try using one of the applications in the guide - Drive Mapping or "how the hell can i see my PC drives on my PDA?"
or in the guide - "storage card as a Removable Device instead of ActiveSyncing" or "USBtoPC"
in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471521
this way you'll have access to your comp from your device.
Hi,
1- I want to transfer all my text messages to my PC as bulk, but I can't. There is absolutely no option to send them even by bluetooth !!! so I connected my HTC to my PC via USB port and installed drivers but still nothing happens.
2- I inserted a SD memory card into the slot but I can't locate the card with my HTC's windows mobile. It is like it cannot read the card or doesn't recognize it. I want to save my text messages on the card and then transfer to PC.
I used to have an application that I could turn on, and when connect to wi-fi it would act as if I had it connected via USB, eg I could access f: removable disk to put/remove files on/off my sd card without having to fumble around with plugging my usb cable in, cause only the back ports work and it's such a pain having to go in and out of my desk and such. I used to have it but cannot for the life of me remember the name.
help pls! <3
try MyPhoneExplorer, in my opinion a very useful app and its free on the market.
u also need to install the software on your pc, install from fjsoft.at/en/

Here is what I'm needing/wanting to do. I have a wildlife cam that takes pictures and stores them on a sd card. This unit has a usb connection to download to a laptop. I'm wanting to connect a cell phone to this unit. As the cam takes pics, it stores them to it's sd card. I wanting to connect my cell phone to the cam with the usb cord. It would be nice to be able to ask the cell phone the transmit or sync somehow with a "cloud" type storage.
My issues that I can think of is if I have a usb cord plugged into my wildlife cam, if it will be able to write to the sd card while the cell phone is plugged in. If I'm lucky and it will, how can I get my cellphone to grab these pics and upload to the web. I'm thinking I might have to sync the wildlife cam sd card with a folder on my cellphone, and then somehow synce this with the net.
Does anyone have any better ideas or know if this is possible? Thanks in advance

I was using my Inspire 4G with the newest release of the MIUI ROM, and it would have issues going in and one of car mode so I flashed to the Android Revolution ROM, didn't like it, and decided to flash completely back to stock thinking that would solve the car mode issue.
After flashing back to stock, I attempted to root again but my phone was not being recognized as a disk drive.
I did the usual software-side things on the device itself, including:
Checking the Default connection type
Enabling Ask me (Ask me about USB connection type whenever I connect my phone to a PC)
Trying with USB debugging on and off
Turning off Fast boot
Unmounting/mounting SD card
Trying a different SD card
Did a Factory reset of the device
I then tried installing/reinstalling HTC Sync on my Windows 7 64-bit PC multiple times. I made sure to disable Windows Firewall and any anti-virus software.
I tried the in-box HTC USB cable on all 3 USB ports, and then tried a Seidio brand USB cable on all 3 USB ports to no avail.
Lastly, I connected a friend's stock HTC Inspire 4G to my laptop, using my HTC USB cable, and my laptop recognized it immediately and I could access the SD card files.
Thinking it was a hardware issue, I took my phone into a local repair shop and they diagnosed corrosion on the board due to moisture damage. I paid $150 to have it fixed.
I picked up my phone yesterday and it is still having the same issues.
I've been using an HTC Aria in the mean time and that connects to my PC no problem and I'm able to view the files on the SD card on my PC.
Does anyone have any other thoughts to what the problem could be before I take it back to the repair shop?
Perhaps it is the software? Is there a way I can root my phone without having the ability to connect it to my PC?
Thanks in advance!
