As many of you probably know there is an issue with the DFT HSPL and the Mango update resulting in the device no being able to be detected in bootloader mode (one line on the tri-colour screen). Is there a fix available alredy or not yet? Because I can't flash the official mango update for my Vodafone Trophy because of the abovesaid reason. Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.

probably the easiest method will bee having a ffu file to use with the updatewp or in alternative the cab.pks file with the spl
these are the files signed by ms to be deployed using updatewp

I've received the HTC update for Windows Phone through Zune yesterday, update that contains SPL and radio, phone rebooted twice immediately after the update and still no good bootloader, so no luck with that.
thats all bad news.. for now we are stucked with this problem

The only way I see after all this attempts is directly flashing mermoy with JTAG

I used this after testing custom spl/radios and ofcause **** can happen
20 euro + 6.90 euro and your phone is fixed for German people
(it worked for me and got my phone back in only 2 day's )

Correction:
Never use Custom ROMs without reading the forum or read the chef instructions first. If people are too lasy to read dont mess with your phones.

And if you want to test/dump/build/cook be prepared to get a bricked phone

I had use DFT mango coustem Room till the mango update comes in market from microsoft
use same DFT program 1- DFT_RSPL_WP7FG1_LAUNCH / 2- DFT_HSPL_WP7FG1_INSTALL """but select the 1 option""" then install orgenal shipped ROM (old V. WP 7) to get back the orginal HSPL
then it be easy to update to WP 7.5 by Zune
(my HD7 worke fine and normal update by Zune)

If you are going to using stock or shipped ROM you will not needs Gold card "only if your phone is louked then you needs gold card)

Is Spark the codename for Trophy? Haven't heard of HTC Spark...
It is very simple, disconnect your phone from the USB cable. Turn him off. Press VOL down holding him and press start holding it. Then you will see this color mode with SPL version, connect USB to the phone, new driver for sync will be installed, after that start the firmware update..
But i still get a error message: Wrong Vendor ID, so we need to wait for some HSPL or SPL.

Have you installed the zune software? You need it for the drivers.

Edit: To be more specific: I get the "connection error". They tell me to check my usb-cable. I don't understand what's wrong. When I return to normal mode and connect my phone to Zune, it is recognised....

thank you for this page. This website has given me the only info I can find with this phone.
I want to update my firmware as I can only have one apn active, some options are not there that I am sure should be.
To get the driver to work, you need to install ActiveSync. Zune did not install the driver needed for the firmware update.
I followed the process through. Got to the stage of it being updated, then recieved an error "This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer NBF file"
I have a htc spark and im sure its an old version, I have been using it for dev and testing..
any ideas or possibly a different firmware image to try?

You cannot un-brand your Phone with this rom. If you have a Vodafone Trophy it will not update.

i got wrong vendor ID as well, i am the vodafone one, but flashing the vodafone rom with no problem...
How did you do it? I and everyone I spoke gets the wrong vendor id with the Vodafone branded Trophy rom.

I am just not sure about updating my HTC Trophy 7 Vodafone with this ROM. Is there any knowledge on how Microsoft will apply updates to Windows Phone 7?
So far, I have read on several places on the web that, in case of a provider modified phone as mine, the provider has to confirm the Microsoft updates for their custom (provider) ROM. I wonder if it is the ROM contacting the Microsoft searching for updates (with or without IMEI information, Vendor ID etc.) or if Microsoft just pushes the updates toward the active Windows Live accounts.
Couldn't there be a chance that if we, somehow, apply an "unofficial" update for a device (like the EU ROM for a Vodafone device) that we will not be able to receive further updates anymore?
Sorry for posting this here, it is just that I think this could be possible and I couldn't find any documentation on this on the web.

With my Nexus One, was only a matter of time at first. After that period of time of nobody knowing anything, well, you know the rest, everybody have their devices rooted and with cooked and stock unbranded roms, and all work very fine.
I suppose that with WP7 is only a matter of time too, so no worry about it. Enjoy your beautiful new phone, and when an update comes officially from MS, then we will see.
P.S. I'm looking forward to the arrival of my Trophy, probably on monday or tuesday. I believe that I could have it today but...

I'm trying to maintain a jailbroken phone through the Mango update via the following method:

My only trouble, is that I haven't been able to update my Diagnosis app.
It's on 0.922, which will not allow the xml files to be found.
I have tried uninstalling and then hitting "##634#" but each time, it only brings back the same 0.922 app.
I am also unable to find it in the marketplace.
I am currently running OS 7.0.7392 - and Zune tells me there are no further updates (not sure what 7932 is?).
Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. I was on 7390 with 0.922 and couldn't update it, so just updated to 7392 and it's still on 0.922 (have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it with no luck either).
There are a few other solutions I've yet to have tried, but it's not looking likely so far...
Note: In regards of this "If your phone is updated to 7392 with the OEM registry information (ATT-US) deleted, the Diagnosis won't be updated." - I think I had deleted the registry while on 7390 (I'm with 3, not AT&T), but I'm not sure how to re-add it. Re-flashing maybe? Though it'll be a pain adding everything back.

I'm from Australia, so my phone was bough on Optus, but is now unlocked on 3.
I can't remember exactly but it's something to do with the SamsungRegistry tool I used when first unlocking my phone. I vaguely remember reading a STRING value and then overwriting it as a blank value.
I was following a guide very closely but now I can't remember what it was for so I can't find it to undo it.

I remembered it seems like HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\MobileOperator, maybe you can have a try.
it is heard that if the WP7 updated to mango, the Diagnosis will be upgraded too. I don't know whether it is true. Or you can flash another ROM, such as DTMJJ6, I'm using it and it works well.

That sounds great! Do you think you'd be able to give a link to where you got the November rom from? And if you can a tutorial on how to flash it. Those two would be very much appreciated as I can't seem to find them (or don't know what to search for)

i've got the samsung omnia w gti8350 and i installed the latest update including kk2, but now i havn't the phone either unlocked nor i have a backup.
i downloaded the full mango build 7720 rtm and the wp7 update cab sender. when i wanted to "update" actually downgrade, the anser was no cab was required. the phone doesn't let me downgrade to mango!
is there a possible answer how i can downgrade it or how i can uninstall kk2 without having a backup?

I'd ask what you did with your backup, but it's probably too late for that now.
You need a ROM flashing tool, not a CAB sender (which is used for updates, not full ROMs). I know that ROM flashing utilities exist for the first-gen Samsung phones, and would assume that either they can be used with second-gen or you can find one that works. The tool used for HTC (like I have) is called ROM Update Utility, commonly abbreviated RUU.
You may want to look in device-specific parts of the forum. Also, just for the record, do you mind posting your firmware version info (from Settings -> About -> More Info)? People are constantly asking how to check for the KK2 version, and it would be good to have a number I could point to and say "if it's at least this high, you need to downgrade."

I don't know; ROM flashing isn't my thing (I'm still on a stock ROM). I strongly suggest you go look at the Omnia [7] forum, if you can't find an Omnia W forum, and ask how to re-flash the ROM. Alternatively, you could try searching (using Google/Bing, since the forum's search tool is down). You could also look at the XDA-Devs wiki; a lot of this sort of info is stored there.

This ROM is from Poland, unfortunately it's the only ROM I could find for your phone. Anyway this shouldn't give you any kind of problem.
How to flash:
- Extract the archive
- Open the folder Downloader and run WP7_Downloader_Ver_3.8_for_Secure_and_SMD_change_Parttiton_and_Support_Retail_binary.exe as Administrator
- Click on PDA and choose PDA_I8350XXKK4_REV0.nb0
- Click on CSC and choose CSC_I8350PLSKK4.csc
- Click on Phone and choose PHONE_WEMBLEY_16002402_open_KK1_rev00_RC1.bin
- Click on Eboot and choose EBOOT_I8350XXKK4_REV0.eb0
- Put your phone in Download Mode (Turn it off and press Volume Up Key + Camera Key + Power).
- Plug in your phone, wait until the program finds the phone and then click Start
If the program doesn't find the Phone, then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers: Download HERE

i have samsung omnia w with frmware v7720 and diagonisis ver 1109 in which the window break method does not get applied...so for this reason i want to downgrade my phone...is possible to use windows support tool for downgrading to earlier windows ver i.e. NoDO because i dont have any backup of it so i cant even reterive it with zune

It seems not to work! Same problem as before, no way out! I think samsung provided with kk2 an update that blocks all possibilities to "hack" this phone.
2nd gen devices (like Omnia W) can't be downgraded to NoDo because they didn't even exist before Mango!
Anyway 7720 is the OS version, not the firmware.
You can always try the ROM that I posted above and see if you're able to apply WindowBreak on it

Well, my Samsung Omnia 7 also received KK2 update which blocked the possibility to use WindowBreak, but I was able to flash even a custom ROM, so I don't really think that the problem is realted to the firmware.
Are you sure that you're in bootloader mode?
You can also try the procedure on another computer, but I don't know what else I could suggest you, because I didn't have any problem on my Omnia 7!

Are the bootloader mode and the download mode the same? First you mentioned i've to go to the download mode (vol. up + cam. + power).
If that's true i am in the right mode.
I'm interested in downgrade my Omnia W too. I found this. I hope that it helps, but i think, that it's only for upgrade...

Since you'd need to unlock the bootloader before you could install it, a custom firmware for gen2 phones isn't yet a useful project...
So i tried it with later drivers and Poland Firmware and it seems that it doesn't works.. Still the same firmware.
@WooDoo.CZ: don't you forget to ckeck the checkboxes from PDA, Phone, Eboot & Phone Boot. Unless you check these, i think it won't send any files to your wp7 device...

i tried now what you found. For me it didn't seem to work! Error: md5 checksumm not valid for both of the roms mentioned before in this threat.

I downloaded one of the KK4 ROM's and one of the KL5 ROM's. I don't have an Omnia W, so can't say for certain, but I dumped both ROM's and I can say with certainty close to 100% that OmniaW KK4 ROM can be Interop Unlocked and KL5 ROM's can't be Interop Unlocked.
There may have been some uncertainty about the lettercodes. Some people say that everything from KK2 and higher will not work. But they say that because of my warning in this thread. But I specifically stated that lettercodes for other devices (not Omnia7) could be different.

About the roms:
Samsung Letter codes
The PLS is a polish rom and the SER is a russian rom. You should verify that the languages that you want are present. Or else you could always add languages with cab update packs. Also the network-settings will not be a problem I think, because the network-settings-tool from Samsung can probably solve that.
BUT: FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Dont you have the first backup that zune made when you were updating the phone for first time after buying.?
What was the previous version then? Did u try hacking that?
When did you buy your phone(month/year)?
If somebody uploads omnia w restore files(for kk4 which is windowbreakable)

Restore Points are encrypted with device-specific keys. You can't use them for any phone except the one they were made from.
The location where Zune creates them is "%localappdata*\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update\" and if you have Volume Shadow Copies enabled, you can check the "Previous Versions" feature to see if you might have an older one still lurking on your hard drive...

I've got my 8X ugraded(auch in Germany), and the Firmware revision is now:1532.20.20003.401. My device is an unlocked blue 8x. Have u every try to search firmware ugrade manually?
I had to resort to downloading and installing it manually. Seems there are some bugs in Microsoft's OTA process.

is your 8x an netzbetreiber-branding one? i got an no branding one from getmobile... if you sign a phone with netzbetriber, it may cause the delay of the release of the firmware upgrade.
No simlock no branding. called the Htc service yesterday and they tried me to believe that the Firmware is from Microsoft and that they can't so anything for me. I can't believe that they call this service.

I've got some offline RUU update software(RUU_ACCORD_U_APO_00_HTC_Europe_2.00.401.03_1.11b.32.19.23_2_15.42.32_RETAIL_ENC_RELEASE.exe). Do you want to try this? I share it in a Netdisk

I have a Verizon which is unlocked for other providers yet dialling ##778# and entering 00000 I cannot edit my M.IP default profile. Will security unlocking the device fix this?

3.Run the RUU program
4.your phone may restart at the 0% progress, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE CABLE! THE FLASH PROGRESS WILL START AFTER THE RESET!!
5.Wait until the RUU Program display "Congratulations ! Your ROM update is now complete. Your PDA Phone is ready to use" then click Finish button
P.S. :
1. I've got some pictures of the flashing progress and i cannot upload pictures in XDA. You can sent me a message in XDA-Developers forum and give me your mail address and than i can just sent the pictures to you.
2. I have got a software to help you to recovery your 8X from UEFI Error. i can sent it to you via email too

Sorry, I have never tried cause i got an unbranding one... Apart from Nokia Lumia 920, we can download all kind of firmwares such as branding or unbranding ones from NaviFrm. No one have released a branding firmware for 8x. so, if the unbranding firmware cause your device problems, you cannot flash you 8x back to branding firmwares. I suggest u wait for several months and get feedback from other user, if they flash their branding device with a unbranding firmware
DO NOT flash roms named RETAIL!

No, Windows Phone 7 (and 8) are completely different o/s' than Windows Mobile 6.x. The software will not run. You'll have to look for a new version of the TomTom software in the WP8 Store (or WP7 Marketplace).
