Updating to 4.2.2 - HTC One SV

I'm on Blue Donkey v1.1 ROM and i have a Rooted k2_ul, S-OFF via Moonshine with Super CID and HBOOT 2.00.4444
I want to update to 4.2.2.
I'm going to flash my stock img through recovery and then I will try to get the update through the system update.
Is this possible, or I will have face any problems getting 4.2.2?
Also do I have to root my device again after the update or root will remain?
If root will not remain, is 4.2.2 rootable for our device?

Also change CID to one of the RUU available and than check for updates.

I don't think that you need to change CID, if you already have SuperCID.
Downgrade the hboot, flash the ICS RUU and check/apply the updates.
Root will not remain in this way (all is deleted, so make a backup), but you can easily unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com, flash recovery and flash Superuser.zip.
On 4.2.2 root is no problem.
Many updated their phone this way already.

New firmware RUU...

hi guys i've a question for you: my Desire S is s-off, root but still with stock rom (and 4Ext recovery)...i know that i cannot do the OTA update so i have to choose 2 ways:
1) downgrade to s-on with hboot 0.98 and 1.28 RUU stock rom, then do the ota updates
2) flashing the rom 2.10 with RUU without downgrade
here is my doubt: if i flash now the RUU 2.10, the update will succeed but the device will turn back to s-on without root or the device will result blocked as doing the OTA update?
and when it will be available RUU 2.10 prerooted? i could use the RUU with the device S-off, maintaining root?
Why apply the update?
Stay well clear of it, as it will just limit your devices future functionality and remove future options that are currently open to you, if you want the update then supply a custom that contains it.
Never apply ota updates once rooted

Root ICS on Sensation?

.. for now Sensation is rooted (GB, s-off, stock) but I guess s-off will be gone after recovery, so is there a chance to root it again, but this time (after) OTA ICS?
thanks!
S-OFF isn't touched, so you can reflash CWM/4EXT via HBOOT once the update is done. You need to be 100% stock otherwise to get the official update, though

.. I see, as I understand s-off wont be gone after recovery (with original RUU) and then I'll run OTA ICS, should I be able to root again when on ICS?
thanks!

[Q] After official OTA update.. No unlocked bootloader etc. ?

Will I get the official OTA update if I have unlocked the bootloader via HTCdev method? Actually, I unlocked the bootloader via HTCdev on my sensation which is still in Android 2.3.4. (At that point I didn't know that doing that would not allow supercid and all that stuff.)
If I will get the update.. I just wanted to know after the official OTA update from HTC, will it be a like a new phone? (yeah, i know it will be factory reset.. but i wanted to know if my bootloader, rooting and etc. Will that remain?)
I want the all the rooting and unlocked bootloader not to stay so that i can start afresh with Revolutionary and flash one of the Sense 4 ROMs.. Please help!!
Thank you!

Yes you will receive OTA and bootloader will remain **unlocked**. All you need to receive OTA is stock rom, stock recovery and original cid (S-OFF or S-ON doesn't matter).
By the way if you are still on android 2.3.4 most probably your Hboot is 1.18 that means you can S-Off using Revolutionary and then supercid, root etc.. (you can revert easily to original cid and stock recovery anytime).
If you upgrade to ICS 4.0 with Hboot 1.27 you won't be able to S-OFF and supercid unless someone will find a solution. Actually Hboot 1.27 is not supported by Revolutionary.
Ota to ICS 4.0 will not factory reset your phone. Your data and apps will be untouched.
Honestly I don't understand if you are rooted or not. Unlocking bootloader by HtcDev doesn't mean you are rooted. Could you please clarify?
Hope it helps.

[Q] Stock/Custom ROM Flashing help

Hello All,
Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I've been searching for answers for quite some time but all was getting a bit vague. So I have to put my questions here.
1. I have HTC One S S4, 4.1.1 stock, HBOOT 2.15.0000, Rooted with bootloader unlocked, CID = BM_001 (Bell Mob Canada), Software No. 3.16.666.9, TWRP Recovery, made a backup of System and Boot using TWRP
*Rooted and bootloader unlocked using AIO Tool by Hasoon
Now I have some questions regarding stock and custom ROM flashing.
2. If I have to "unroot" or revert to stock ROM, do I have to do the following?
- Lock Bootloader
- Flash stock recovery (I suppose extracting it from the OTA zip?)
- Flash the OTA zip (I downloaded stock OTA_Ville_U_JB_45_S_BM_3.16.666.9_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_308167fun0bzhoz2tch0mh.zip, there was no RUU for this carrier)
- OR flashing the firmware.img from the OTA zip?
I am all confused about how I will flash stock firmware as there is no RUU for Bell Mobility JB, just the OTA which is 600+ MB.
Will that be all?
3. Can I flash a Stock ROM other than BM?
- Is there an International carrier free version that I can flash?
- Any drawbacks of this process?
4. If I want to go with flashing a custom ROM, will I have to something further? E.g
- S-off
- SuperCID (Not possible with HBOOT 2.15)
5. Other than battery Issue, I believe there’s this Camera issue which don’t understand in particular. Is there no ROM which can provide the same Camera functionality as Stock? What’s the ROM that provides the closest functionality to that of the Stock?

-you cant flash ota trough twrp, you have to wait for a ruu
(or get s-off, then you can flash older ruu and do normal ota trough stock rom)
first flash recovery then lock
your CID allows what you can flash + if no s-off you can go lower than your current state/hboot
for flashing only custom roms s-off of supercid is not needed, you might need an updated firmware for the new kernel on asop.
if you want only stock, there are also stock custom roms (with/without bloatware) that are recovery flashable
try facepalm or moonshine if you want soff.

Thanks. Maybe S-Off is the last resort.

2.20 RUU to 3.18 OTA, ok if unlocked?

ok so I have a ATT one x phone that I just RUUed to 2.20. I am successfully unlocked and rooted, twrp is installed and I am ready to flash a custom ROM. right now I am S-on.
Can I accept the OTA to 3.18 without consequence? should I S-off and then update? I would like the new firmware and radio and then just flash a custom jellybean ROM, or I can just do it manually afterward.
I have no problem just applying anew ROM but if I can get the newest radio/firmware first it would just save a few steps.
Don't take the OTA, you can't install an OTA on a modified device. Plus, even if it did work it would undo all the work you've done. The best way to update your firmware is via the 3.18 RUU, but you must get s-off first or you'll brick. So get s-off then run the RUU. Don't worry about relocking your bootloader, that isn't required. Once you've run the RUU just flash TWRP again and you'll be good to flash a ROM.
