablet started to open and shut apps by its self and scroll from the right to the left on the screen or on whatever I had open at the time. In a desperation, and partially the tablet clicking wipe all, I lost all hope of getting my tablet back until today. I finally got it to charge and got chromi-x on it from a micro sd card, but the tablet still presses things randomly by it's self and I can't figure out what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

I had that issue with both a Palm Pre phone and the my TF700T. In both cases the problem was h/w and required repair/replacement of the digitizer by the vendor.

Really? How much would that cost sense I never had a warranty and even if I did. I voided it within the month of buying it. I don't want to spend to much sense I am more than happy to just keep on using my iPad.

Mine was in warranty but based on other postings I've seen, it would most likely minimally be $150 (plus mailing and insurance if desired). You'd have to contact Asus but until they have actually looked at it they probably couldn't cost it accurately.

First of all I would like to thank everyone who took the time to read this.
So about a year ago, I bought an Asus Fonepad 7 Model:K00E. Of course that decision was heavily regretted due to the uncountable bugs and malfunctions due to low manufacturing cost and non existent support from Asus itself. Anyways, so I lived with it.
A month or so after buying it, it fell screen first on concrete floor. And as you expected, the touch screen broke. ONLY the touch screen though. So then I had it replaced.
From then on the real problems began, touch screen would suddenly freeze when connected to charger, keypad would type on its own occasionally, and SD card reader no longer worked. Basically they screwed it up even more. Oh and when I changed the screen and made a factory reset due to thinking they were software related, it booted and said android is upgrading (like when you wipe dalvik) but if literally upgraded to KitKat.
Anyways, so problems stopped after a while and and came back occasionally. It worked okay for months, then one day when I was restarting it..it didn't boot..literally. Nothing even showed on the screen, it never turned on. It would just vibrate then nothing would happen. When I took it for fix and repair, since there literally no support from Asus themselves, I took it to a third party shop. After a few days I realized that people who worked there didn't know **** and just said it needs a new software.. Then they said the mother board needs to be replaced (which is basically like buying a new one..even the prices are close)
So I want to ask if there is anyway of fixing it or if anyone experienced this and how they solved it.. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give every detail so you'd see the full picture. Thanks in advance, any and all replies are appreciated!

The service centre guys confirmed that the device's motherboard is dead, so I bought a new motherboard and my tab is now working good
Let me start this off by saying that I've never rooted/jail broken before, but honestly I don't know what else I'm supposed to do right now.
Since about last Saturday, my S7 has been crashing. It's extremely hard to replicate, as it can/will happen during anything. Opening an app, crash. Using an app, crash. Get a notification, crash. Reboot after crashing, crash.
I took it Rogers and because of a small crack I have on the screen they refused to help me out. I took it a mobile repair shop and they said they could help me out for $300. They also said something about it possibly being an issue with the motherboard from being dropped, which was two weeks ago, (It didn't freeze or lag at all until last week) which would warrant the hefty price tag.
Problem is, I'm not exactly in a place where I can just throw down $300 to fix my phone. I was just wondering if maybe anyone here had any idea what the issue might be, and if it's worth trying to root it or just scrounging the money together to pay it off.
I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, but I'm at my wit's end here.

First step would be to clear the cache partition from recovery
If that doesn't help, factory reset the phone
If that doesn't help, flash stock using CSC to reset afetr the flash
And if that still doesn't help, it could be a hardware problem like they say from the drop
Just got the phone for 2 days and I have experienced probably 30 instances of the UI freezing, display still on, then after about 30 seconds the screen refreshes and a popup notice along the bottom saying System UI crashed.
A little disappointed and starting to be annoyed

Nothing like that at all. Tried a full reset?
it won't boot up now so no way to reset it. waiting on DOA claim with Gearbest/support ticket logged with Asus.

This issue has been happening to my one, also bought through Gearbest. I dismissed the first time it happened, but that was the first hour into using it. Now one week later, my phone is freezing, bluescreening, and unexpected resetting on itself (even some bootloop issues).
If you get anywhere with yours, I'd like to hear more, it's very inconvenient.
i am posting to asus talk forums and trying to reach support in asus Taiwan for assistance. Asus share firmware and bootloader etc on their website...but I need help to even try and reflash it.
at the moment it boot looped so much it is completely out of power now and in protection state that I can't even charge it anymore.
very disappointed.

Try turn on animations: Accesibility-> Remove Animation

Ok heard back from Asus Taiwan support and they are no help.
Did not suggest any steps to actually troubleshoot or rectify, just suggested to bring to service centre, and as my order was from GearBest they won't fix it in Taiwan under warranty.
Gearbest has offered refund or replacement under DOA warranty tho. Have to go with refund I think. very disappointed with Asus, was hoping to use a Taiwanese brand phone like back in the days of HTC, but I guess Asus isn't there yet.

My UI was crashed when I turn OFF animation using Accessibility-> Remove Animation. Then I turned ON animation back and set animation in developers mode to 0.5x and UI seems to be OK.

Sounds like me...it will eventually bootloop itself to be completely drained of battery and you can't even get into recovery!
Gearbest is good enough to offer replacement or refund of product (I will be out of pocket 10% for GST paid plus original delivery). Expensive for 2 days of playing with a phone...
Are you going to ask for replacement? or refund?

That's good to hear! I'm still working out the issue with their customer service team, I can only demonstrate that the phone is stuck in Recovery Mode Menu.
I'll probably ask for a refund. As much as I was excited to have this phone and I do want a working version of this phone, I think the risk of getting another is too much to deal with.
I have the same problem. I get a blue screen, then it crashes. I also turned Animations on and to 0.5x but it keeps happening. I just contacted Asus.
Thanks for chiming in, my guess is it's a quality issue. My personal experience was i had just done a batch of installing apps, copying over data from USB-C and setting up games, got that system ui not responding msg the whole time I was pushing the phone, the. upon running my first game...that's when it restarted itself a d bootlooped, I could only get into recovery (fast boot) menu, or let it boot loop. Hence my guess is overheating...
i am looking for reports in Asia too where the phone is released. I suspect most ppl just take it back to place of purchase and they swap it out quickly and easily so not much complains yet.
I wonder if some area of the world got a bad batch? There cannot be that many out in the wild at this point and the complaints are really piling up. If this is a problem with the design in general then why did not one reviewer say anything about this? I wonder how much testing goes into any of these things before they are released??
Think I may also have a bad batch phone - this moring it was unresponsive after being on the charger overnight. As in bricked. I've been in touch with Gearbest who are being quite helpful so far, I'm hoping to be able to return the phone under their 45 day warranty scheme.
Anyway, might be wise for potential buyers to pause for a while until the current batch is sold off.

Most online and YouTube reviewers really only use their devices for a day or two so issues might not appear.
Where have you seen/heard of other cases of bootloop/dead battery?
