Greetings!
I just bought a ChaCha last week, and totally loved it. The only problem I'm facing is that after using it for 3-4 days, my Accounts & Sync wouldn't sync anything, it just stopped working and now nothing is updated, my emails, facebook etc. nothing.
I'd appreciate if somebody who has faced a similar problem before would help me out. I honestly don't want to do a factory reset to get things working.
Regards,
Fahd

Dear All Sensation Owner,
I bought Sensation the first day it came out. And I went back Tmobile store for exchanged due to this issue. (which means this is the second phone)
Both phones have the same issues: Keep restarting itself!
My phone may restart for about 5~10 times a day.
It happens whenever I'm quitting a program (ex: Facebook, Contacts, MAP..etc) and it just restart itself to a white background with HTC logo screen. (T-mobile welcome screen "stick together" does NOT show up at this situation)
I'm wondering if anyone having the same issues with me. This has bothered me way too much! Should I exchange for a new one or just need patient for the update
Thanks!!!
The 5-10 reboots per day is not normal. Mine rebooted once in the 7 days that I've had it.
What you are experiencing is a soft reboot. Try factory resetting, if it doesn't help, by all means take it back.
i think this is just an Android OS problem , my brother has a THUNDERBOLT on verizon and he gets random reboots all the time ,same for his wifes droid x , hers is phucked , it restarted three times in three hours when i was by their house the other day and his once , my sensation has rebooted itself three times in two weeks so i guess i cant complain
Your phone isn't rebooting, it is Sense that is rebooting. The app or apps that you are using are using up too much memory to keep Sense running in the background. Instead of not allowing you to use your apps, your phone is freeing up space by disabling Sense. Try using the back key to exit out of applications instead of the home key. This kills the app rather than leaving it active in the background.
Either way, I'm not saying there isn't something wrong with your phone, there very well may be. I haven't had that issue at all, but two phones with the same exact issue leads me to think it is, atleast in part, a user-caused issue. Good luck man.

Just before the update I got that too whenever I go to friend stream but after the update to 2.3.4 everything started working fine again. maybe a reset to factory setting will fix it?
I've done a factory reset for this, and it doesn't help. I'm guessing that sense shuts down to conserve battery life when you are using other apps.
I've had this issue from day one. It happens (from what I've read) because some other apps are using up the available memory and when it runs out sense kills itself to free up some. It really is quite annoying. What helped me a bit was getting rid of Widgets I never use especially the sense embedded ones.
Yeah, when you're running low on memory Sense just stops and reloads when you're done with the app you are using. Quite annoying indeed.
I've had 2 Sensations so far and both of them have done this from Day 1, the 2.3.4 update didn't cause the issue. There isn't much I've found that will help it except for running a 3rd party launcher.
I have this annoying problem too and I can see an error in logcat which says something like "timeline error". I think this is the cause of the problem.
This is definately a software problem. I didn't have any crash on GoLauncher Ex so far but the Sense launcher crashes several times a day!
Get this fixed HTC, it is very annoying!
I am using an unrooted edge and have a problem. Shot a minute video and then tried to email it. As soon as I tried the phone sent a message that the storage was low. It suddenly dropped 50mb. I deleted the email which was in the to be sent folder and I deleted the video and the memory didn't come back. This is the second time this happened. Several months ago I had the same problem and had to reset the phone to get the storage right. I really hate to have to install all the apps again and this time I am asking for help?
Any ideas? I have read that there is an HTC email memory bug? But couldn't find a fix or not sure that this is the same problem.
Thank
Bob

An EDGE??? Well this is the EVO Shift forum. But you can check and make sure your Email, and attachments are set to go the SD Card. Also you can go into the actual app under settings and clear Cache, and clear Data. Then reboot, see if that helps.

How the heck did you get the HTC Edge?? that phone isn't out yet and will be the 1st quad core phone i believe
After updating my sensation to android 4.0.3 with sense 3.6, every time after restarting phone i wait too long, and on screen writes: optimizing applications. Is it normal?
Yes, it is. It happens on mine too. Not a lot of apps are optimized for ICS yet... I believe that is why that loading thing shows whenever we boot our devices. I am not sure--- but it happens to everyone. You're not alone.
^LMFAO
Android is building dalvik cache that is why you get the message, not because its "optimizing" them (google want to make "building dalvik cache" sound cool so they say "optimizing applications)

I would like to add that since I updated to ICS, my phone is running like a dog with 3 legs. Sooooo laggy and the battery now lasts about 6 hours then needs recharged. Anyone else finding this problem??

I've found that the device is a lot faster now than before. Apps are nice and don't lag (except Instagram) and start up really quickly. The battery thing... I don't think it uses a lot more. Maybe, but I am not sure. Did anyone notice that you can't go off and get the battery widget on HTC Hub? I kept looking for it and I couldn't find it.

You want him to die because he laughed at you?
Anyway, this only seems to happen on stock roms.
Mine stopped doing the optimizing thing after I checked fastboot

Having the same problem here - it seems to be caused by a process called "media" that after the phone boots keeps crashing and restarting. If I kill this process the phone acts normally and I get my usual day usage out of the battery.
Just need to find a fix for this "media" process - might try a factory reset later.

*sigh* its been said 100 times that fastboot has nothing to do with that, restart your phone and you'll see it

I have the exact same problem, I use ARHD but it seems to affect all Sense 3.6 ROM's I've tried including stock. Can you tell me what SD Card you have and do you have a lot of music, photos etc on it?
The issue doesn't occur on Sense 4.0 ROM's.
My workaround was to just disable Media starting automatically using System Tuner (needs root).
Thanks.

Wow. Very similar to me.
I have a 32GB SanDisk Class 4.
700 Music tracks and 200 photos.
This doesn't seem coincidental. Where did you purchase your card from and around what time period?
Amazon, about august last year.
I tried a factory reset last night and formatted the sd card, put no media on it but again that process is restarting again this morning. Its supposed to be migrating the media database... But there's no media for it to migrate...
Might try a different sd card tonight.
Maybe someone could split these posts off in to another thread to see if there's others with the issue?

There is an app called rescan media root that allows you to manually disable or enable this media scanner service. Search Xda for the apk. It saves time, battery and having to factory reset. :3

Okay. Yeah. My phone does use more battery as well. What does that Media process do anyway and are there any negative effects to just plain killing it?

Guess this is one of the bugs for Sense 3.6 ROMs. Btw, I factory reset my phone after the update. Still experiencing the annoying Mail app bug. And whenever I open the Music app, my phone (the Sensation XE one) automatically checks for new updates for my phone. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

It drains the battery as it keeps the phone in a wakelock so it doesn't sleep properly.
I've created a thread for it with the relevant posts.

Same thing here!!
It doesnt happen when i disable bluetooth and push mail.
Need to find out which one is causing the shutdowns.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
Sounds like a hardware issue. Either battery is bad, or the maincard. Often water/shock damage.
Try a Anker battery, it wont set you back many dollars anyways.

I had random shutdowns - There seem to be a few threads around about it, some suggest repartitioning and reformatting the SD card (which seemed to work for me) and some go for some odd solutions like sticking a bit of card at the base of the battery to push it against the pins a bit more solidly.
