Hey guys just trying to decide on a phone I was wondering if the infuse is the phone for me any advice? Do you guys like it? If you could get a different one what would you get? Thanks

Honestly, at this point wait for the SGSII. The phone come out at the end of the month.
I couldn't be much happier with my Infuse. It's a great phone. However, the SGSII will be coming out soon, so you have a tricky decision to make.
The advantages the Infuse has are a 4.5" screen as opposed to the 4.3" screen on the SGSII. Also, you can walk into a store tomorrow and get it.
The advantages of the SGSII are it's dual core processor, and the fact that it will likely have an insanely huge development community.
Both phones have a 1.2 GHz processor, but the dual core in the SGSII will definitely give it an edge. However, I don't have any lag on my infuse whatsoever, so that is kind of negligible to me.
Also, even though the development community for the Infuse will be smaller in the long run, it isn't bad by any means.
It's really a win-win with either choice in my eyes, as right now I would choose my Infuse over anything on the market right now.

I wonder if dual core will make a "real world" difference? When multi-core CPU's for Desktop and Laptop PC's came out they made little difference until there were applications that supported them. It took a number of years for that to happen for other than high end business products.
Is more hype then fact?

Best phone I have ever owned. I love it. Fast, great battery life, and the screen is just simply amazing.
The dev section here sucks, g2g and the rest of the dev's for this phone work hard and create some great stuff but there are far too many arrogant and whiney users constantly putting down their work and crying like little girls because they don't understand how to follow directions or realize that roms are a work in progress. Soon the SII will come out and most of them will leave and this section will get a lot more sane and the SII section is going to go to hell.

dual core always makes a difference, it just doesnt make a 100% difference. there are times it might eliminate all lag making it seem like a world of difference, other times it can make zero difference. the big advantage is when background services are running or on a pc when you have multiple windows open and running different applications. but now pc applications are multi-threaded taking more advantage even when multi tasking is at a minimum.
also remember the dual core phones have faster ram and are arm cortex a9 processors not a8. there may be some new hardware level advancements that can be taken advantage of in the next android releases.
as far as graphics processing goes we have a good gpu and are comparable to a tegra in raw capabilities. though the benchmarks often give the tegra an advantage in speed i find the renderings to look better on the samsung. im not saying anything one way or another. the infuse can accomplish anything a dual core can as far as far as video playback and graphics but the dual core phones have there merit. look at youtube vids side by side of a sgs2 web browsing against other devices. it powers through flash a lot faster than anything else i have seen.

I, like MrEdf (I'm Mr. Ed 2 lol) don't see much of a difference when using todays line up of applications when it comes to single vs dual...
the ram is supposed to be better but we have no devices utilizing that to test with right now...so it is just speculation.
take the dual core phones out now and run them through real world scenarios side by side with an overclocked android device be it hummingbird or snapdragon and look for a difference....granted the benchmark will be better on the dual core and it truly is more powerful, there isn't much developed to at this point that will utilize it.
what I hope to see is better multitasking. i get completely scattered going back and forth between apps and my phone gets all pissed off about it.
I've mentioned in a few other threads my plans...I'll test several devices (atrix is already out of the picture) like the lg thrill, the gs2 and my infuse, prolly throw our inspire into the tests just for fun... in the end I will use the one I like the most
I love this phone....right now. ask me again in a month lol

if difference is fraction of a second then i think one can live with it.
at the end of the day both are just phones and for more complicated work we have laptops and netbooks or tablets.

I love this phone, the devs are awesome and their product is top notch. I have yet to find a rom our kernel that I wouldn't run. Everything is good and its just a matter of preference and a few specific features. The community its great, aside from a few bad apples, but generally they are very helpful and informative.
I too was looking at the sgII but needed a new phone and picked up the infuse, I have no regrets, plus the scuttlebutt if that the attain (att version of sgII) will have a physical keyboard.
All in all, infuse is they best phone I've ever owned and can easily see it keeping me happy for a long time.
Infused with gingerbread **** thanks GTG465X
Agree with many people here. Wait for the SGSII. Don't get me wrong, the Infuse is a great phone, but unless the SGSII is over $200 on contract, I would just wait for it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA App
The SGSII is certainly the phone to beat, however be aware that it has a smaller battery than the Infuse and with the dual core processor it's battery life is not great. Also rumor has it that AT&T's version will have a slide-out keyboard (confirmed by a friend of mine who works at an AT&T store). If that's the case I would have no interest in the phone because the keyboard will make it thicker. In any case you can get an Infuse and have 30 days to try it out before needing to return it. Samsung is having their release event later this month so you'd still be inside the return window if they announce something your interested in. I find the 1.2Ghz processor in the Infuse to be outstanding and don't find any speed complaints, in fact I'd trade better battery life for single core versus dual core. And our Infuse has the largest Super AMOLED Plus screen.

the Dual Core Phone is coming in less than 1 month. if anything it sounds like LG wants to kill the nexus S before it gets a chance.
Today you have the option to buy Nexus S. or Pre order the Dual Core phone with Tegra 2 GPU for max gaming perforamnce along with better camera and an SD card option and 1080p video recording capability
downside its 2.2 and unless it gets rooted early, 2.3 will take a while to be out.
seriously . i didnt know that they would release it so soon.
I do not particularly like LG at all, so I'll pass until someone else looses a dual-core into the wild.
No thanks. I'll be sticking with the nexus until the end of next year when a Dual-Core N3 is announced.
I like my updates a lot, tyvm

Yeah, I agree the phone SEEMS like it's going to be absolutely amazing, and it very well may be. But I don't want to wait for updates and/or devs to get the latest and greatest software.
And as someone else said, I'll wait for the Nexus 3 or whatever it will be called.

Yes its much more powerful. its from Nvidia after all
and i agree i hate the LG branding too.
No question the Tegra 2 device is the lastest and greatest based on dual chip solely. Its a monument release despite launching with 2.2. I'm not a gamer so that aspect doesn't interest me at all. I always keep two devices (1)cdma (2)gsm, for geek reasons. I really want to get both devices in my hand, then make a decision. We all know it will be the Tegra 2 device.
delivered with my Super Sonic Boom
Nah i hoped for 30-40% more power ... there is no need to take this over future Orion based phones.
http://news.softpedia.com/newsImage...he-Test-Deemed-Faster-Than-Hummingbird-4.png/
BTW. I lost hopes in NV after huge fail in dedicated PS3 GPU.
I'm not a massive fan of LG phones, even if the specs are good. Bearing in mind I've still not decided on an NS yet. I think it's a good step though, as someone has to push the dual core tech forward. When Samsung (which I have nothing against) or HTC start pushing the tech in their own form, whether it's Tegra, Orion or something from Qualcomm, I'll be more excited

Somebody know what is top LG android phone right now available in market ?
Only time will tell whether the Opt 2X is worth it. Which is why I say this is a brink in mobile technology -- the standard is changing. Nexus S represents generally the best of an era that is ending (era of single core, 3G, etc). It might be worth waiting to some. No one can tell (meaning, not people who praise dual-core, or people who try to say dual-core is useless/wouldn't get first dual-core, etc.) for now.
As for the direct/clean Google updates, there are ways to work around that with other phones (flashing ROMs, etc.). If the Opt 2X succeeds, you can be sure the dev. community will be supporting the device with those sorts of specs.
But again, time will tell. I want to get (and like) the Nexus S as much as the next guy, but I'm waiting a bit. If the rumors are true, and that dual-cores will come early 2011, the wait is not far off. Also, the slew of issues the Nexus S seems to be having (a quick glance at the threads here will show tons of concerns) is serving as a huge deterrent. I actually like Samsung products, but it's becoming clearer and clearer that Google/Sammy rushed the Nexus S out.
Can you name 1 game, no strike that, 1 APP that doesn't run flawlessly on the Nexus S already? Honestly, having a more powerful processor is not the answer, the software is what needs work and it has been that way for over a year.
Software has been lacking while hardware keeps improving, which is why we're still stuck in 2006 when it comes to game development.

people said the same thing when Nexus 1 was out then Galaxy S was released. they all run the same things. it just it runs better on Galaxy S.
and i assume the same thing will happen for future games for example.
its not just the aps. the thing has HDMI out to play video and games on ur TV. it plays videos at 1080P. it RECORD videos at 1080 and a better GPU . its just all rounder a better specs phone. and its less than 1 month away.
I'm just waiting for a phone that has a 4.3" screen that is smaller than the size of the Nexus S. Phones have way too much useless glass/plastic around the screen that serve no purpose. Performance I could care less, they all work fine for me. Hell, I thought the HTC Aria was pretty snappy when I had it.
Can you provide a link that proves it has a SAMOLED screen?

Forgive me for being offtopic for a moment, but I must ask, why are you here on these forums? Most of the posts I see from you are "LOL NEXUS S SUX!!!1!!11!" so I have to ask. Are you trying to convince people that they made a bad purchase and whatever phone you're currently using is better? Not trying to start a flamewar, merely curious about your intentions.
As far as your question regarding LG Optimus 2X, my answer is no. It runs what looks like a TouchWiz derivative and I detest TouchWiz. Its not that I hate all layovers, it's that I hate ugly/cartoony layovers. I don't mind SenseUI at all and actually wish that Google would incorporate some of their widgets into stock Android. And, personally, I don't understand the complaint about the lack of a microsd card on the Nexus S. Is 16gbs not enough? It is for me. Then again, I'm a guy who's had the same computer for the last two years and just barely made it halfway through the 500gb hard drive.
Dual-core processors are definitely the future, but nothing out there right now is optimized to take advantage of it and it will be some time before they do. Would today's apps run better? Probably. Would they run better to justify purchasing another phone? Not for me, yet. Also the 1080p video recording is neat, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've used the camcorder feature. Further, who the heck is gonna play phone games on their TVs? lol I can't imagine trying to play Angry Birds on a 42" screen.
On the topic of the screen, a quick googling of the specs seems to pull up it's just a TFT normal LCD screen like the MT4G, EVO, or Droid series. There was a picture LG sent to Phandroid showing their screen to be better than SAMOLED/Retina, but it was a photoshopped image made to generate buzz.
no not going to buy, because there is currently is no real world advantage to have a Dual Core phone. Hell most people dont even have dual core PCs
I bought my infuse just 3 months after buying the inspire. Luckily i got the inspire for $99 however I did pay full price $599 for infuse. I didn't realize the Galaxy S 2 was out already, now i want to buy the $850 Galaxy S2. It's getting great reviews all around. I can sell my inspire for $350 and take infuse back to best buy and get back $642 with tax, and that's way more then enough to get an international Galaxy S2 without anymore money out of pocket. Has all AT&T bands so 3G and 4G will be no problem. I like my infuse, however if i got the dual core GS2 I think I'd be satisfied with the phone for at least a year rather then 6 months like usual.

I'd do it if I was you. You don't need 2 phones. It's not like you can actually use both phones at the same time. So why not get the best phone out there instead of 2 good phones?
The galaxy is an amazing phone. I have both. The screen on the infuse is actually a hit better. Both devices feel amazing in hand. I like the search button on the infuse.
The speed of the gsII is no contest though. Its so fast its ridiculous. Touch Wiz4 is a marked improvement over tw3. Is it worth the $200 premium? Provably. Just not having an at&t logo might be worth that

Do you think the speed is more 2.3 or the two cores? When you hold side by side what one do you want o take off with for the day?
Do you REALLY need dual core? What is the "killer app" that uses dual core currently? Personally, I think dual core will be more important in a year or two, once some actual apps (beyond games) start taking advantage of dual core architecture. Right now, I don't see app developers really relying on dual core as the best platform to develop for - too few customers have them at this point. Just my humble opinion.
I share the opinion of deathpulse.

Without a doubt the SGSII.
It's a better device.
They're both great, but it's a super easy choice.
The processor is much better dual core or not.
TW4 is way way way better.
Android natively utilizes dual cores no matter what people are confused about.
So... how does a dual core make "android" materially "better" now? Does it scroll .0001 ms faster? Is that REALLY worth a smaller/inferior screen and less battery life?

Thanks! I'm more on the AOSP side of things and hopefully wont have to deal with any version of TW with either phone I end up with, already using cm6 mms.apk. So it comes down to cpu and memory but smaller display for 200$ more out of my pocket.... ARGH! Hard decision is hard. I just learned you can hold menu for search on the gs2 so maybe I would be ok with that (I use search as my appdrawer/contact's)
Man so much anger and hostility on these forums, calm down guys. Both phones are great it just depends on what your priorities are.
I hope my posts were not taken as "angry". I am not angry in the least - I am just trying to present a rational view of the two phones. The "big" selling point for the SG2 seems to be "dual core" but I have not heard of a single app that requires a dual core processor. To me this sounds like a GREAT marketing bullet with very little real world application. In addition, dual core processors use more power, so battery life should be lower. Overall, I am hoping someone tells me some solid and rational point that is counter to my view if my view is incorrect. I still have 3 weeks to give the Infuse back to AT&T and purchase an SG2. I do prefer a larger screen (came from the Dell Streak 5") and a longer battery life though so I do not see how the SG2 is in anyway a "better" phone. Yes it has a dual core processor - no I can't see a specific list of things/applications that a dual core would give me today that a single core does not. My answer will likely be different in 6 months time, so I will re-evaluate to see if new apps etc come out that require dual core and purchase the best device when that time comes.
Thoughts?

Galaxy S II:
Dual core cpu (vs. single on the Infuse, but supposedly still gets great battery life)
Faster GPU than the Infuse (but not by a massive amount)
1GB RAM (vs. ~640MB in the Infuse)
1080p video recording and playback (vs. 720p on the Infuse)
Gingerbread out of the box (vs. Froyo on the Infuse)
TouchWiz 4.0 (quite a few nice enhancements over TW 3.0 on the Infuse, and much sexier as well)
But it also has a smaller/less quality screen, correct? What is Touchwiz? I use ADW - does that work with Touchwiz? 1080p is no advantage for me either. Not sure why you would want this in a phone? hmm.... What does 1GB of RAM give me?

Same quality screen, just slightly smaller, which will actually make it look sharper.
Pretty much everything that came on your phone is part of or influenced by the "TouchWiz UI". The launcher, theme, and all of the apps that aren't from the Market or from AT&T (Phone, Messaging, Browser, Gallery, Memo, etc., etc., etc.). So the theme and pretty much all of the software on the Galaxy S II has been tweaked/improved/changed compared to the Infuse. Samsung's latest Android customizations and apps if you will.
Im thinking i will use the infuse until next summer..by then im the res.will be better and maybe quad core and better batt.life and of course i now require a 4.5 screen
So, in your opinion, I should return the Infuse and get the SG2? Any thoughts on which platform will have more development for it? THis matters to me more than Gingerbread and Tocuhwiz...
Also forgot to mention:
Full HDMI mirroring (vs. limited HDMI output on the Infuse)
NFC (only on some Galaxy S II versions, like the ones in Korea)
16GB and 32GB versions (vs. just a 16GB version of the Infuse)
8GB MicroSD card included (vs. 2GB on the Infuse)
What is NFC? I already have a few 32gb micoSD cards - that is a wash. Does the SG2 have network media sharing like the Infuse?

Galaxy S II will have 50 times more development for it.
Don't get me wrong, the Infuse is a great phone, but it's no Galaxy S II. Whether you should get it or not depends on what you can afford. You could buy the Infuse for $200 on contract, sell it for $500, and then get a GSII for $750. Just depends on whether or not the features/improvements I mentioned are worth ~$250 extra to you. If you have money to throw around, definitely do it. If $250 sounds like a lot to you, maybe wait 2-3 months until the Galaxy S II officially comes to AT&T and you can get it cheaper. Or if you're perfectly content with your Infuse and none of the things I listed sound appealing, that's a fine choice too.
Money is really not the issue .
My Nexus one just broke and I thought about just getting the Nexus S. However, I've been told to get a crappy phone and wait until the dual cores hit full swing. I was also told that once dual cores are the standard that Google and other manufacturers will make their OS predominately multi-threaded based.
I've been advised to get the LG Optimus now or getting something crappy like the Motorola spice and wait for the dual core.
better wait a little for better
Depends on what you need and want really.
If you like endless fun with rooting, etc. Nexus S for sure.
Otherwise, jump on the dual core train.
I rooted the N1 and had fun putting different ROMs. However, when things got busy I found it to be a low priority. I honestly want a stable smartphone. One that doens't require constant restarting, etc...
Dual-core is nice and zippy but I don't see a big difference between it and a premium 1Ghz single core phone. I am very happy with the MT4G at the moment and have had it since Day 1. I will be waiting for Kai-El, but the SGSII is tempting if it does indeed come to tmobile. I would suggest you to save money and find a good deal on the xda marketplace for a single core phone then upgrade to Kai-El when it comes out. Good luck! Hope I helped.
The way I see it, there's a couple options you can go with.
1) Wait and see. This option is the most boring, but possibly has the most potential. However, I wouldn't recommend it-- unless you're on a regional carrier or Sprint, there's going to be a dual-core option for you immediately (and even then, that's going to change in a matter of days for the latter).
2) Buy an older, cheaper, less capable smartphone off-contract to keep yourself amused, then sign up for a dual-core phone when one strikes your fancy. This isn't a bad idea-- get an old phone that developers have already cracked wide open, get your fill of mods and custom roms, then switch to the dual-core phone when you feel performance is no longer up to snuff. Right now, dual-core isn't imperative for a silky-smooth user experience, but you damn well know it will be going into the future. Don't sign a contract for a phone with one core if you feel like you need to get the most out of the UI for the majority of that two-year period.
3) Take the plunge right away. Unless you're on Verizon like me, there shouldn't be much of a dilemma with dual-core phones. The Sensation 4G is nothing short of a triumph, the Evo 3D is both novel and amusing, and the Atrix 4G is gonna be even better than it already is once it gets Gingerbread and dumps the old MotoBlur. The trick with Verizon is that its only dual-core phone right now is the Droid X2, which lacks LTE. Still, that's what I bought, and I feel confident with the purchase. It's gonna be ready for whatever software's thrown at it over the next year or two.
imho, since you're interested in dual core, better wait a bit. See what will be announced till the end of year or begining 2012.
In the meantime, could grab a cheap lg optimus one which still has plenty juice left in it for many months to come and customize the sh1t out of it with plenty roms and kernels and the upcoming update to gb.
This way you'll have something to tincker with while standing by on the safe side to see what plans the companies have on dual core

You are not going to see difference between single and dual core.
All the games I play run max fps even in single core.
Also you dont need dual core to browse website.
Really depends on what you want(battery life, ram, screen size, screen type).
I own desire hd and galaxy s II now.
Played with galaxy S, atrix, g2x.
I prefer desire hd over all because of screen size and mod.
Just so you know, not inviting comparisons or a flame war. The more Tegra phones shipped, the more development.

Agreed more Tegra phones the better, looks alright not quite as pretty as the G2X though
The only thing the Samsung has for it is the SuperAmoledPlus screen. Without that, I wouldn't go near Samsung and their crappy phones. (SGS2 seems to be pretty sweet though hardware wise).
[Edit]
Not saying I'm not happy about the Tegra Phones. All phones should have Tegra Processors. I really hope Tegra becomes the mainstream GPU to use so it makes development for Android easier. Coding a single app for 400 phones is stupid. We need standards....
I'm just saying I love the G2x and the above doesn't interest me.

Yup, only thing that makes SGS2 stands out of the screen, which I have to say is ****ing gorgeous.
I agree. It would be awesome if Tegra became the Android standard. That way we would have to worry about compatibility issues. That being said. There are a lot of other things the Samsung has going for it besides there Super AMOLED displays. The GSII arguably has the best camera out of any mobile device and it definitely performs in low light situations better than anything else. Miriam from Engadget even posted low light photos to her Twitter account because she was so ammazed how good they looked. Samsung is also moving in the right direction with Touch Wiz whether any die hard vanilla Android peeps want to admit it. Every version is getting less and less intrusive while adding very nice features to the Android OS. HTC on the other hand is going in the wrong direction with Sense. They are making it more and more intrusive with resource hogging eye candy that serves no purpose. Lastly Samsung is playing nicely with the DEV community by unlocking its bootloaders and giving phones to devolopers so they can do there thing. Samsung is no longer the same company it was back in the Behold II days. They are now at the top of the list when it comes to making nice looking devices with the power to back it up.

So I'm at work (I now work at UPS, btw) and this late 20s, early 30's woman comes in looking to ship a package. I go ring her total up, then I noticed out the corner of my eye the slide from the sidekick 4g.
So we had a short conversation about how we both like a good qwerty and how nice it feels. It made me feel good because my best friend, who has an EVO, keeps telling me not to get one because nobody has one.
I'm not one to buy a phone based off of popularity, but based off of what I like. In about 2 weeks I'll be (officially) part of the SK4G family!
It really is the best Keyboard in TM's Android line up. It just seemed to be buggy from the start, not to mention considering it's Samsung updates come once in a Blue Moon.
I've always liked the Sidekick family, even though the first Sidekick I had was the ID. It served me well until I lost my data plan. I heard the LX and SL or whatever else there was, were great improvements and now I'm the proud owner of a 4G. I love it! It's got the feel of a Sidekick with all the perks Android has to offer. My only qualms are battery life and (occasionally) speed and lagging. I rooted my phone, and it seems to be performing much better, but this is all fairly new to me, so I'll have to have a friend who is more experinced with rooting and ROMs take a look at it.
Note... the sidekick may be fully functional, and a great messaging phone, but it is also a low end smartphone. You will notice graphics lag everywhere, it won't hinder you from doing anything, its just not pretty.
What im saying is... don't compare it to the evo. Its a real shame that Tmo doesn't have high end keyboard phones. On the other hand, I can actually type faster on the vibrant then on the Sidekick. The bigger the screen, the easier virtual keyboards become.
My low end sidekick 4g is way faster than my cousins evo, sense bogs you phone worse than touch wiz.... those " loading" screens when going back to the homescreen are annoying as heck, and not to mention the repopulation of apps when opening the app drawer too... it almost reminds me of my old g1...................................

Now that I think about it, my sk4g was on par to Droid x / Droid 2 / Droid global on quadrant easily low 2000 scores every time.... I have a very technological family, we always compete who's is faster.....
Its embarrassing a $150 phone is faster than "high end" phones.... now nexus' are a different story ;-)

Who cares who its marketed to. I'm 21 and own one. Its just a phone. Beer is marketed to adults only, and its seems pretty popular to teens. I love this phone, and on top of its speed, it has flash. Not many high end phones have it either.
I wish the camera had a flash...my only gripe. I would talk this phone up to the end of the earth if it did.
I honestly hate the low end specs....i loved the keyboard and 4G speeds maybe even form factor. Needs bettet larger screen flash bettet cam etc...i had to leave the.phone behind

Even though the perfect screen size for me is 4'', this phone has everything I wanted. And remember, 1ghz and 512mb ram were at one time high end specs.
It was either this phone or the epic, which is the only other phone I like, ever.
I've always loved the Sidekicks, I've owned 3, but I decided to get the 4G Slide for my daughter.
It has the best keyboard ever, hands down.
I am in my late 40s and my wife & I have had Sidekicks since Sidekick II. Still best keyboard on the market!!

You obviously haven't looked at the Tmo lineup of phones in more than a few months.......
MyTouch 4G Slide...
Last I checked 1.2ghz dual core Snapdragon processor with Adreno 220 gpu(yes, the same gpu as the Sensation, Amaze and Evo 3d), 8mp camera, 1080p video AND A KEYBOARD would be considered high end.....
The Sidekick 4g doesn't hold a candle to the MT4GS...not one iota. Sorry to those I might offend but I'm speaking from experience.....as the SK4G and the MT4GS are a couple of the phones I currently own and use every day....in fact I'll go as far as saying I'd ditch my SK4G for another G2 given the opportunity. Giving up the G2 for a SK4G was a big mistake to start with as the G2 had a lot more going for it. The ONLY thing the SK4G has that the G2 doesn't? A FFC....who uses it anyways?

Exactly.
It's UNDERCLOCKED from the factory to 1.2ghz. It should actually be running 1.5ghz. If a single core G2 can be OC'd to 1.9ghz, imagine overclocking both cores..?!??!
IMO from what I have read the hummingbird kicks the crap out of almost everything on the market still in terms of graphics performance, I just wish we could OC higher like the G2 but we aren't going to get that kind of support needed for a kernel that crazy
I'd love a dual core but I can't deal with a touchscreen only phone or a crappy keyboard (tried G2 and MT4GS) I couldn't ever get speed like I can on a sidekick. I went from an LX to a G1 and that was a nice keyboard but every phone I had after that was painful to type on. I will be holding out until another phone comes out with a comparable keyboard before I upgrade from this one. A dual or quad core would be nice but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything major right now besides being able to tinker with it ;P

Well not really. The Sensation is clocked at 1.2 ghz. And so is the Evo 3d. But the Amaze has a 1.5 snapdragon s3 processor. Different from the Sensation and evo 3d. Even if the it was 1.5ghz it still won't get the same performance as the Amaze and Evo 3d because they are newer processors. I believe that when you overclock a phone with dualcores it overclocks both core. Not just one..

Wrong and right. We can currently oc to 1.7 using the virtuous unity kernels but if you try to oc using apps like setcpu it will show as being overclocked but it only oc's one core since setcpu doesn't support it yet. So it depends on how you try to oc. However setcpu works just fine for underclocking both cores.

having had a galaxy as well I can personally say FROM EXPERIENCE samsung products need more polish. Hummingbird or not you'd never know cuz they run like turd.
have you not realized how pitiful samsung products are. After the 3 samsung smartphones I've had now I can firmly say FROM EXPERIENCE You can put any processor or nice screen in it but as the saying goes you can cover a pile of crap in gold but its still a pile of crap...
TRUE WORDS FROM SOMEONE WITH FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE AND HAVE OWNED THEM. (vibrant, galaxy s 4g, sidekick 4g, g2, mytouch 4g, mytouch 4g slide
Not just writing about what I read elsewhere LOL.

I have owned every SK since the B&W, with the exception of the slide, and having given the 3 immediately away as an "Oh Crap, it's your birthday today?!" gift to an ex.
Extremely solid phones, from my experience. Having been a Jr./Sr. High schooler through most of the models, I put them to the test. In fact, on multiple occasions I had pulled out my SKII and played hackysack with it. I also sprayed it to the point of immersion with a hose one day when doing yardwork and the lil guy just kept on goin. The 3 was a bit finicky, but I enjoyed making custom skins for it. From what I hear the slide was a piece so I'm glad I avoided that one.
My phone prior to the SK4G was the G2, and I have given a fair comparison in another thread so no need to do that here. I see the strengths in the G2 and if I were not a SK guy I would have been extremely happy.
Now, the only reason I've ever had to hate on the SK is the false market that they attempt to sell it to. When the 1st gen hiptop released I was 13. For as cool as it was, it was underpowered for me. They have continued to give me outdated or slow hardware ever since. I would easily have spent more money every single time for a phone that would actually hold it's own amongst the big boys for a while. Looking at this years model - Hummingbird... 512mb ram... 3mp camera with no flash .. really?
However, I love the design. I've been spoilt for fast typing keyboards (On previous models I would out-type the screen and have to wait a good 10 sec to watch it get typed out. Heck, I've written 3-4 page reports on the LX during the class it was assigned). I've been spoilt for multitasking via jump shortcuts. Bringing android into the mix was a great move.
