Best kernel for Infused 2.0.4? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Just curious which is the best, and which are compatible. I would like to do some mild overclock settings - I've heard about Infusion-GB - is it the same as infusion 2.0?

Yes basically. I'm ocd to 1600 smooth
infused infuse helping other infused infuses?

If you want OC, Infusion-GB is the only choice.
There are three kernel choices at the moment:
The one that came with Infused (fairly outdated)
My "Daily Driver" (no OC, just undervolt)
Infusion-GB
Sometime I'll be doing another rebuild, and doing a "kangback" of all of the CM7 kernel commits. Not sure when, but gtg keeps pushing me to hop back and do some kernel catchup... I'm hoping I can Nandroid between Infused and CM7 reasonably easily.
Hopefully in not too long netarchy will release something. He was waiting for Gingerbread, and right after Rogers released it he caught a nasty cold that had him out of commission for almost two weeks.

Thanks guys, I couldn't find the infusion-gb link - can anyone direct me?

If your phone is hanging/freezing, your voltage settings need tuning.
Somewhere in the Infusion v1 thread there's a tutorial on hunting for the right settings. You can't just use someone else's settings - every device is different. If they weren't, Samsung would sell it as a 1.6 GHz CPU running at lower voltages.
Some people may not be able to hit 1.6 at all.

lagfix

I can't recall with all of the posts lately, but is there a voodoo lagfix for our beloved sgs4g? is there something stopping it from being applied? My coworker just got a charge and has a custom rom and kernel with lagfix already...
Just wondering if i missed something.
Nope, not ported over yet. Do you need it that bad? My phone is flying with the bali kernel coupled with the fugu mod, and if i wanted to OC it to 1.3-5.
Lagfix would be sick

I'm sort of experiencing lag as well, but how are you overclocking?
Tegrak wouldn't let me do it, nor would SetCPU. It wouldn't go over 1GHZ.
~little off topic, sorry
u have to have one of the bali kernels installed and then u can use tegrak. Set cpu will not work. I have also applied the fugu fix and have bali 1.4 and Tegrak has me oc'd at 1.3!

I already have the Bali kernel, and it looks like Tegrak all of the sudden works...
hmpf.
fugu fix (CWM Flashable 0.1) doesn't seem to have helped that much, maybe a tiny bit.

Yeah setcpu does work once you've changed the frequencies in tegrak first.
I used tegrak on stock kernel overclocked to 1.4 and was also using set cpu before I flashed bali. All is still working w/ bali even set cpu.

Those using Tegrak, once you changed the settings, did your phone started to vibrate nonstop??? I had to pull out the battery. Did the fugu tweaks, and have latest bali kernel. Is it supposed to vibrate like that?? Thanks for the help

mine did not, i get a vibrate at loading module then when i set the speed i get another vibrate. thats it. what are you trying to OC your phone at?
Mine did the constant vibrate once, although I don't recall what I was doing prior. Holding down the power button forced a reboot. Never happened again.
Also you will need to raise your voltages if you are going to go higher than 1.3 with pro.

[Kernel][KG2]Bali Tweaks + OC! 1.28Ghz

I added kernel tweaks from raspdeep's I9000 OC and got our bali kernel to OC, I'm running at 1.2 Ghz right now. I haven't tested this in terms of battery life, but there's a good chance your battery life may be less. So use with caution.
This 1.2 Ghz OC feels smoother and faster than stock, and better and more stable than 1.28Ghz. If you tried the 1.28 and gave up, try this 1.2, it's much better. I removed the link to the 1.28Ghz kernel because it was causing too many problems for everyone, and actually being slower due to freezing and overheating.
Battery life and stability not guaranteed
Use setcpu to control your cpu speed.
Credits to Dr. Honk for bali original, and raspdeep for OC source.
THIS IS FOR KG2 ONLY!
I have flashed this both on stock and on a custom KG2 rom, they both worked.
link removed because it was unstable - 1.28Ghz
Updated 1.2 KERNEL: http://www.multiupload.com/3QPMQY476F

I provide no guarantees that this will work, make a backup before you try this!
This was really only made for all the kids who kept asking for an OC kernel.
It has been suggested that the 1.2Ghz kernel may be more stable, so I would suggest trying that one instead of the 1.28Ghz kernel
Flashing right now . You beat me too it ;p

I'm currently using Imnuts' PBJ kernel and the Eclipse ROM, and I'm loving it
A lot of us like the Eclipse ROM
http://eclipserom.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=82
PBJ kernel is popular as well due to CPU tuning options, although I personally use Imoseyon kernel because it has been more stable for me.

This. Exactly this.
I was all TweakStock until the new Eclipse came out. I haven't even considered anything else since, and my battery life on PBJ is beyond anything I've ever had on this phone. There's no comparison for me now: Eclipse on PBJ.
Good to know I have considered re-rooting now there are more roms out. Sounds like eclipse is the wary to go.

[Q] Flashing a new kernel onto an existing rom

Can I flash the Infusion Kernel 1.8 onto Emancipation A: 1? For all intensive purposes I'm asking if the kernel can be flashed onto any rom.
I don't want to ask a stupid or noob question but, I haven't been able to find my answer anywhere. When I first started the rooting/flashing a rom process I was gonna go with Zeus Z-TR which I believe has voltage control built into it. After a bit of reading I settled on Emancipation but, I still wanna be able 2 OC/UV.
Also, I'm wondering about the beats audio that is built into the Z-TR rom. Is that because it comes with 1.8 kernel?
So, if someone can answer that question I would really appreciate it a lot.
I'd just flash the new synthesis kernel and as long as you're on gingerbread, you can flash another GB kernel you wish
