QHD has NOTHING to do with colors that POP. By the way, I am more than willing to take a picture of my Sensation and G2X next to each other. Sensation display blows it away in almost every aspect. Only aspect I like more about the G2X is it's blacks look better.
They say the HTC Sensation has 2 different companies creating screens for them so maybe the one you have isn't from Sharp which is said to be the better one,the thread about the two different screen manufacturers may have some answers for you

You again??? The great android developer who posted that thread the other day that was barely in english about comparing the sensation to the G2x. Didnt you say something very similar to this thread in that thread Mr. Developer? It seems like you are the one trolling because this is the 2nd thread you have created where you say the g2x is superior. So sell your sensation, keep the g2x and stop *****ing to us about it. and BTW, I do happen to own both the G2X and the Sensation. But seriously dude, this is the second thread you have created that I know of where you say something very similar comparing the sensation to the g2x. I love both devices but I do lean more to the sensation side.

The sensation has a qHD screen because its has 960x540 pixels crammed in the screen. Similarly the galaxy s2 and g2x and similar devices have a wvga screen which is 800x480 pixels. Its not a representation of screen quality but more of how clear the text appears. The galaxy s2 has a far superior screen because it has a super amoled plus screen even though its not qHD. The sensation has a s-lcd screen (i think) so the colours are not as rich but theyre still good. I dont know what the g2x's screen looks like so i cant comment on that however i think maybe you should do some research before posting

So you care more about brightness than anything else on a display? If so then stick with the G2X but other than being bright, it's really not that good of a display. Engadget said it's like a mediocre LCD and that LG skimped on this IPS panel.

That says a lot to the Sensation display if the G2X display is supposed to be brighter but the Sensation still performs better in direct sunlight. Want to see a video or pictures? I am on a video roll today!!!
You don't even know the difference between screen resolution and screen brightness but still you open a thread comparing screens? XDA forums are not Google search! If you search and can't find what you wan't then post. Those are the freaking rules! Someone must do something about Sensation's forums!

You're an idiot. The brightness of the screen has zero to do with the *type* of screen. qHD refers to resolution, not a technology. Also, the Sensation's display is MUCH nicer than the one on the G2x. Are you sure you didn't forget to pull the plastic off of the screen?
Oh and the G2x has an H-IPS LCD, *NOT* a NOVA panel.
OP is complaining about something he doesnt understand.

Every time I read one of the posts by this guy I want to throw up.
His English, grammar and sentence structure (or lack thereof) is not even on par with that of my friend's 10 year old nephew.
And if English is not your first language, use Google Translate or something. That should spit out better results than what you are coming up with on your own.

Eh? It means exactly what it says: Motorola will start to unlock bootloaders on future devices.
And Verizon won't allow it? Considering most of Verizon's non-Motorola phones already have unlocked bootloaders, and Verizon's Motorola Xoom has an unlockable bootloader already, that statement makes make no sense whatsoever.

SAMOLED has been exclusive to samsung only because of limited production. They have been increasing production and appear ready to supply other manufacturers.
Yes the SAMOLED display on the galaxy s is pentile. The SAMOLED+ is not. I guess we will have to wait and see for this qHD. It has been reported that SAMOLED HD coming in the galaxy nexus is also pentile.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
Now that they've managed to fix some of the issues that led them to the pentile AMOLED and SAMOLED, I'd be surprised if the RAZR's screen isn't a new variant of SAMOLED+ (SAMOLEDHD+? The names are getting rather ridiculous).
I like the idea of dual HD cameras.
Things are going to be really interesting for me once my NE2 (last one!) rolls around in May.
SAMOLED isn't exclusive to Samsung, it just that they couldn't produce it quick enough.
Now that they've found a way to produce SAMOLED and SAMOLED+ quicker, they've ramped up production to start selling to other manufacturers.
Although, even if the phone is qHD, it's still PENTILE, which looked HORRIBLE on my Vibrant, so I wouldn't get it unless it has SAMOLED+ (which I think Samsung won't sell yet since they need it for their own phones, like the SGS2).
Hopefully it has all the kind of specs I like, because no Moto phones have looked appealing to me for a few months.

Pentile at qHD will look quite different than pentile at 800x480. Personally, on my Fascinate, I noticed it, but it wasn't enough to bother me. At qHD, I'd be surprised if it bothered me, as well.

Looking for a good resolution phone, right? Well... you can go to Display Resolution and set At least 480x800 (or 400x854) pixels. The results will be all the phones that have that resolution or above.
Get an qHD device. Very nice resolution for reading. I love my Atrix's screen.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
Get ips or s-lcd 2 type display both are still tft lcd, but the best of
...
And on phones using those displays, the LG nitro HD and HTC one x, respectively, you get 1280x720 resolution
Wonderful wonderful displays. Though, if you can get the HTC one x, get it over the LG nitro HD.
Im still not sold on any form of amoled, their "infinate black," is not even (especially in a darker room), and those displays WILL burn in before you replace the phone on a two year contract.
Even worse, the higher resolution amoled displays (960x540, 1280x720), are both Pentile, meaning fewer subpixels and the display uses subpixel rendering to guess at the color, ultimately meaning less overall clarity that would otherwise be expaectable of a full RGB stripe of that clarity (though some people are not bothered by this)... also smaller low resolution displays of amoled form use pentile, for the same reasons the high resolution amoled panels do - the dot pitch is just too small for current amoled display tech to create an acceptably long lasting panel.
Just my take on this. I've had plenty of amoled displays in use (I never resell my amoled devices because they all have sole sort of burn in already ), and I simply do not like amoled for a serious daily driver anymore.

I prefer the i9023 Super Clear LCD version since it is better than the Super AMOLED. It is even better if it has Super Clear LCD 2, Super AMOLED Plus or HD Super AMOLED. But since its a nexus s there is only 2 screens available. Super Clear LCD and Super AMOLED. From a majority, the Super Clear LCD wins (from what i have read over the past few months)

Although you're getting better at trolling, the Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S, Galaxy S III, Nokia N9, Nokia Lumia 800, HTC One S, Droid RAZR and many other devices use a RGBG PenTile. That's not the only criteria in screen quality.
In other words, move along.
I also seem to have this problem (if you could call it that) the screen of my nexus s seems very dull and the dark colours like black for example, seem almost blue! I compared it to my old nexus one's screen (which is regular amoled) and the colours of it seemed far more vibrant, with black that actually looked black haha. Im about to check the model number to see what type of screen the nexus s actually has but can someone explain to me what this 'voodoo' thing is?

Here's what you want to do for amazing colors.
1) Root phone
2) Flash custom kernel that supports Voodoo colors (Matrix, Air, etc)
3) Download 'ROM Toolbox' from the PlayStore
4) Open it and navigate to 'Scripter' under 'Tools'
5) Tap the '+' sign at the top right hand corner
6) Create a new script
7) Name it Voodoo and copy paste the following:
Code:
#! /sys/bin/sh
echo 2540034400 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/red_multiplier
echo 2563125760 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/green_multiplier
echo 3001858880 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/blue_multiplier
echo -59 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/blue_v1_offset
echo -59 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/red_v1_offset
echo -59 >/sys/class/misc/voodoo_color/green_v1_offset
8) Tap the script you just made called 'Voodoo' and then tap 'Set At Boot'
9) Reboot
10) Troll all iPhone users and Voodooless Android owners with your INCREDIBLE screen
These are my personal Voodoo color settings. I have yet to find anything deeper and richer than this. These settings are awesomeness.
