Hi all,
Sadly my desire s got wet and the screen has very bad water marks in the display. I have attempted various methods to attempt to dry over the last three weeks with no luck.
My question is does any know a reputable supplier for a replacement screen, I don't trust the eBay ones.
Thanks in advance.
Apologies, just spotted an existing thread, answer. /doh

i posted about three hours ago, my transformer screen cracked, i have taken the device mostly apart, but how that heck do you get the stupid glass off?! Does not one person in the world know? ive been searching for hours! people have replaced their glass before you can buy it.
Is there any way to remove dust under the screen of a Sensation? I'm getting mine in two days and I know there's already going to be some underneath because I'm trading via the Marketplace.
I got mine through Craigslist and it has no dust
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
The only way is to disassemble the device and clean the dust out then reassemble it.
I think in The Netherlands (Europe) dust in your screen is covered with factory warranty. As it's a known factory issue HTC offers to fix the issue themselves instead of through your dealer. It's worth a shot contacting HTC.
Had my phone sent twice to HTC technical service in Poland (Regenersis), and, despite of having S-OFF'd and rooted device they did needed repairs. My phone had dust under the screen twice. Today I was given my phone back with full list of changed parts + big WOW - foam between digitizer and screen to prevent dust from coming under the screen. I think you should try contacting technical service. Wish you luck!
its probably had the digitizer replaced at some point... just remove the digitzer using a heat-gun, clean the dust out, re-seal and re-assemble.
there's guides out there about how to replace the digitizer that you can follow.
Only way to remove dust is buy disassembling the phone. The dust is usually between the gorilla glass and the screen. I had dust under my screen and was annoying. Recently got it replaced from HTC as it was on warranty. The service center guy said many people have come with this problem

Hey rhishavphukan,
How long did they take to give you your phone back?
Please use existing threads for such issues.
A simple search for "dust" reveals multiple possible threads.

Hi there!
Since May 2012 I'm a proud owner of the Motorola Motoluxe XT615.
I was very pleased with the phone. But after a Month dust collected between display and display glass.
I was very disappointed about that. I wanted to send it back to Motorola for cleaning, but Motoroala told me, that this isn't covered in their warranties :crying:
In October I got my phone back from the display repair, because I damaged it accidental...
From now on I tried the best to fight against the dust. So I desided to cover all holes with tape and caps.
But it did not help :crying: After a couple of weeks the dust was between display and display glass again...
Now there is my question to all Motoluxe users:
Do you have the same problem as me?
Don't you know what I can do about it?
I hope you can help me or that there is someone with the same problem.
Sorry for my bad English.
Regards,
Modders Vision

Hi, I have the same problem with my XT615, the salesman where I bought it, sent it back to the company for a repair. One week later when I received it , my Motoluxe was OK, no dust left. But 2 weeks later, the same problem reappear, the reseller (Bell) sent it back for a repair, maybe they will change it for a brand new one or an other model. After two repairs sometimes they change the phone. I'll know more in a few days.
Hello all, looking to replace the digitizer at some point. I have a lot of scratches already. Does anyone know if the digitizer part alone would be sufficient, or is it fused to the LCD thereby requiring LCD be replaced as well?
Figured someone here knew by now, can never trust the eBay sellers, hehe!

Is this just a dumb question or has nobody done it?
Have replaced an ipad 2 screen in the past, I always thought the two were separable. However, more recently I was told this wasn't possible with a particular phone screen that was cracked, the IP5S, and that the assembly replacement was required as they were 'fused'. I kind of figured he might be telling the truth as the largest quantity of item being sold was assembly (lcd and digitizer) and not the super cheap digitizer only. Maybe I was bamboozled? lol. Anyway, I hope in the case of the Idol 3, a digitizer replacement is enough. Bueller?

The touch screen and LCD digitizer ARE fused, do not be scammed by sellers on eBay. I've completely tore down my 1st idol 3 (which had a cracked screen)due to curiosity. It was really easy to teardown

thanks buddy! so i guess that means the LCD/digitizer assembly is a requirement, fudge... little expensive. of course for a crack a no brainer, but guess I will just learn to love the scratches, lol. cheers.

When you were doing the teardown, were you able to see how easy/hard it was
to change the battery? Several months from now, a bunch of us may need to know
how to do this.
(OP, sorry for off topic)

Yes, the battery is only held down by glue and a flex cable. Its very easy to remove
Spent nearly two weeks scouring the internet for a P6200/P6210 digitizer screen replacement tutorial with no luck. The farthest I've gotten is opening the back case and I've so far found this thread, which suggests but doesn't go into detail:

Can anybody help?
it appears from the link you attached that the digitizer glass is glued to the LCD.
