[Q] Swedish Mango users? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I saw there was some leaked final ROMs of Mango.
So if there are any swedish mango users, please tell me your impressions.
Specifically, I am interested in two functions.
Marketplace: Do the swedish users have access now to the Marketplace with the leaked ROM.
Bing Maps: Is there any directions functionality now?
Is it working in sweden?

Don't know about Sweden but in Finland the marketplace is working and the directions too. Market is a bit more stripped down than let's say US due to some stupid limitations some developers have applied to their software distribution options (for example Board-express, which is like Tapatalk for iPhone / Android). I hope these are going to be removed once the official Mango hits our phones.

New PhoneDaily article on forthcoming WM5 AKU3 upgrade

Now that Microsoft has, finally, officially released the forthcoming, by Windows Mobile 5 users, highly anticipated AKU3 (please read this article on what different AKU's are different in) for device manufacturers and rebranders, a lot of new articles have been published on it.
The latest one worth checking out is that of Hong Kong-based website Phone Daily. The original article is here, the English "translation" of it here. (Note that BabelFish wasn't able to translate the original page; this is why I had to edit the original page and remove the implicit REFRESH tag to avoid BabelFish promptly switching to the main (Chinese) homepage of the site. The modified and, now, BabelFish-compliant page is here. Remembering this trick can be pretty useful when you plan to translate any page from Phone Daily - or, for that matter, any web site that is incompatible with BabelFish because of the quiuck redirection.)
Hope AKU3-based ROM upgrades quickly make to current WM5 devices. Note that the unofficial AKU3-based ROM's already released by the XDA-Dev folks for the HTC Universal, Wizard and the MDA III all lack functionality like Bluetooth FTP and Ajax compliance and, therefore, I do not really recommend them. Don't expect them to support the entire set of new AKU3 features.
I wonder if imate will be releasing this for the JasJar. They haven't since 2.0
Excuse me,where can I download AKU3 for dopod 586w(i-mate sp5)

T*Omnia English Translation of menus and Dialogs from Korean..How??

Hello all
A friend of mine is living in Korea will bring me his new T-Omnia next week. The ROM that comes with it is in Korean and he has some trouble navigating though it as everything is in Korean. I tried to find a WWE ROM for the T*Omnia but got nothing.
Question: is there an easy way to translate the menus and dialogs to English.
It won't be that easy. The T*Omnia is sold only in Korea, so no WWE ROM's exist for it. There are software solutions that can translate the menus in russian or bulgarian but I don't think something similar exists for english as it is the default language if WinMobile If course you can try to hack some other translation of WinMobile (bulgarian for example) and apply it to the T*Omnia but there are still 2 issues:
1. No guarantee that such a solution will work with korean ROM. It's intendet to localize WWE ROM's. On the other hand a friend of mine localized a NL Diamond ROM successfully, so it may be worth a shot
2. The T*Omnia has a (still) non-standart resolution. Just look at the HD compatibility list for problematic apps So this is also a possible issue.
Anyway. Here is the link to such a localization program. It supports a number of languages, so it may be of some help to you.

you could always cook us an english rom- i would love a T*Omnia running english!!!
none of the software in the link seem to have the ability to localize to english
i guess having the ability to simply have the main menus in english is "good enough" untill Samsung releases a WWE version of the rom. if someone can help with that, that would be great.
anybody can help with this?
I second this - I have a sch-m490 could anyone cook an english rom.
Same here, need that rom badly. Anyone please?
BUMP please help with this. Im in korea and i really cant use my phone right now. I couldnt enjoy my omnia. Please please help.
Please guys im so desperate here. Anyone please.

New localisation for 1.6 (hu_HU)

Hi!
I working in the Hungarian Localisation for Android 1.6. If i finish, want to put the localisation to Android code. How can i do this?
ROM Developers, email to me, and i send the laguage files to put to the roms.
Unfortunately, as of October last year, contributing localizations to AOSP wasn't really possible. I recommend you contact the android-platform mailing list and find out if Google's gotten their acts together on this.

root HTC Hero with original 2.1 (Nordic user) ?

Hi,
HTC Hero users have finally (after many months of promises) got the official Android 2.1.
I downloaded and installed it just couple of hours ago.
The problem I'm facing is support for some asian languages which is missing from all android os versions.. my friends who are using iphone have no problems whatsoever with any languages while I'm unable to read content on certain websites. this is really irritating.
I'm not a big tech guru and I realize that android 2.1 on hero is a pretty new thing.
Is there anybody out there who has managed to root it?
NB! the only thing I'm looking for is a file access so that I can overwrite system fonts like DroidSans.ttf. I don't want to touch the ROM otherwise.
thanks in advance,
Norwegian HTC Hero user

How to add native language support?

Hi guys, this is my first thread in XDA!
Been lurking around a bit though the past couple of weeks and let me point out how amazing this community is!
OK so here is my query (sorry if this has been posted here before):
I'm a Swede, living in Sweden. I've ordered the SNS (my first android device so bare with me) from the USA and it should arrive sometime next week.
I know that the phone doesn't come with any support for the Swedish language. My guess is that they just want to make it harder for retailers to grey import the phone to a region where it shouldn't be sold (even though it will be sold in Sweden soon...).
So, is it possible to add support for the Swedish language somehow? (Keyboard, dictionary, system language...etc).
If so, how do I do it? I've seen some keyboard apps (pre-Gingerbread keyboard) for the Swedish language on the market but some of them don't work with Gingerbread and most of them seem to come with a lot of bugs (except for Swype). Also, I would need a dictionary, and the system language is nice but not crucial.
Isn't there a better way?
Thanks in advance guys!

Hi, a swede with the NSN here as well
To my knowledge, there are no way to get native swedish language support on the stock rom. The "nödlösning", that actualy works quite well is to use a third party keybord. I'm using Swiftkey, that has a swedish dictionary and swedish text prediction.
But if someone know about a way to get a swedish stock gingerbread keyboard, I would be delighted to hear.
Thanks for the reply
I guess I'll have to use either Swiftkey or Swype. If anyone knows another solution I would be happy to hear it
