ext 2 sd card not recognized? - HTC Sensation

I have a stock rom on my S-off rooted Sensation. I reloaded a back up of the stock Rom I had made due to a gps file I wanted to get rid of. On my 32 gig sd card I had partitioned the card with a 2 gig ext 2 partition for installing my apps to sd card using the app called link2sd. I use that app on my Nexus One and other phones without any issues. The problem I had is after I flashed the back up stock rom the phone does not recognize the ext. partition. I have tried rebooting without success. Is there something I am not doing. I don't want to partition my card, I have all kinds of imfo on it I don't want to loose. Any help will be much welcomed.
Thanks
Vinny

I guess partitioning gives more space for apps, what else should it do?
yes but i changed my sd card after flashing. Do i have to partition manually or is it already done for me

You changed settings, or you changed hardware? You put your old sd-card out, through it away and out a new one in?
Do a datawipe, format sd-card, re-partitionate, then your clear
I was to hesitant for partitioning earleir, but since I create a swap and ext partition
my phone runs super smooth,
So all those who have not yet done it, please go ahead and enjoy the fastest froyo ever.
Backup your SD CARD data to PC before partitioning, else all data would be gone.

Phone is asking for SD Card

I flashed my friends G2x Gingerbread with Clockworkmod via NVFlash. After that, I rooted the phone with jboxer's zip. I was going to install EaglesBlood rom but when I booted into recovery and tried making a backup, it said "Can't mount SD Card" and it didn't create the backup.
I had to go into ROM Manager and create the back up and install the rom through there.
Now that the ROM is flashed, I can't use the camera because it says "Please insert an SD card before using the camera."
Also, in the notification bar there is an SD card symbol with a "!" on it and it says "SD card removed. Insert a new one"
What made the phone ask for the SD Card? Was it CWM?

Which card? The internal one that comes with the phone? Because I have an SD card and I put it into my friends G2x and then I was able to use the camera and everything.
The problem is that it's asking for the SD card and without it, the camera doesn't work.
Is an SD card needed to create a backup and flash a new rom? Is there anyway to use the External SD that's in the phone?

The memory in the phone is the internal "sdcard" not the external one. Making backups requires a physical sd card. What good would be making backups to your phone memory and then your phone gets hosed and you cannot access that memeory anymore and poof, backups are gone. Without an sd card the camera should be able to use the internal memory. Check the settings in the camera and make sure it is set to use internal memory. Also, some roms switch the internal "sdcard" and physical sd card around, which can get real confusing. But in recovery the physical sd card is always where the backups go (at least as far as I understand it).
Yeah I got it now. Cm7 does switch the internal SD with the microsd that's why the camera wasn't working, but there's an option to switch them around

CM7 assumes you have a physical sd card and that you want it to be the main memory the phone uses for "sdcard". I personally prefer to leave it as is to avoid confusion. It is just that if you use internal memory and your phone gets borked, you lose everything in the internal memory (a common problem with Galaxy S devices).
Is there an option for this in the Miui (latest) rom? I am having the same problem.

General Rom Question

When installing a custom ROM do you have to have a SD card? I just got the phone and want to go to the de-bloated stock version, but I don't have a micro SD card.
No there is an internal 16gb sd card.... in cwm recovery you can flaah roms from the internal or external card
Its always good to have one to store roms and other files you don't want accidentally deleted from flashing roms. But technically I don't think you need one.

Just confirmed - you don't need a seperate sd card.

[Q] Problems with mounting SD card on rooted Rezound

When I flash certain ROMs on my rooted HTC Rezound, my SD card fails to mount. I have tried everything from re-flashing the ROM, formatting my SD card, and factory data resets. This happens all ROMs except for one. The one ROM that my SD card works on, wifi cannot be enabled now. This is a new problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Which ROM works for you and what do you have ICS or GB? First step is to swap out SD. I had a faulty SD card do something similar and when I changed it all was well. Also when flashing new ROM's sometimes if you forget to flash the new Kernel along with it you will break wifi, sd card mount, and have a host of other issues.
Have you tried a different SD card?

[Q] Problem Creating partition in twrp affects sd size

I have a 32 gb micro sd card in my Samsung Fascinate. I attempted to create a partition using twrp recovery, but it failed everytime saying that it could not find the partition. Now when I use my card though it only shows 23.9 gb even though it is completely empty. This was a legit card and it showed the correct amount of gb proir to the failed partition. I don't know why my partition setup failed or why it is now only allowing 23.9 gb.
Thanks
I too am facing the same problem with my Kingston 64GB Class 10 micro SD card in my Sprint HTC One M8 using captain throwback's custom TWRP recovery version 2.8.4 on official kitkat 4.4.4 rom. The phone is (obviously rooted/ S-O).
Any help would be appreciated.

Try reformat your SD Card using MINITOOL PARTITION WIZARD (windows apps) into fat32. Before doing it, connect SD card to your computer just delete second partition you''ve made with twrp. (you can see it from your computer)
How to use mini partition wizard just Google it.
Thanks a lot for the tip my sd card now works perfectly and all is good!
