XDA is for development of new wimo/android based phones. I have been in my tilt forum for 2 years and the culture there(and a few others) has become about saving an old peice of hardware with android or heavily tweaked wimo. I thought this mentality could be carried to the iphone for users who want to save a peice of crap by turning it into android. I see now that most users here are able to afford new phones every year or sooner and do not have the "save my device" mentality, which i understand.
what i dont understand is why this mentality is carrying over to hate towards a forum for a specific phone that already has some development on converting it to the android that is so beloved here.
I think pre conceived notions that there are not intelligent people who end up with an iphone and can port it into something useful, mixed with a fear of a thread running away into icrap, make this idea impossible.
either way it is imposable so this discussion should be closed

why cant we abuse the hardware? i hate iOS i like the hardware over the tilt
there is already good development on android for the hardware.
like i said before a jailbreak forum would be stupid, but if it is moderated to android development...

What a great idea. It sure would help clean up the forums. I see 3-8 posts a week complaining about the iPhone I wish people would just give it a rest. The iPhone Did this the iPhone did that, guys just shut up you spend more time talking about the iPhone than you do about Android and Wm. If you want to talk about the iphone go to an iphone forum. For the record I am not an apple fan boy by far but I do not hate the iPhone. In fact I'm glad it was made. If it wasn't I wouldn't be holding my nexus one right now tryping all of this.

If you have an iphone forum, then you may as well introduce any other phone on the market...no thanks.

If it goes ahead, may I suggest the forum description contains "Please don't mock the aflicted"

I am really into android on my tilt. the same processes can be done on the iphone now...not every phone on the market.

There are plenty of Icrap forums out there and they are very good i just don't feel the need to tarnish the reputation of XDA with an Icrap FORUM, it sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.
Joking aside the thing is every one has there opinion and they like the device they have and i respect that so asking the question is valid, But do you think if you went to a dedicated Ipone forum and asked for an Wm and android section what would the reply be

They'd had Froyo running on the iPhone 3G for a bit now.

I was HOPING that by creating a forum here dedicated to android on the iphone that we could help fellow xda users who are above the icrap. I hate iphone as a package but i got one for free and there seems to be a potential to turn a pos into a nice dev project.

that was my intent the whole time. i dont think half the responders even read the post, just freaked out about iphone

They have their own forums, and since there's not that much activity, why spread it out making things harder to find?

the only ANDROID iphone forum i have found is in italian. the others are all the ones people are afraid of, icrap...so yes we dont need another icrap one, but android would be cool and fit *my* idea of this site

[Q] Is the Note where everyone is going?

My understanding is that basically everyone in this forum is migrating and upgrading to the Note. Are there any reasons for even considering anything else or staying with the obsoleted Infuse? The Note just seems like such an awesome phone so it would be great seeing all great users in this forum going there.

What dani said is exactly right. Who cares? Don't be a follower! You are the one paying for the phone so get what you want. Who cares what everyone else is getting. I just used my upgrade for what i wanted and got a Atrix 2. I use it and my Infuse. Why buy two samsung phones that are similar when you can have two totally different devices? Do what you want, dont worry about everyone else.

Loving this place :) i9003 forum is awesome

I own both the phones i9003 and i9100g. The forum and people here in i9003 place are really awesome. It gives a very homely feeling here. The developments are going on really fast, guys support you here no matter what. I am really missing this environment in the i9100g forum. The main difference between these forums are the members and their spirit. Here in i9003 are spending their sweat to make this device really better in all possible ways and turn good whatever this device or platform has negative things as compared to some better phones. While in i9100g place people are sweating in fighting out whether this phone is crap or not and just looking towards the negativity which the hardware platform has created and no one is pushing for perfecting the device.
I am really thankful to all the developers for perfecting the device, senior members for helping out people like me and all the members for keeping that fighting spirit fabric very strong throughout the forum.

Absolutely agree about i9003 forum. People here are so understanding

I know the feeling. Got shocked at how serious the people over at the sgs2 section. People get easily pissed, people asking the same question without reading, even codeworx was pissed with some users over there because of people always complaining about battery life even if cm9 is still experimental blah blah blah. Here, it seems to be peaceful and quiet

Of course not. Samsung, with it's IMMENSE marketing budget/strategy will again remain the largest seller of mobile phones this year. Without any doubt.
That being said, sincerely hope a more premium S5 will be released as the current one does not make me giddy in any way whatsoever

Hello everyone,
There's a huge amount of off-topic posts even if not declared with "OT" around threads in this XDA section.
So, I thought it's best to give a dedicated place where to talk about everything, hopefully this will reduce OT posts around forums, making them a better place for us as there should be less junk while trying to find what we need.
Now with that said, this doesn't mean that there are no rules in this thread, all of XDA rules still apply.
Flaming and the belittling of other users (of any title) will not be tolerated and dealt with harshly by the moderating team.
This should be a fun place for us all, to have a chat and a general vent of frustrations.

i got tired of all this roms backups and restore and lose data and wifi. once you instal a rom always there must be a weakness points even if tamirda's phoienx once you add (some) exposed moudles you will face system ui crash and reflash your rom. so in my opinion the official fw is better than custom. [Discusion]

maybe but I hate tw and it's far from perfect in my opinion
