Hi all
Yesterday I wanted to try and play some streaming videos using upnplay and moboplayer. However, whatever file I choose in Upnplay, moboplayer continues to come with an error message saying: can't load (insert filename) file.
Playing the video locally works normal, it seems to be a problem between upnplay/moboplayer.
If I choose rockplayer it works well, but rockplayer does not play mkv files very good.
I also tried diceplayer. This works excellent, however I only have a trial version, I can buy the program, but I think moboplayer should do the trick as well??
Any suggestions?
Did you load the moboplayer codecs?
If you did try removing and reinstalling it.
I did download the codecs. And I did uninstall and reinstall moboplayer itself, I will try to uninstall the codecs and reinstall. However, codecs work fine, since playing from tab itself gives no problems...
Did you also remove/reinstall upnp?
Try also clearing defaults & cache for both apps and test
Will try this stuff when I am home again, thanks in advance.
Had the same problem. Downloaded Daroon Player. Works like a charm and has much better UI imo. And its free

Same here, this issue seems to occour after the 3.2 update. Not sure who is to blame. Upnp takes longer to load, and files which did load previously seem to fail now.
I did not yet install 3.2 and am reluctant to do that, so my problem is not related to this update
ok, maybe you just need to recycle your router/network. This sometimes resolves streaming issues. Since you already re-installed the apps. Have you tried this?
No, I did not reinstall everything yet, I will do that when I'm home again. Bedankt voor de tips
Ok I tried everything. Reinstalled everything, nothing worked. So I figured... Maybe it is my Upnp server. I tried using my PC as a server and.. It worked perfectly with moboplayer!
So I was a o look at the settings of my NAS. And I saw that there was a space in my folder name! I removed the space by using a underscore and.... Voila, it worked!!!
I feel kinda stupid, but at least it works now! Although the MKV file still gave trouble for moboplayer. I had to use software decoding, but that gave a choppy mess... So I reconcider getting diceplayer instead since it worked flawlessly on the trial version. Damn buggers only increased the price yesterday from euro 2.69 to 3.30

Is anyone's VPlayer FCing on them? I was using it yesterday morning and afternoon and all was fine. Transferred some files over to the phone just now and now I can't use the app anymore as it keeps on FCing on me. The app is removed from the Market as well so I'm not sure if the two are related.
Also, does anyone have a video player app that they recommend? It has to be able to play RMVB files smoothly.
Gave ArcMedia another try after speeding up my SD card and it doesn't lag anymore, but the audio and video slowly gets out of sync.
As for VPlayer, it continues to FC. Looks like we got shafted again.
I have a IRREPLACEABLE video on my phone that plays fine. When I try to play it on my PC or when I transfer it however, all I get is audio.
I've done a reboot. All other videos work fine except this one and 3 others I shot recently. Same situation. On the phone = fine, PC...no bueno.
I have a codec pack installed, it is too large to attach via email, and astro tells me the 3GP was not found...but it's there...and it plays.......HELP!
Try a second pc?
Sounds like a codec issue to me.
this is not a signature I type it in every time it may be sent from my computer or my phone.
Didn't work on another computer either. I copied it to my harddrive, played it with 3 video players, and finally loaded it in video editing software. It saw the video.
I have the K-lite MEGA pack installed though. Weird.
ffdshow > k-lite plugin codecs

vlc player on windows usually plays whatever i throw at it
Handbrake is free and will convert the 3GP file to a format that is more pc-friendly. HTH

Yeah... I finally got it in my video editing software. As I stated above, I already have the k-lite pack installed. It was weird...wouldn't work on VLC, WMP, or Quicktime...just audio.... gave some weird error.
Even on the phone, these videos won't create a thumbnail in the gallery or astro, but all play just fine. STRANGE!
I mostly use mxplayer but I used to use BSPlayer also. It was especially useful because it would automatically go online and retrieve subtitles. Now that I have installed Abduction ICS it crashes.
Does anyone know of a video player that can retrieve subs online?

i've had similar issue with apps crashing after upgrading to ICS, i used TI backup to restore. and some apps kept on crashing. i had to uninstall, and clear the davlik cache and reinstall from market. this worked for some apps. you may want to see if this method helps.

Thanks for that tip. I had extracted the app from a previous Nandroid because I could not remember the name of it! Seems to work okay now. Could not find subs for the movie I was viewing but at least it ran properly and did the search.
You can also try mvideoplayer hd, it's free and as a very nice UI it also as the option for download subtitles.

BS player is working now. I might check this out also. Thanks.
Does mVideoPlayer HD stream form SMB shares?
I use a registered copy of ChewTune to rip iTune TV shops for watching on my TF700.
The transfer will state completed and apepar the correct size but about halfway to three Q's through the show it will free with a loud buzz.
Nothing I have tried such as moving beyond the point will help.
Tried several movies players with same results.
My question is there software that would scan the movie file and report or fix coding problems?
Thanks

Sounds to me like you either have something configured incorrectly in the ripper, or its buggy, but in either case it is unlikely a simple edit will fix the videos. The problem isn't likely a playback issue on your TF700, but try playing the vids on a pc and see if they work. If they do you might need to encode them differently. If not, then you might need a new ripper.
I am experiencing similar thing, but any show/movie stutters from beggining.
I use BS Player which worked perfectly fine until 4.2 version of android.
I think it is the ROM, not the movies. As mentioned, they work fine on PC/BoxeeBox - and they worked just fine on infinity, too - but not anymore.

Using MX Player on both 4.1 and 4.2 with no problems at all, perhaps your problem comes from BS Player.
I can second. I'm on CM10 using MX Player, and it can play my 1080p/5.1 bluray rips without any problems.

Been there, done that! Guys, loose both BS and MX and get Dice Player and all your problems will magically just go away! Works flawlessly over wifi too. Took me a month to figure this out and I had all your same issues. Thanks @jtrosky!!
When I was running ARHD on my Inspire, I was able to stream videos from my computer using ES File Explorer. I was able to play mp4, avi & wmv files without problems. The videos would play in either QuickPic, Streaming Media Player or ES Media Player & would start playing after a quick buffering of only a few seconds. Now I've switched to the Blackout ICS ROM and just discovered streaming video isn't working for all media types. It works for mp4, but not with avi or wmv. When I hit the file in ES, I see QuickPic start but then it immediately closes. If I long-press the file, I can Open As..>Video and select a player. But playback doesn't start immediately. It seems like it's transferring the entire file over to the phone before playing. If I copy the video file to my sd card, it'll play fine.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling ES & QuickPic. I installed other media players as well. I tried with several different video files. Nothing seems to be able to stream the video over my LAN. I also restored a backup of ARHD just to verify it worked as I remembered. Everything played fine. Any ideas as to why this wouldn't be working with Blackout ICS or how I can get it to work? I have all the apps set up exactly the same as I did with ARHD. Could this be an issue with ICS compared to GB?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Have you tried another ICS or JB ROM?

That I haven't tried yet. At least not in connection with this issue. I've tried a couple of other ICS or JB ROMs in the past but Blackout was the first one that I liked enough to keep on my phone awhile. If I can't find a solution that makes this work with this ROM, I'll try another.
Thanks for the suggestion.
