Root Explorer - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

I don't understand how to access "ADB Push"
and I have no money for Root Explorer, all I'm trying to do is install Lite'ning Rom..

If you've rooted your phone try ES File Explorer... Just go into settings and enable root options, then move whatever files around you need.
And as Sduvick would say, questions belong in the general forum. This one is for developmental posts.

Agreed this is in the wrong section but....Here is a link to a Root file Explorer app called Androotfile Manager. He offers it as a paid app on market but also offers it as a free app on his site.
Link to his site for free download.
Link to the Market for paid app.

If you're on Windows, here's a good intro to ADB.
Personally I use ADB to the exclusion of other methods, but I'm a Linux geek.

There is also Droid Explorer for Windows. It uses ADB in a nice Windows gui file-manager interface:

I don't have a netflix account. You can spoof the build.prop for another device and it will work fine. Easy stuff

We already extracted it of there. Works on Samsung no problems, just need to spoof the build.prop device name. Not too tough.

Awesome. Let us know if you get it to stream video .
I can't seem to get my system to mount R/W with ES File Explorer, so I can't edit the build.prop.
Furthermore, I have to manually change the "home" settings in ES to the /system folder in order to even navigate to it, then I can't even see the file even though all files are supposed to be shown (through settings) so I have to search for it.
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
EDIT: Noticed that when it is mounted as R/W, build.prop is not listed at all, but it is when it isn't mounted as R/W.

[Q] Root file explorer APP for tablets

What do folks use for ROOT File exploring with a tablet? I can see articles on ROOT file explorers with phones but not tablets? Likewise, file explorers for tablets but they don't mention root access.
Curious if there are any recommendations?
Thanks, LongTrail
Root Explorer and ES File explorer work just fine.

Super Manager is another choice. Can't post links yet, but it's in the Market.
file manager hd - its honeycomb optiimized, lets you make bookmarks. I like root explorer on my phones, but prefer the hd tablet layout of hd file manager.
Is in the market.

[Q] How do I move an apk from one rooted phone to another?

A while ago I downloaded an app called poke pal donate. It was a paid app for the Pokemon games where you count effort values. It's been taken off the market now and I have a new phone. My old phone's digitizer is cracked if that makes a difference. How do I get it on my new phone? Thanks and have a good day.
you can try Total Commander for Android (search Google for it).
this allows you to browser apps by name and copy apk files to where you want.

Root Access Apps

We all know that if you root your device and flash a ROM, you get a couple of root access apps thrown in for "good measure".......
But which root access apps do you install post flash that aren't strictly speaking necessary, but which you find useful?.....
For me, it's......
Goo Manager.....gotta keep that phone up to date....
HC-kTool.......EFS needs to be backed up....
MD5 Checker...... Gotta make sure that ROM you're about to flash is OK....
Power Menu app.....gets you to recovery or download mode without mashing buttons......
Root Explorer.....prefer it to CM's file manager......
SD Maid.....getting rid of the junk...
SMS Backup and Restore.....need to stop the wife becoming suspicious when all my text messages disappear..... lol....
Terminal Emulator....who needs ADB or a PC lol....
Titanium Backup......the single most useful app to have on a rooted phone.....
ViPER4Android......the best sound enhancement app.....period....
Wakelock Detector.....see what nasties are stopping my phone from deep sleeping......
XDA App......OBVIOUSLY....lol
So what about you guys?......

And another thing you say that i post warez.,..
I can only post warez if i would place a free download link for a paid app
So i could even post a play store link without being warned by someone.
I have no link and so it´s not your business to talk about my posts in a negative and hopeless way!
