Whats your favourite file manager? Post it here!

ASTRO File Manager

ES File Explorer

+1 ES File Explorer.
Althought I didn't try a lot of file managers...

I've had a few, and generally install ES if one doesn't come with a ROM.
Once you find one that works though, they're all much of a muchness

Sorry, but I had to close this thread. First, there is already an app discussion thread here and this thread was already being dominated by 1 or 2 word answers...and a list of File Managers isn't really that helpful to anyone.
Thanks!

[Q] Root file explorer APP for tablets

What do folks use for ROOT File exploring with a tablet? I can see articles on ROOT file explorers with phones but not tablets? Likewise, file explorers for tablets but they don't mention root access.
Curious if there are any recommendations?
Thanks, LongTrail
Root Explorer and ES File explorer work just fine.

Yep...I use Root Explorer. I've been using it ever since I started using the android system.
Super Manager is another choice. Can't post links yet, but it's in the Market.
file manager hd - its honeycomb optiimized, lets you make bookmarks. I like root explorer on my phones, but prefer the hd tablet layout of hd file manager.
Is in the market.
DroidxRage!

It's my favorite File Manager...especially if you have a NAS as it allows bookmarks.
Thread is nearly 2 years old.... I imagine OP has found one by now

+1 for Solid Explorer, has saved me so much time when transferring files between directories.

Root Explorer

I don't understand how to access "ADB Push"
and I have no money for Root Explorer, all I'm trying to do is install Lite'ning Rom..
If you've rooted your phone try ES File Explorer... Just go into settings and enable root options, then move whatever files around you need.
And as Sduvick would say, questions belong in the general forum. This one is for developmental posts.
Agreed this is in the wrong section but....Here is a link to a Root file Explorer app called Androotfile Manager. He offers it as a paid app on market but also offers it as a free app on his site.
Link to his site for free download.
Link to the Market for paid app.

If you're on Windows, here's a good intro to ADB.
Personally I use ADB to the exclusion of other methods, but I'm a Linux geek.
There is also Droid Explorer for Windows. It uses ADB in a nice Windows gui file-manager interface:

stock task manager 2.3.6 GB

HI, anyone got stock task manager apk file from Gingerbread?
If u can give me the exact name of the file, I can definitely look into my stock GB backup. I searched with the name task manager however cudnt find it...
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
i dont know the name of the apk file,
but maybe u can search file name that end/start with "manager". thx
sry for the problem..
I'd say don't do it as firstly even if available it won't install I feel or won't coexist as ICS has it's own task management environment. If you have installed Avast, Astro etc it has task managers inbuilt. Also see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32753140#poststop

Is there anyway to retrieve the original File Folder? I prefer it over ES Explorer or others.
Am on a TF101 rooted with KitKat v4.xxx All else is fine. Searched, but could locate no help.
Thanks for any assistance,
Cal

AFAIK there's no default FIle Manager anymore, you have to install your favourite.

Thanks, but I found this one: OI File Manager (free) in the Play Store. It is a recent release and may have replaced the original...it is simple and very easy to use - and not one that need a manual read to understand.
Thank you for the response however - and I hope this post will help some other N00B in Android to find a good simply file manager.
