[Q] Root file explorer APP for tablets - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

What do folks use for ROOT File exploring with a tablet? I can see articles on ROOT file explorers with phones but not tablets? Likewise, file explorers for tablets but they don't mention root access.
Curious if there are any recommendations?
Thanks, LongTrail

Root Explorer and ES File explorer work just fine.

Yep...I use Root Explorer. I've been using it ever since I started using the android system.

Super Manager is another choice. Can't post links yet, but it's in the Market.

file manager hd - its honeycomb optiimized, lets you make bookmarks. I like root explorer on my phones, but prefer the hd tablet layout of hd file manager.
Is in the market.

DroidxRage!
your advice helped me a lot!

Late to the game, but this file explorer allows root

It's my favorite File Manager...especially if you have a NAS as it allows bookmarks.

Thread is nearly 2 years old.... I imagine OP has found one by now

Use the solid explorer, its the best file manager ever ( in my opinion)
Hit the 'thanks' button if it helps

R: [Q] Root file explorer APP for tablets
The best file managers i've ever tried are solid explorer and total commander

+1 for Solid Explorer, has saved me so much time when transferring files between directories.

Search for Swiftp in the market.
Search for Samba here on XDA, its a sharing service that shares your SDCard over wifi, just like regular folder sharing on a PC.

On Air (wifi disk) and BitKinex (FTP and WebDAV client) on PC
Root ftp will allow you to access your sd-card for read/write.
Samba is light weight and really easy to use

Two Questions

Hi, i'm just wondering how do I move file such as movie file into SD card? I recently rooted my tablet and using cm9 rom. With the stock rom i used the my file(file manager) app, it came with the tablet.
Also anyone knows how to delete core apps? I dont need everything though, just few. My internal memory is only 8gb.
Thanks in advance.

To move files to sd, you need to install a file manager downloaded from google play as astro file manager l, es file manager, antek file manager, root explorer , root browser lite (search google play) use any of them as alternative to ny files app in stock rom
To remove system apps use file explorer as root explorer or root browser lite to remove the apk of unwanted apps from system/data ( please make nandroid backup first !!!) or use app like system cleanup (make a nandroid first)

yes to move files you need a file manager(go for bluetooth file transfer, astro, androzip or root explorer or any other)
and to delete stock bloatware use link2se or rom toolbox or titanium backup and many other option are available...
Thanks, i will be trying several apps and see what works with me. I'll keep you guys posted.

ES File explorer has an app manager that works well also

Your favourite file manager?

Whats your favourite file manager? Post it here!
ASTRO File Manager
ES File Explorer
+1 ES File Explorer.
Althought I didn't try a lot of file managers...
I've had a few, and generally install ES if one doesn't come with a ROM.
Once you find one that works though, they're all much of a muchness
Sorry, but I had to close this thread. First, there is already an app discussion thread here and this thread was already being dominated by 1 or 2 word answers...and a list of File Managers isn't really that helpful to anyone.
Thanks!

Write to external sd card without root?

Hi just wondering if apps can write to sd card without root on the note pro? Searched the forum and nothing came up but I use tapatalk so search is not always that great
Some apps can via a workaround, such as ES File Explorer and Quickpic. Others can't as they won't use the workaround.
Are there any specific apps or app types you're looking for?
You can use the My Files app, or connect the tablet to your PC and you'll have full access to internal and external storage.

Of which? ES and Quickpic? Both. ES is a file explorer, Quickpic is a gallery.

Recommended file manager?!

Hey guys,
Having stayed away from Android as a whole for a good 5-6 years, I'm not too familiar with the trend these days. Could you guys suggest a good file manager?!
Thanks for your help.

Root Explorer. It's a little pricey at $2.99 but completely worth it. Best file manager I've ever used
I've been using File Commander. Nice looking, and does what I need.

Root Explorer is the best.

Root Explorer or Solid Explorer.
I've just started using fx file explorer, it's superb it and no ads even in the free version and root access obviously and it looks great and is really easy to use
D2303 5.1 deodexed z2 port+z5+X apps+themes, be,xr,sv,ad,XZRt2urecovery,xposed,z5 cam2.0,xLOUD,S-Force,viperaudio+more
ES File Explorer for me, a Free file manager with rich features.
Fx File manager, undoubtedly the best for me. Great design, full featured and easy to use. There's a free version with no ads, and a paid version with ftp and multimedia features.
Try it, you won't regret.
