I used to use dragon but I had to many problems with it. I know there's gotta be a better 1

there isnt they all take like 3-4 minutes for every boot

I use the UV kernel, but it takes a while to boot up.

Try faux 123's 013 kernel, oc and super stable
Sent from the fastest g2x in the world

Can you post a link for that one please?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium

Yeah post a link for the download

Use the Faux 123 kernel & use Pimp My Cpu for the OC/UC....At 1.4 GHz OC i have gotten a 4105 score using Quadrant Advanced(Your results may vary)

Just google kernels g2x, you will find more than u need. I won't give up my combination, but oc'ed at 1.4g, it pulled a 6796 on antutu benchmark, just look at my avatar .
Sent from the fastest g2x in the world

I've gotten a 6798 on antutu usings fauxs oc/uv kernel at 1.5, but the phone does take alot longer to boot up.

Fix coming for those long bootups

What Am I Doing Wrong? (Overclocking Question)

Well, on my Inspire I have flashed a custom rom that gives me up to a 1400 score on my Quadcore tests, yet I see other people hitting 2000-2500, what am I doing wrong? I'm using Core Droid v5.0 with a flashed radio that speeds up my download and upload speeds. Do you guys have any advice on how to speed up my Android?
And by the way, yes I do have set CPU and I have the settings on Max (1024000) and on Minimum (245761) I also have set on boot ticked along with profiles to save battery life. Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely,
RootTheNoob
Are you running a kernael that can be overclocked?
How can I tell of it can be overlooked, and I'm pretty sure I am its the default core Droid Rom, or do I have to install the kernel separately as well?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
The default CoreDroid kernel isn't overclocked. Also if you have an overlooked kernel, setcpu would let you push past 1ghz.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I think you can use the leedroid kernel with coredroid can't you? If so, I'm using that one. It will overclock to 1.8. I only run at 1.2 though.
see post 957:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12123867&highlight=leedroid#post12123867
So what do I set it to to overclock it?
First you have to floash the kernel. The you use the slider in set cpu to overclock.
How do I flash it?
Sounds like you have some reading to do. Download the kernel to the root of your SD card. Then from ROM manager use CWM to flash rom from SD Card. DO A BACK UP FIRST THOUGH. Read the first few leedroid posts and that will help
No, I know how to flash things but what kernel do I use?
What kernel do I use with Core Droid?
http://leedroid.ftp.rshost.eu/DHD-Kernels/
it is the 2.2.9. Check his post here and it will tell you what you are getting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991848
Try the Inversely ROM...sure its stock based but the kernel can be oc'd to 1.8.... at 1.5 I got over 2600 and at 1.8 I got a 3309 and could do better sub some tweaking...right now though kernel is not a separate flash package.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Um..should be Ingersoll ROM.
Autocorrect fail....
What also helps is be fully charged...do your quad right after fresh boot and stop/shutdown all background processes you can..that's when you get best score.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
Edit: hey he just posted his kernel ad a separate package...will make things interesting.
Guys, none of those kernels worked , I had to restore my Android to a previous backup.
Anything I can do?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Coredroid 5 is based off the the leaked GB rom no custom OC kernels are available. 1500 is about what I get with that rom also. If you want higher quadrant scores you need a froyo 2.2 based rom and kernel.

You'll prolly have to download a Rom with an oc kernel and wipe everything before you install it.
May not be what you want to do...but might be the only way to get what speeds you're wanting.
Otherwise...you'll have to wait till there's an oc kernel for the Rom your using.
yelp there isnt Oc of the core with gingerbread.. they do a 2.2 with oc. i havent done those yet cause i do like this gingerbread.. Im just going to keep with this V5.0 MIUI guys have the OC kernal for their gingerbread but they have more steps than i wanna deal with.

Cm7 and faux 0.1.2

Just curious... I have revolution hd 3.1.0 with faux 0.1.2, but its randomly restarting for me. Is this because of the ROM? And if it is, and if I flash with cm7 rom do I have to remove faux kernel 0.1.2?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
When you flash CM7 it should replace the faux kernel with the CM7 kernel. CM recommends sticking with their kernel for the CM7 rom as well.
Thanks, the cm7 thread is developing and someone just pointed it out.
Exciting day... I hope cm7 will kick butt..

Which version of 0.1.2? If you opted for the higher clock speed version, your phone may just not be able to handle it.
If you flash CM7, it will replace the faux kernel with CM7's.
But if you flash CM7 I would recommend Faux's kernel for that as well. It's smokin' fast! I didn't have any shutdowns on the 1.78GHz, but I still went back down to the middle speed (1.67GHz iirc) just to prevent a lockup when the system is really stressed. Who knows, CM might have a better kernel than Faux after it's all said and done, but it's fun to play with as it all develops

[Q] Which ROM are you using?

Some data would be nice on this issue.
Thanks
I am using the latest Trigger rom.
From all the rom's I tried, i think its the best!

Weapon and Bionix are missing from the poll.
I used CM7 Nightly for a while, i just flashed Bionix Reloaded a couple days ago with Dragon-G2x v1.1.1 and its super fast battery life is a little better then CM7 but i have not found out a way to port over themes but it offers alot of options to play around with
Didn't we have this thread yesterday?
You forgot to list Weapon. Most stable daily rom out there. Everything works. The rom has been abandoned, but it really does not matter. It is that good.
I'm using the eaglesblood kang version. Probably the best cm7 based ROM. Before this I was using weapon
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Weapon gave me random reboots and it was sort of buggy, so I stuck with EaglesBlood with Faux's 0.4.7 kernel. I feel as if EB is just the most stable rom for my phone at least.
MIUI all the way. From my experience the most stable and the best battery life. At least it is for me.

Kernels what to use and what they do?

Well I'm still fairly new to this and looking to learn a bit more . I am pleased with my current Hellfire 2.1 now I'm looking to exntend my battery life to the best I can and I was told this can be done with kernels, Soo I was hoping I could get some suggestions and anything that could help me out understand this a bit more.
I am currently using some Faux Kernel that came with the current Hellfire phoenix release.
Lot of people say to use Trinity with this Rom but no one says why nor in the xda page of this kernel say much about what it does, I like to be well informed before doing any changes.
also how do you install a kernel just download and install from zip from clockworkmod recovery like everything else? or is there certain steps to it?
First off this should be in the Q&A...

I'm currently testing the trinity kernel, The 1.1ghz one for the better battery. Using hellfire phoenix 2.1 so far its the rom I've enjoyed the most.
Any other kernel that anyone could recommend for the best battery performance I could get I'm pleased with the stock performance of the tegra 2 I have no need for overclocks.
Harsh kernel is the best. Flash it and see for yourself

Morfic's Trinity ELP if your phone can handle it as it varies phone by phone. But I also use Faux123's kernels and they work well enough.

Harshs kernel is for ICS ROMs...

When choosing a kernel you should first know that they all are, in the most basic sense the same, but have little tweaks that make them all different. I know that the Trinity kernel has the Voodoo sound driver built in that is much better than any other driver. Also when choosing a kernel you need to just try a few and see how stable they are as not all phones are created equal. Some can handle the Trinity kernel and some can't (and same with all others). When you find one that works well with you just stick with it. And, as I like to say, to each his own.

it means that your phone cant handle the 1.44ghz cpu oc and 240mhz(20%) bus/gpu oc. not many phones can. every phone is different. some can oc high, some not so high, and some not at all. unfortunately, even though its the same phone, they can vary widely in performance.
aokp + matr1x
+1 derek.
AOKP build33 with Matr1x
AOKP B32 with air kernel. Runs quite nice. Although battery lasts only about 12h. On b31 with matr1x kernel I reached 15+h on my i9023 but it got unstable due to liveoc.
I like aokp a lot, but I am not sure about which is the best kernel. I think with the next milestone I will do a systematical test series.
