[Q] How to install CWM Revcovery in Galaxy 3 (5800/5801) - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How to install CWM Revcovery in Galaxy 3 (5800/5801)...
My Base ROM is XXJPS (XXJP4).. As Kyrillos' ROM 7.1 has CWM Recovery, I think there is a possibility to install it.
Please let me know how to do it. Thanks in advance.

Hi.. flash g3mod kernel to get CWM ...
flash the lite version if you dont want to overclock

Flash g3mod kernel but if you dont want g3mod kernel just send a pm to mumbozver (who has ported cwm to our phone) and he will give you the recovery installer
ale_bot from xda app

There are many custom kernels and also CWM custom recovery for them. Just visit the thread download the cwm/kernel>unzip>check the package has ".tar" extension> fire up ODIN and flash as any custom rom

I am now using G3MOD Lite. It works fine.

i flashed DDJP6 prerooted and then flashed the kernel 1.8 extreme but it doesn't have recovery mode?? if i press volume down power and home button it takes to download mode what to do?

To flash cyanogen you have to flash Gingerbread so that you can get CWM working after that you can flash Cyanogen

- i am already a Gingerbread user and i want to have Cyanogen. how to do it?
Visit the url given below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640
From there you will get the cwm. Follow the instruction given to install it in your fit with odin.
Once cwm is installed copy the cyanogen mod rom (latest one released for fit is cm7.2 rc3 by asad007) to your sdcard and after that go to recovery mode (for that turn off your device and press home button and power button combination to enter recovery mode). Then follow the exact steps given by asad007 to have cm7.2 in your fit.
For cm7.2 rc3 by asad007: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382461
select rc3 multiupload link.
That's it.
Hope this helps..
Follow the instructions properly & Flash Cyanogen !! Its way better than the Stock GB Rom !!

I know that the have kernel for stock ROM S5670XXKPQ of 844 MHz. For other stock ROM I don't know.
Many OC kernels are available...one with 764mhz and 801mhz....
First u need to flash CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY available for Fit via odin. Make sure its version is 5.0.
Then download the if kernel and store it on ur SD card.
Now restart your phone in recovery mode (power key+home button), choose install zip from SD card. Now select the of kernel and reboot when done.
But remember this is not meant for daily use as it makes phone unstable and creates heating problems...

You want to know how I know you cant read....because had you clicked on this link.
eollie: AntonX's BwaT + Stock Rom
Stock KJ6 + Antonx-One-Click.jar
You would have known it wasnt just a kernel...but then again reading is fundamentally hard on xda.

You can't update to cm9 and stay on 5.0.
Unlike most samsung phones, we do not have a functional recovery partition.
Even though we do have a recovery partition, and you can flash the recovery.img there, the bootloader will not even notice it.
It will just boot the kernel with the kernel command line argument: bootmode=2
In this mode, a stage1 init has to check if we are booting to: recovery, low power mode (charging), or normal boot (possibly with ota upgrade).
So in a nut shell, you upgrade to cm9, you get whatever recovery comes with cm9.
If you want to flash another cm9/ics based rom after that, just flash it (factory reset/wipe data, of course!). No need to go back to 5.0 recovery.
If however, your IMEI is screwed up or you have a specific reason to go back to gingerbread, use the oneclick that eollie mentioned. Flash it twice to get bootloaders. And then you can go back to cm9 by just 'factory reset/wipe data' and flash cm9 or whatever ics rom you wish.
I tried the one clicks but I end up having 6.0 cwm and no bootloader

That didn't make any sense. If you don't have a bootloader, how do you know what cwm you have?
i guess i do have boot loader.
im on CM9. cwm 6.0.1.0 and all i want to do is install this rom.
[TUK's ROM][Hybrid]Codename Android 2.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799192
can you please tell me how? :crying:
ive tried one clicking to stock then once clicking Antonx kernel.
but once i go to CM9 i get cwm 6.0 and when i try to once click the AntonX: Basic with a Twist SGS4G KJ6 1.1.0 i get boot loop.
and the eollie: AntonX's BwaT + Stock Rom link is broken.
Sorry about that I changed the link and thought it was the same. This is the correct link.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/10373328/Stock KJ6 + root-One-Click.jar
so i go back to stock or can i just one click this from my CM9 cwm 6?

Please read some more and understand what one clicking means. You could have cwm 3.x.x.x and if you flash the heimdall one clicks it will change to the current cwm for bml.
ive tried everything and i guess i have bad luck cuz i get boot loops or stuck on boot screen

Recovery Problems in Samsung Galaxy 3!!!!! :(

My Phone has CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7 which is a touch screen recovery mode and i am having problems with it.
I had a 4.0 ICS custom rom in my samsung galaxy 3 but it made my phone really slow. I was searching a new custom rom thats when i found kyrillos rom 9.7.1 which was really cool because of its features. So I downloaded it and then I formatted everything by reset factory mode option to install update as I already had one custom rom earlier. But when I opened recovery mode it is not installing update.zip file of kyrillos rom and is always saying that the installation aborted. Please help me with this guys........... :crying:

Kyrillos 9.7.1 had to be flashed on Kyrillos 9.7. It will not work on any other rom.
So flash 9.7 first then 9.7.1.
