[Q] screen sometimes goes black and doesnot wake up ,when i answer a phonecall - HTC Desire S

no matter what buttons u press,it willnot react.
and after a few minutes,i could wake it up pressing power button.sometimes even this could not work
i may use my collegues phone to call me again to wake it
this condition occurs sometimes on some ROMs,not always, which make me confused.
i have searched our bbs, without answers.

Which ROM(s) does this happen with? Try disabling screen on animation.

are you using a screen protector?
if you are then you need to cut a hole in the screen protector for the proximity sensor

Did you ever follow the suggested advice and cut a hole in the screen protector where the the proximity sensor is?
I've used LBC mod for months now (without screen protector) and have never had this problem.

It does and doesn't make sense, why would they supply it if it didnt work and why wouldn't it work>???

You are putting plastic over the screen. You may want to "realign the screen" That way it can calibrate for the new Protector. That's what I always do on my Kaiser.

its a minor scratch nothing to special ... buy a new screen for just a tinny scratch pleeaassee !

What I meant was that according to what I know there is another protecting screen over the main touch screen so you can just replace that one.I think that there is protective screen over main touch screen because when you press too hard on screen you can see main screen gets discloured for a while.
So just replace that.

Do you see any cracks on the digitizer (Touch Glass). Also does touch works? If your touch works that means your digitizer is fine and you only need to change LCD screen.

If it does not then you have change the digitizer
Well I if the phone is in warrenty then show to HTC service centre if not still show to HTC service center and let them identify the problem and change that from outer local repair man as HTC will charge you heavily

faulty proximity sensor during call

When I make or answer a call the proximity sensor plays up , when I take the phone away from my ear the screen stays black and doesn't come back on unless I can cover the proximity sensor again, and even that will only work some times.other times I have to press the unlock button to get the screen back on. Any ideas or fixes, anyone else experiencing this ?tried a factory reset.

Flash Stock Firmware and Relock Bootloader and Remove Warning Screen and send the phone to repair if you still have warranty.
I had the same issue with another device, never got rid of that problem, only had ****ty ass workarounds only on Cyanogenmod possible.

Not that I know of, sorry.
might sound daft but, if you have a screen protector is the hole for the sensor in the right place or even there at all?

You're right there's no hole, but I've had other phones and there has been no hole in the protector and it didn't affect it.

Mine was doing it intermittently, when I lifted the protector it was fine. Maybe the sensor is particularly sensitive?

Yes removing the screen protector fixes it but I need the extra protection so I still need a calibration fix.

Cracked screen and now does respond

Hi everyone
The issue is that my screen cracked, no reason, I didn't sit on it or in didn't crash in the floor, simply cracked in my jacket pocket.
Now the issue is that half of the screen is not responding.
Is that normal? A small crack makes the touch completely unresponsive?

Yes. You've broken the touch screen, what do you really expect to happen?

Yes, and many do have problems. I work with touch screen systems for my job, so know how they work and how damage can affect them.

I think mostly phones which have LCD and Digitizer fused together seize to work. Phones which have different LCD and Digitizer continues to work ..
