Hey,
I currently have my Sensation unlocked with revolutionary but I can not install the OTA to 2.3.4. I thought about flashing the stock RUU, update with the OTA and perform the official HTC bootloader unlock. But is there a way to install the superuser binary after that? I need su to restore my stuff with titanium backup.

I want to go back to stock tmous Rom ...I have s-off root and clock work recovery and super cid
.....I still want s-off but I want get rid of root and recovery....and install stock tmous ruu. And was wondering if I do a ota will it give me s-on..
You already wrote how to do it.
Run the RUU for T-Mobile.
You'll still be S-OFF after OTA.
I still have a backup of s-off, unroot stock rom. I like the ARHD rom but I can't play kingdoms at war on my web browser so I have to restore my stock rom so i can play that game again on my sensation.
I did a nandroid back up it is unrooted but I have s off....I have cw recovery and was wondering if I could do ota with custom recovery
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
afaik you cant run the ota update wile having a custom recovery. your best bet is to restore your stock rom by running the ruu of your provider (this also removes root) and than run the ota update
I'm currently S-ON and have non rooted stock ROM. I wonder if my phone would be rootable if I apply the official OTA update? Since it installs new HBOOT, would revolutionary be able to S-OFF it?
Check the revolutionary.io website, it pre determines before you download whether if your current setup is rootable.
I don't know if you can S-OFF and root after the update, but I DO KNOW, that you better don't do it before the update.
I have S-OFFed my phone using revolutionary and rooted using this su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip through the clockworkmod. But after latest OTA update I wasn't able to boot anymore and it pretty messed up my phone. After 4 hours I was able to repair my totally useless phone hopefully.
I just upgraded to the official ICS by HTC, and before I had upgraded, I had used Titanium Back Up to back up my files, anyway I can root my phone or use the Titanium Back Up files to restore my phone?

do that
Whereas that will work there is a much easier way of doing it...
To the OP - are you still S-OFF? If so, you need to flash CWM using a PG58IMG.zip and then flash the SuperSU package in CWM
If you're S-ON with HBOOT 1.27.0000 then you will have to wait for Revolutionary to update their package to be able to gain S-OFF again
Will I get the official OTA update if I have unlocked the bootloader via HTCdev method? Actually, I unlocked the bootloader via HTCdev on my sensation which is still in Android 2.3.4. (At that point I didn't know that doing that would not allow supercid and all that stuff.)
If I will get the update.. I just wanted to know after the official OTA update from HTC, will it be a like a new phone? (yeah, i know it will be factory reset.. but i wanted to know if my bootloader, rooting and etc. Will that remain?)
I want the all the rooting and unlocked bootloader not to stay so that i can start afresh with Revolutionary and flash one of the Sense 4 ROMs.. Please help!!
Thank you!

Yes you will receive OTA and bootloader will remain **unlocked**. All you need to receive OTA is stock rom, stock recovery and original cid (S-OFF or S-ON doesn't matter).
By the way if you are still on android 2.3.4 most probably your Hboot is 1.18 that means you can S-Off using Revolutionary and then supercid, root etc.. (you can revert easily to original cid and stock recovery anytime).
If you upgrade to ICS 4.0 with Hboot 1.27 you won't be able to S-OFF and supercid unless someone will find a solution. Actually Hboot 1.27 is not supported by Revolutionary.
Ota to ICS 4.0 will not factory reset your phone. Your data and apps will be untouched.
Honestly I don't understand if you are rooted or not. Unlocking bootloader by HtcDev doesn't mean you are rooted. Could you please clarify?
Hope it helps.
I'm on Blue Donkey v1.1 ROM and i have a Rooted k2_ul, S-OFF via Moonshine with Super CID and HBOOT 2.00.4444
I want to update to 4.2.2.
I'm going to flash my stock img through recovery and then I will try to get the update through the system update.
Is this possible, or I will have face any problems getting 4.2.2?
Also do I have to root my device again after the update or root will remain?
If root will not remain, is 4.2.2 rootable for our device?

Also change CID to one of the RUU available and than check for updates.

I don't think that you need to change CID, if you already have SuperCID.
Downgrade the hboot, flash the ICS RUU and check/apply the updates.
Root will not remain in this way (all is deleted, so make a backup), but you can easily unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com, flash recovery and flash Superuser.zip.
On 4.2.2 root is no problem.
Many updated their phone this way already.
