I just purchased an HTC Sensation: It won't power on. - HTC Sensation

Hello,
I purchased a 550$ HTC Sensation through Amazon. The problem is that it will not turn on.
I was wondering if there was some device in this phone where it would not turn on unless it has received one full charge first.
Is there any external indicators a charge is taking place, such as a light coming on because there are none. Maybe my phone is not getting a charge.
I want to make some video games on Android, but alas the phone won't even turn on. Anyone have a suggestion?

Did u put the battery in nd if u did, did u put it in the right way nd u have to hold for about 3-5 seconds for it to turn on nd did u try putting in the usb cable nd then turning it on the battery might not be charged

Did you remove the foil from the battery? Sorry had to ask
Swyped from my HTC Sensation

Thank you guys. The instructions were not clear on how to do this. I was worried I would void the warranty or something if I opened my phone.

PMSL,
you sure you shouldnt have brought a NOKIA

Smells like rotten APPLEs here...
(hint: Open the phone = void the warranty )

Oi, guys, calm down. It is funny, but give him a benefit of the doubt. Some people are not very friendly with technology, not because they are lazy but just because they never had to deal with it before. Chill.

[Q] Question about HTC repair

Hi guys im about to ship off my htc inspire to htc for repair but i had a question. the phone will NOT boot at all. the orange LED light will not even show up if its plugged in. this happened after i flashed to PD198IMG.zip from the ace hack kit in HBOOT. now the phone wont turn of. if i plug it into my computer it tells me its installing this driver. but it cannot be found i looked on the internet for it and i couldnt find it. anyways! my question is. Will HTC be able to tell the warranty is voided or not. so far on here i havent found anything that HTC can do that we cant. but i need a straight answer from you devs! thanks so much!
Might run it over so they could just send you a new one

Can you not boot back to hboot volume down and power? As far as the warranty goes HTC just referbs the phone I have never got charged for rooting . Try to boot to hboot screen and the HTC sync drivers can be found on HTC web site

As far as I know it's AT&T who "cares" if you have rooted your phone, I don't think HTC cares.
ATT has never asked if I had rooted my phone they don't have in there terms & conditions they read for exchanges. And I have a friend who works for them and he said that don't care just don't tell them more than they need to know .

My phone is currently being shipped back from HTC and they didn't charge my for the repair . ! just reporting back for those who have the same issue dont have to fret about sending your device in!
Thats great news! Thanks for the update. Total turn around time was what, about 2 weeks?

I did work for them, and you're correct my friend.
They don't expect you to root it, as most customers never do. If you don't mention it, chances are it will never come up.
I doubt the geniuses in CS would even know how to check...

It all depends on how you ship it in. Yes they make YOU pay for shipping it in. i used UPS ground took about a week... the same day they got the phone they Replaced the motherboard (according to them anyways) and shipped it back out the same day. But they used ground shipping via FedEx.. even though the gal on the phone said expect the phone withen 3-5 Business days after they received the unit. So. yes. about 2 weeks total.

Something is seriously wrong with me

I need to be slapped into reality...
I've had this phone for almost 24 hours now and I have yet to turn it on. I've charged it up, even put my Skinonmi protector on. But for some reason I've yet to press the power button. What the hell is wrong with me?
Well alright... Then turn it on? I don't understand your point here.

Htc sent an email talking about how they can possibly unlock the boot loader within some time. They can't say much until HTC and AT&T come to some agreement.

I felt the same...Using an overclocked Dual Core Sensation with a port of this rom. (1.7ghz). But believe it or not, even stock this phone KILLS any rooted Overclocked bloatware free phone ive ever used..(GSII, Sensation. Evo, Nexus 1, Iphone?) Kills them many times over!! I was able to freeze all the bloatware right in settings.. Couldn't be easier. I have Free Tether so i'm not in need of that right now. For me it is bug free so as long as it stays that way i dont mind waiting as long as it takes for the bootloader to be h4x. Really you two turn those babies on and get to enjoying some nice, fast, smooth Hox! Gauranteed its the nicest phone you've ever used or vioalas said he'll give you your money back plus 20%!

Broken Sensation Question

Alright, so I got a Sensation from a friend today that has a smashed screen and a broken back from being thrown at the ground. I was wondering if any one knows how to check if the board is still good? It won't vibrate so I'm guessing that means its broken. If the LCD and digitizer aren't attached will the phone even power on? I also tried plugging it into the wall charger and nothing happens. Any advice? Do you guys think its broken? Thanks!
Here is a picture of the damage, kinda shows how hard it was thrown...

Take it apart and take a good look, that's the best advice I can give. Replace the LCD (if needed) and the digitizer if the board and components look alright.

The screens the difficult part , the housing will only cost you 12 bucks off eBay. Well if you replaced the screen and housing and it looked and worked ok, you could probably get 200 for it on eBay or the forums here. So do the math and see if you'll break even

I'd give it a try, I paid 500 for my sensation its very worth it if you can fix it. Parts are not too expensive. I say go for it! Don't sink too much into it incase it can't be fixed but do give it a try! Man your friend needs anger management if he does this stuff to his devices, haha lol!
Good luck let us know how it goes ok?

Wow.
Not only are you hard-bricked, you hard-bricked after you were warned in your last thread to stay away from international ROMs.
There's nothing you can do but return it and hope you can get a warranty replacement. There is currently no fix for your predicament.
congrats

So what yor saying is that it would be easier and the same price to just get a new phone... Personally, I think they should charge more. You can't put a set price on the lack of knowledge and reasoning..
