[Q] Stretched text? - HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
I've come from a Rooted/Rom'd Hero and just got my Sensation yesterday, it's already been rooted and had quite a few roms on it, but I think I've found one I think I'm going to use daily (Pyramid3D v7.4.0), though for some reason the text is slightly stretched, and that's putting me off quite a bit as everything looks out of proportion, just slightly
Anyone know how to fix this/if it's a current problem?
(Would've posted on the thread, but I've not got enough posts lol)
Thanks,
Dan
edit; re-installed the rom and still does it :/

Just returned Atrix and picked up this phone...

Never even heard of it until the guy at the store pointed it out. I figured I was still in my return policy so why the heck not... So I get it home and turn it on and I gotta say... WOW! Even with a stock image from the store, this thing makes the atrix look like an old man. Moto did something with that phone that made it laughable! It couldnt even produce the color yellow...
Anyway...
Is this phone as hard to ROM as it appears? I was checking the dev section and I gotta say.. it looked a little crazy. Captivate was pretty straight forward - root, download CMW, flash rom. Is this that difficult or am I just making more of it than it really is? I couldnt figure out what a gold card was lol..
Thanks
Did the same thing
Just brought my Atrix back as well and got the Inspire.. I liked the front camera and HDMI port but they arent dealbreakers. Fingerprint thing was cool but IM not James Bond so I didn't care.
If I wanted a locked down phone I'd by an iPhone. Motorola is total joke. You can't remove that ridiculously bloated Motoblur and having my Facebook contacts lumped in with my regular contacts drove me insane. Resolution was amazing but its a wash cause the colors are atrocious. On top of the scam that the dual core processor only works on the laptop dock....sorry Motorola, try again some other day.
Atrix= Epic Fail
PSUfan5 (5 isn't for LJ is it? lol),
I have both the atrix and inspire and i have to agree with you that even though spec wise the atrix is superior, but in terms of useablitiy and functionality the inspire and HTC sense is king... plus if your a flash-a-holic like myself then you've found a new home...
that being said, although the rooting of the inspire looks ruff, if you take your time and follow attn1 instructions step by step you should be good to go, plus there are youtube videos showing you visually how to as well... and the user community is pretty helpful... also u can use irc to get real time help...
the dev support is up there with the best, i mean with in the first few days we have had custom roms, kernels that enable overclocking, teathering (wifi and usb), clockwork for easy flashing, cm7 support so you have gbread right of the bat, and sound fixes/performance fixes to jazz up your phone...
even though is "only" a 1 ghz processor as opposed the the dual core, I find the second generation snapdragons pretty zippy and no lag, which is weird because i actually experienced some with my atrix and its dual core (maybe its just moto blur)... oh and the upload/download speed are not as capped as the atrix, my inspire gets 3.5 down and 1.6 up, where as my atrix got 3.1 down but 0.4 up
Just my two cents
Welcome to the HTC Inspire "4g" <--- not really 4g

Same process - it's just obtaining root is a little more difficult. There is a hack kit in the dev section that will walk you through the process, and a "1 click" GUI has also recently been released in the Dev section
Flash has been acting up for me... it plays then gets garbled etc... it was playing fine and fast before - now its choppy and ugly. wonder what happened... hmm.
Welcome and good choice! Rooting and timing isn't that bad

Welcome! Just returned my Atrix for the Inspire few days back. The Atrix needs another 6 months of software and firmware refinement and polish, to even come close. Motoblur is ugly.
Rooting process complete with a few hiccups - had to manually copy a few files to the phone that for some reason werent there.
All in all, im really impressed with this phone. I havent tested the battery much but I turned off most syncing etc. Hopefully ill get good life out of it!

[Q] Sense dock pixely (Fixed)

Rooted about a week ago when revolution came out, and everything went smooth. The only issue I had was when i flashed my first ROM the dock on the sense 3.0 homescreens is pixely around the edges. I know this isn't a major problem but its very annoying and i really want it fixed. I've looked all over and can't seem to find a fix for this. I've flashed a few different roms, wiped, cleared data, ect and nothing seems to help. Any help greatly appreciated thanks!!

[Q] risks of flashing radio?, how to know if somethings wrong?

hi and welcome to another round of neebish questions of the day...
i flashed new radio from stock to version 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M and started reading a bit after, after a while i became aware that changing the radio could affect battery life and also it could be wrong in terms of where i live in the world, ive had it on my phone for several hours, and it seems to be working well, but im just a noob..... how can i know
i was basicly wondering if anyone of u who actually know this stuff could confirm that i didnt do anything stupid ? im putting in the link to where i found the radio files (its posted in the comments on the page by rataplan626, its not the same radio as the one that originally was posted in the thread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312144&page=5
thank you for great answers and for being patient with those of us that are new to all of the difficult terms and choices connected to rooting and stuff i hope someday i will be just as big of an resource as you guys
if the radio flashed then everything should be fine. The best way to test is to just use the phone. You won't notice much of a difference though but if you do then something may have gone wrong. But provided it was all done right, that radio should be fine. However, i should advise you flashing radios are not the safest thing for your phone. Also I don't think it makes much of a difference where you are. I flashed that same radio and it's all good for me.
I would advise searching around a bit more though. These questions have been answered many times before.
thnx then it should all be fine
Cheers ^^

[Q] banishing ICS blue?

HI all,
First post, so please be gentle with me!, I have been lurking here heavily for a couple of months since getting an android phone, and have to say it's a fantastic resource for getting the most out of android....
Now, on to the question.... I've played with various ROMs on my sensation XE, and love the functionality of ICS over GB but one thing that really really bugs me is ICS blue everywhere, it just clashes so badly with the red buttons on an XE....
I've been hoping I'm not the only one with this hangup and someone might release a sensation ICS ROM with different colours (either the green from GB, or even better an olive green!)....
Failing that it's a case of DIY I guess, I've been trying to figure out how, and think I'm beginning to get a handle on it but still havent found time to get my hands dirty (I'm new to android, but in another life 15 years ago was a unix sysadmin, so a lot of this is kinda familiar but half forgotten and still a lot to learn!)...
Now I've found some references to what would need changing in the ICS systemui and framework, guess I should find time to try it, but if there is someone with more experience that would like to see this, maybe they could lend me a hand or advice when it all goes pear shaped!?

[Q] andriod.phone crash when adding image widget -with Gummy ROM 1.01

First off, I just want to say Hi to everyone on the forums, this is my first post, but I've been lurking for quite a while, waiting for the right time to flash my phone –Should have done it sooner
Also, I want to thank everybody involved here, especially devs, for all of their hard work! -- I’m really not trying to suck up here… Just trying to portray sincere gratitude --
Anyway, I tried searching the forums here for related issues, as well as, the interwebs, but didn’t find anything relevant. So I apologize in advance if this is a known issue or a repost… Also, I tried posting this issue in the Gummy 1.01 release thread, but I’m a newbie so, I have to post it here:
This past weekend I finally got fed up with the buggy STOCK ROM for my SCH-i500 (Fascinate) and took the plunge and installed the latest Gummy build available for it (1.01). Everything is running very well so far, and I only have a few minor gripes, but all in all, it’s pretty awesome! Except for one big issue that I found…
If I try to add a photo widget to any of the launcher home screens, the screen goes black, and the bootup animation starts up, followed by a window that states “android.phone has stopped”. This is how I did it:
Menu>>Add>>Widgets>>Photo Gallery>>Choose an image>>[select an image]>>Crop.
This does not happen when I choose the other two options (“Choose an album” or “Shuffle all images”). I think this is either an issue with ICS 4.04, or Apex launcher. I think this because the same thing happens with my friends Galaxy Nexus; he is running Liquid ROM - not sure what version - based on ICS 4.04 with Apex launcher. It’s a completely different phone and he has a different kernel, which makes me assume it might be related to ICS 4.04 and/or Apex. … I’m not sure though because I’m not a dev…
Is anyone else having this issue?
*Update: Tried it again, and it completely crashed the phone this time. I had to pull the battery out to boot. Also, the phone started in “Safe Mode”. I just rebooted one more time, and everything seems fine again…
I'm having the same problem with my Verizon G NEX, Ive searched online and haven't found anything except for this post its a pretty strange bug if you ask me. anyone know of a fix ?
Just an update for anyone who comes across this thread... The issue has been resolved in the updated version Apex that just came out (v1.1.0).
