Is Spark the codename for Trophy? Haven't heard of HTC Spark...

It is very simple, disconnect your phone from the USB cable. Turn him off. Press VOL down holding him and press start holding it. Then you will see this color mode with SPL version, connect USB to the phone, new driver for sync will be installed, after that start the firmware update..
But i still get a error message: Wrong Vendor ID, so we need to wait for some HSPL or SPL.

Have you installed the zune software? You need it for the drivers.

Yes I have. Do I need to start up Zune?
Edit: To be more specific: I get the "connection error". They tell me to check my usb-cable. I don't understand what's wrong. When I return to normal mode and connect my phone to Zune, it is recognised....

thank you for this page. This website has given me the only info I can find with this phone.
I want to update my firmware as I can only have one apn active, some options are not there that I am sure should be.
To get the driver to work, you need to install ActiveSync. Zune did not install the driver needed for the firmware update.
I followed the process through. Got to the stage of it being updated, then recieved an error "This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer NBF file"
I have a htc spark and im sure its an old version, I have been using it for dev and testing..
any ideas or possibly a different firmware image to try?

No not all. It doesn't work on mine (got the wrong vendor ID). Waiting for another.

You cannot un-brand your Phone with this rom. If you have a Vodafone Trophy it will not update.

i got wrong vendor ID as well, i am the vodafone one, but flashing the vodafone rom with no problem...

How did you do it? I and everyone I spoke gets the wrong vendor id with the Vodafone branded Trophy rom.

How did U do it because when "Wrong vendor id" appears flashing stops and phone reboot automatically

I am just not sure about updating my HTC Trophy 7 Vodafone with this ROM. Is there any knowledge on how Microsoft will apply updates to Windows Phone 7?
So far, I have read on several places on the web that, in case of a provider modified phone as mine, the provider has to confirm the Microsoft updates for their custom (provider) ROM. I wonder if it is the ROM contacting the Microsoft searching for updates (with or without IMEI information, Vendor ID etc.) or if Microsoft just pushes the updates toward the active Windows Live accounts.
Couldn't there be a chance that if we, somehow, apply an "unofficial" update for a device (like the EU ROM for a Vodafone device) that we will not be able to receive further updates anymore?
Sorry for posting this here, it is just that I think this could be possible and I couldn't find any documentation on this on the web.

With my Nexus One, was only a matter of time at first. After that period of time of nobody knowing anything, well, you know the rest, everybody have their devices rooted and with cooked and stock unbranded roms, and all work very fine.
I suppose that with WP7 is only a matter of time too, so no worry about it. Enjoy your beautiful new phone, and when an update comes officially from MS, then we will see.
P.S. I'm looking forward to the arrival of my Trophy, probably on monday or tuesday. I believe that I could have it today but...

These roms bring your phone basically back to factory with os version 7004. Its useful if you have a focus in demo mode or just wanna downgrade to 7004 to do the chevron unlock and upgrade. But to answer youre question, in order for the program to see your phone, you have to put ur phone in download mode.
Turn off phone, hold camera, volume up, n power then connect to pc. Make sure you have samsung drivers installed. If you have windows vista or 7, if drivers are not there it will automatically install from windows update.

Just found your answer after I finished flashing my focus and want to give a little tutorial for people who don't know how to do it. But thanks anyway
And yes, I bought my focus from ebay, already updated in 7390, but I want to unlock my device. Have been struggling since yesterday, searching here and there. Now I can sleep tight

To wrap it up :
1. Download Samsung USB Driver (Windows 7 can't find it for me) and install it.

2. Unplug your device (if it's plugged).
3. Put your focus in download mode (I found this from Omnia forum), as astaccz already stated, press Volume UP + Camera + Power button, then after you see Exclamation Mark inside Yellow Triangle, release the button.
4. After the driver installed, Run the application (I use the 7.21 version) then load all of the files needed. (nb0, bin, etc)
5. Plug your device !! The Start button will be clickable now !!
6. Press start, and enjoy the flashing progress.
7. Wait until you get the Getting Started screen.
8. Enjoy !!!

many thanks PavelX1, very good work indeed. More people can be set at ease knowing they can always flash back to factory default. This helps me out b/c I tweak my Focus so much I forget what all I've done sometimes Harder to try and undo things than just revert back to default factory and redo what tweaks I liked. Thanks again and keep up the great work...we all appreciate it.

any one knows if is possible to view the content of the OS image?? i'm interested to make some changes in the regedit of my sim unlocked focus.

Sadly, I'm still not able to make my focus workin. After flashing it's stucked and just displays SAMSUNG.

It will not complete phone just goes to connect to computer screen and stays there. Been waiting for 30 min now. Any one have any info?

I've been waiting for this for a long time. My replacement phone came with 7390 installed, so I was locked out. Now, I've flashed this 7004 ROM, Unlocked, Updated, and am currently running 7390 UNLOCKED. Very much appreciated.
Be sure to browse for all the file parts in the Flash Program, then be sure to select ALL the check boxes. Next, put your phone into DOWNLOAD mode (Volume UP, Power, Camera) and then start the flash. See the attached images. Of course your files will be in slightly different locations.

Same here, got a focus from ebay which already had 7390, after flash, the firmware and radio were downgraded on mine compared to the original retail rom from att, I used UCJK2 AT&T USA, the process took less than 10 minutes, also I kept my sandisk 8gb sdcard in, and was formatted and added automatically. Ran chevron, debrand, updates to 7392, all OK. The UCJK2 AT&T USA is 7004, did not try the UCJK3 ATT USA 4K because it's probably already 7390... and you will not be able to unlock it.

I also left my 16GB SD Card in during flash. I did try the 4K version, but it said I didn't have the correct hardware. Not sure what that one is for. Maybe it's for the phones that have the newer memory, v4 or something like that?
It's so great to be unlocked! I've got a REAL FlashLight again...

[Q] How to repair bootloader?

As many of you probably know there is an issue with the DFT HSPL and the Mango update resulting in the device no being able to be detected in bootloader mode (one line on the tri-colour screen). Is there a fix available alredy or not yet? Because I can't flash the official mango update for my Vodafone Trophy because of the abovesaid reason. Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.

probably the easiest method will bee having a ffu file to use with the updatewp or in alternative the cab.pks file with the spl
these are the files signed by ms to be deployed using updatewp
... ultimately we shall wait for the next official update that will be deployed from Zune

I've received the HTC update for Windows Phone through Zune yesterday, update that contains SPL and radio, phone rebooted twice immediately after the update and still no good bootloader, so no luck with that.

thats all bad news.. for now we are stucked with this problem

Did you already tried goldcard method. This flashes also the bootloader.

The only way I see after all this attempts is directly flashing mermoy with JTAG

only way to fix this is by " http://gsm-technix.de/shop/produkte/19/1/10/htc/ "
I used this after testing custom spl/radios and ofcause **** can happen
20 euro + 6.90 euro and your phone is fixed for German people
(it worked for me and got my phone back in only 2 day's )

Correction:
Never use Custom ROMs without reading the forum or read the chef instructions first. If people are too lasy to read dont mess with your phones.

And if you want to test/dump/build/cook be prepared to get a bricked phone

I had use DFT mango coustem Room till the mango update comes in market from microsoft
use same DFT program 1- DFT_RSPL_WP7FG1_LAUNCH / 2- DFT_HSPL_WP7FG1_INSTALL """but select the 1 option""" then install orgenal shipped ROM (old V. WP 7) to get back the orginal HSPL
then it be easy to update to WP 7.5 by Zune
(my HD7 worke fine and normal update by Zune)

If you are going to using stock or shipped ROM you will not needs Gold card "only if your phone is louked then you needs gold card)

[Q] Don't get the European Update

Hey guys,
I have flashed the European stock ROM from here on my Sensation, since it has a branded (German Vodafone) ROM.
However, I don't get the notification for the update, which is currently spread out in Europe, for the new market etc.
Also when I search for updates, it shows me that I have the current version on my phone.
Why is that so?

Have you tried searching for an update by your own? And what version are you running.
Btw. I think the market update is only for USA.

Try to do a reset of your phone. That should do it.

You first need to get 1.45.401.3, then you'll be offered 1.50.401.1

No, even on rooted phones, it will give the notification and let you download. Only at the time of installation phone will give message that you have tempered with your phone
But I cant say why you are not getting the update. I think it could be because your phone is branded. May be the update is released for unbranded phones only, till now.

Nope, my phone was branded at first, but I flashed 2.3.4 (

What is your current CID? Maybe the OTA is CID dependant and the phone is not seeing the update. When I first got my Sensation, I also debranded my phone by setting up CID 032 and flashing RUU 1.24xxx (I don't remember which one exactly) and then it got all the updates. My current version is 1.50.401.1.
PS Did you also try to manually check for the update from Settings? Sometimes the phone is too dump to see it by itself, even if you have mobile/wireless network.

I just replaced my LG Optimus 7 for a new one, after it died. Unfortunately I now do not receive any updates and can't really figure out why.
I looked through xdadevelopers and other boards already but could not find any help.
My problem: Zune searches for updates but ends in telling me that my phone is up to date 7.0 (7004). On my old phone I received all updates as I should have received them... But not on the new one.
What I already tried without any success:
- Tried the update on two different machines with latest Zune
- Tried it already for half a week to see if it just takes a while
- Rest the phone to defaults
- Also tried the trick to disconnect the PC from the network that worked for the Mango update. Also not successful
Phone: LG Optimus 7
FW: 7.0 (7004)
Carrierbranding: OPN
Carrier used: Swisscom, in Switzerland
I am really grateful for any kind of advice! Thanks so much!

I am using an unbranded phone now (OPN). The one before was Swisscom-branded and I got all updates.

I suggest you flash your phone with a different ROM.
