[Request]An App that acts like a second display (Set up Dual Monitors) - Android Apps and Games

I would like to know if there is an app that makes my phone into a second monitor via USB (bluetooth or wifi). Not a remote desktop, but an actual dual monitor (where i can drag windows between phone and monitor)
Thanks again. Much appreciated.

Those were really cool. Thanks for sharing.

Also, this app allows you to mount usb storage (or sd card) to your computer/laptop via wifi. Been using it for a while and really like it

App to control your computer from your phone?

I remember seeing an app where you can actually view your computer's homescreen directly on your phone and control is. What app is this?
Also, do you need to be on the same wifi to control it or could I be away from my house and still control my home computer from my phone?
TeamViewer is your answer.
You can find it in the Market.

Sweet, thanks! How exactly do you set this up? And can you control the computer when you aren't on your home wifi? And does anyone need to be at the computer to "activate" something?
Splashtop hd.. Install app.. Install program on computer connect them up and bobs ya sister lol

You go to their website and download the PC or MAC or Linux client. Then you set up an account from the client and make sure under settings you tell it to allow all connections and tweak the settings to your liking.
Then go on your phone, log in to the app, select the computer and boom! Your desktop shows up.
I'm not sure if it works on 3G/4G since I don't have a data plan but its flawless over wifi. Anf it does work outside of your home wifi network.
And no, if you tweak the settings no one has to be at the computer to "activate" it.

Sick!!! Good to know, now I can access my computer anywhere....
The best one is Logmein
It even supports my dualmonitors. Definitely worth it for this app guys.
I use team viewer, i have it controlled on my netbook, desktop and phone. and i use a common password so whereever i go I can always access all 3 things
very useful.
also, choose the setting that doens't give you a new password everytime you end a session.
do they have gotomeeting or citrix?
Not that I know of.

[Q] inspire to macbook via usb file/system browser?

weird kinda question...
i have a macbook with out a screen (dont ask) literally just a keyboard case and all the guts.
it turns on/receives charge/boots up just fine (from what i can tell).
ive got a lot of stuff on that lil guy.
i also have my inspire 4g (rooted/roms/blah blah).
is there anyway to browse my macbooks files/system files/access data via USB? remember...the mac works...but it only has the keyboard. no screen=i cant tell what im doing.
any help or even just guesses would be great.
cheers
Don't know of such capability using the Inspire but I use my HDTV as external monitor on my MacBook Pro...have you tried some sort of display port adapter?

There is no capabilities to recognize external storage devices other than the sd card. You would need an external monitor as mentioned in previous post.

Console

Ok, i would like to monitor my phone. I dont know what the best way to do this. I would like to set up a console through my computer. If necessary, i can use another monitor via micro-usb to hdmi.
honestly, any feedback would be much appreciated

Do you mean monitor as in always see the "systems health", or actually see the devices whole output on a larger screen?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I know how to get it to a larger screen, jus wondering if i could monitor the health i guess from another screen. Also if somebody could link me to a place where i could use my computer to control my phone/tablet. Unfortulently i have a verizon htc one.

Is this how we work in the future?

I just made a very interesting setup.
It's a Google Nexus 5, USB-connected to a Philips 231P4UPES DisplayLink monitor. Keyboard en mouse works, but i have no display, because there is no displaylink driver for android .
Now, lets think it works. Do you still need your laptop/tablet/desktop or other device?? I think not. My phone is fast enough with full HD. I can use all internet application and android apps, and on my work I can connect to VDI without a problem.
I say this is ultimate way of working.
(I made a picture of it, but cant post it, since this is my first post)
If your phone is rooted, then you can see your phone's screen on your web browser, using WebKey app. It is a remote device management app through wifi. You need internet access. Watch tutorials on youtube on how to setup it and start using it.

True, but I think that there is still a problem regarding with capacity. Both internal phone memory and external SD are not enough to replace a hard disk.
You can use a USB hub for your device. Then you can connect USB flash drives and hard disks.

Plus the clouds! The future won't spare mechanical hards - it's like internal combustion engine - it had its glorious times and now it's time to move on. Especially when the advantages of Sylicium was discovered.. All Hail SSD!
Oh btw you can buy a 2,5'' chipcard with 12 removable microSD cards up to 64GB and use it as hdd..
Everything will change. We will have everything on cloud services and we won't use many cables.

One will always have more possibilities with a bigger device but after 1k years everything we imagine now will look stupid (that is if we survive ourselves).
Technology will destroy humanity. Have you seen Terminator? ☺

There's a much easier way to access your phone from a PC, download AirDroid from the appstore, its free, and doesn't require rooting at all, once installed, you can access your phone from any PC either thru wifi or thru the internet, then go to "web.airdroid.com" from any PC browser, and scan the QR code on the screen with AirDroid on your phone. It'll automatically link up and give you access to everything on your phone thru the webapp, including pushing data from PC to phone clipboard, full keyboard texting, and drag-and-drop file transfer from PC to phone.
Can airDroid show your Android screen on your browser?

What different ways are there to copy folders between two different nexus 5's??

I want to transfer two folders from my SD card download folder on my n5 to my sister's n5..
I tried turning on NFC and touching the phones, but I didn't see any way to transfer the folders.. Same for Bluetooth..

Use Superbeam..
Upload it to an online storage (Google drive, dropbox, box, etc.) and send her a link.
Or there are probably some apps in the play store that will transfer files over WiFi.
Folders and files can't be sent with NFC. It's mainly for smaller things like photos, links and contact info.

Well good luck with that. Depending on how big the files are, you will most likely need some kind of internet. Bluetooth will be slow or have errors.
