My buddy said he'd sell me his sensation for $100. It has a cracked screen and ever since he dropped it and cracked it the speaker is kinda hit and miss. Is this a common issue when the screen cracks or is there a hardware problem at this point? I was going to order the HTC One S until I found out it has a sealed battery and there's no slot for an sd card.. LAME! Thanks for anyones help in advance!
I think the speaker got hit too, check out fixing prices for them but I think it worth 100 bucks. No warranty though?

I have insurance with T-Mobile so worst case I would buy it at $100 and pay $130 for a replacement, not bad. I was hoping to just repaid the screen since I can do it for free at work but the speaker scares me. Not sure if its worth the hassle.
That would not be so expensive to replace, would it?

Hey just want to know if anyone has insurance with Asurion and if they accept device swap/replacement with a relock TmoUS One S. I'm considering rooting my One S but I want to double check first.

Deductible is the same for loss or other issue, right? If it is, it doesn't matter. Issue with phone, throw it away, or use it for parts, and report it lost.

I just sent my defected phone back to T-Mobile. You can still see "relock" on bootloader. Hopefully they don't call me about it or I might just play it off. Lol. Usually they check for is water and physical damaged.
If going through insurance then it doesn't matter. You're paying deduction

I'm a bit confused with all the insurance options. I see many people picking verizon insurance over squaretrade or negricare. Is there a particular reason for this?
The insurance options for GS3:
- Verizon total equipment coverage
- Asurion Wireless Phone Protection (through Verizon)
- SquareTrade
- NegriCare
I would appreciate any insight/advice about insuring the phone!

anybody? i would appreciate if you even told me if they have insurance and which one!
I've gone with TEC as long as I can remember carrying insurance. Its essentially just Asurion insurance plus the extended warranty. Mainly because its the carrier sponsored protection, so its very little hassle. It has served me well in the past. At $6.99/mo and a $99 deductible on insurance claims, that's pretty darn good.

True. I didn't think about that. I've never had more than 1 in a year.

For most people probably a non issue. I knew a few people this would not work for lol. They wonder why I laugh when they ask to drive my car.

So the day i got my g2x i signed up for insurance that covers everything. And since tmobile discontinued the g2x, if i loose my phone or someone steals it, how will i get a replacement? Will they give me choices of different phones to choose from?
There's a thread in discussion that summarizes this: if something happens, you pay $130 and can choose an HTC sensation or if you push them a galaxy s2.

it's just like your auto or health insurance. Just because you pay the premiums, you still have a time of service deductible you're responsible for.
Now if it's a warranty problem, they send a refurbished G2x with a much smaller warranty processing fee
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Basically you have to pay for a replacement for anything other than hardware failure. So if you lose it or its stolen or water damage you have to pay. Now let's say your speakers fail or button stops working or even the charger port like mine was they will replace it for "free" as they say, but still make you pay a $5 fee to exchange your phone
Sent from my LG-P999
so lets say i make my own hardware issue and send them the phone, will they send me another g2x or one of the other phones?
Your fault= insurance= large deductible= different phone
LG 's fault= warranty= small processing fee= refurbished G2x
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
These deductibles are pointless. Might as well get a new phone. But to stay on topic, yeah you will still get your G2x refurb. If they dont have any, $130- $150 for S2 or Sensation.
Fml. Guys what can i do? I am so sad at this point i bought this phone for $600 from ebay i have no insurance on it :'(
A. Buy a new one
B. Send to Samsung for Repair
C. Repair it yourself

well its $178 and i am sending it in. wow this suck!!!!!!!!!!
that sucks. Just yesterday my s3 slide out of my pocket after 3 days of owning it (the case i ordered 2 days ago will be here tomorrow too) .. cracked the bottom corner, but I might just live with it, just thinking about getting a case that covers the edges so i wont have to see much of the crack would be good. http://i46.tinypic.com/5lyx41.jpg

Sucks more or less than dropping $600 for another one entirely?
I would recommend this case. I've dropped my phone twice. Once about 5 feet onto a wooden deck, and once about 3-4 feet on to concrete. Both times it landed on a corner.
Through luck and the case, my phone has zero damage. Actually, the time I dropped the phone on the deck, the impact was enough for some of the deck's paint to transfer on to the case.
i dropped mine on the pavement and my five year old stepped right on it! full weight no damage. landed screen down. otterbox defender FTW!
so i sent my phone in it was rooted and it was running cm10 samsung wont penalize for that right?

Highly unlikely Samsung would care (whereas Verizon would). They're also unlikely to notice if it won't turn on.

Since you aren't sending it in for any warranty work, Samsung won't care at all. No reason for them to care. You're paying for a service, not warranty work.
Good point mustbepbs

This is why the $50 bucks is definitely worth the investment in one of these:

Don't put a cheap case on your S3!!
