I use a registered copy of ChewTune to rip iTune TV shops for watching on my TF700.
The transfer will state completed and apepar the correct size but about halfway to three Q's through the show it will free with a loud buzz.
Nothing I have tried such as moving beyond the point will help.
Tried several movies players with same results.
My question is there software that would scan the movie file and report or fix coding problems?
Thanks

Sounds to me like you either have something configured incorrectly in the ripper, or its buggy, but in either case it is unlikely a simple edit will fix the videos. The problem isn't likely a playback issue on your TF700, but try playing the vids on a pc and see if they work. If they do you might need to encode them differently. If not, then you might need a new ripper.
I am experiencing similar thing, but any show/movie stutters from beggining.
I use BS Player which worked perfectly fine until 4.2 version of android.
I think it is the ROM, not the movies. As mentioned, they work fine on PC/BoxeeBox - and they worked just fine on infinity, too - but not anymore.

Using MX Player on both 4.1 and 4.2 with no problems at all, perhaps your problem comes from BS Player.
I can second. I'm on CM10 using MX Player, and it can play my 1080p/5.1 bluray rips without any problems.

Been there, done that! Guys, loose both BS and MX and get Dice Player and all your problems will magically just go away! Works flawlessly over wifi too. Took me a month to figure this out and I had all your same issues. Thanks @jtrosky!!

I think someone told me of one that you have to pay for a few weeks ago, but wondering if there is some free apps now. For the pc there is a bunch like VLC, Gom and KM player that play every video format. It would be nice to be able to take advantage of the hdmi output.

No Way!!! I'm going to do a search and see if I can find it. It must be on the VLC website I imagine.

I didn't see it on the vlc website. Do you know where to find it? I did a search, but nothing came up. It did mention the ability to play files from your computer remotely, but that is streaming so it wouldn't be HD or great quality I imagine.

Same... there was one talked about for WM also, but never seen. Please share.
VLC hasn't been ported for Android yet.
That said, the guys that are releasing a PSX emulator and working on an Android N64 emulator, are supposedly going to working on porting VLC in their spare time. http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/04/playstation-emulator-coming-to-android-courtesy-of-yongzh-and-z/

I just installed yxplayer and it won't play a 1.4gb mkv file well at all. It is just a picture every few screens. Maybe the phone can't handle the file size, but my friend has an mkv player he got from china and it is bad a$$. It plays all file types and has mini hdmi out and I doubt it has a processor and ram as much as the evo. It's been out a lil while I'm sure. It has it's own screen but will output to an hd tv and looks just like you were playing a blue ray.
Probably thats the case... my mkvs were 640x480 anime shows. Havent tried anything hi-def...
On a side note, yxplayer is available as a trial only (2 min play time limit, tho some vids played for more and some reqlly did cut off after 2min), and if you wanna buy/pirate it - you won't be able to. The app for some dumb reason uses phone's imei for registration, which is gsm-only =O

Ok, so I'll wait for vlc, or another player to come out. Although I really won't need to play many movies on my phone. I will use my laptop if anything.
Dont forget about CorePlayer... they're working on a version for android as well. CorePlayer for winmo played mkv and nearly everything else I threw at it (performance on the other hand was a totally different subject, lol)
Any idea of a release date for Coreplayer? I've been converting my files for the longest time now but sometimes I don't get a chance to in the case of downloading a football match.
Its been in development for year(s) now, waiting for better NDK on android... Froyo seems to be exactly what they were missing so we should be seeing the app in few months, i hope...
I transfered some 720p .mkv files to my tablet (external sd) and the video plays fine in both the built in player and in mx player but I don't get any sound. If I play a smaller .avi file it plays fine with sound in both players. Any ideas?
Sorry if it has been posted before.
try using another player like diceplayer. I used to have this problem when playing mini 720p with the stock player, but not with the diceplayer
I'll just leave this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686675
Long story short: use software decoding for the audio.
Dice player works fine. Can I somehow watch full screen with out the black row with the three dots in de bottom?
Starting to hate this tablet more and more every day..
If you're rooted, get GMD GestureControl from the Play Store, and install Busybox.
Im noot rooted. Will probably root when a good port of AOKP is out

Why hate this tablet? it's the 3rd best atm!
And it's not the tablet's fault! Your video might have an unsupported audio format, or it may be corrupted.. Try playing the video from your tab on the pc. And can you precise what format is the audio?

New device, new fw, new problems. Most will be fixed by updates. The build.prop tweaks, for instance, made my .17 DE internet browsing _in powersave mode_ totally lag free (!).
You should wait for firmware updates, though. I'm afraid of what will happen if you accidentally brick your device.
Sound in players is accomplished by choosing software decoding of the audio.
I need help folks.....I have downloaded mp4 movies to external card and i have galaxy tab 2 gt p 3113.Anytime i try to play the movie using Bs player it plays for 20 mins or 30 mins it stops.I have tried several movies is there a reason why this would happen? What am i doing wrong i usually transfer files from my mac to the external card.....please help me out i have been trying to use my external card for the last 12 months no luck.any help will be appreciated.Thankyou and keep up the good work folks.....
Just wondering... Could it be a player's problem? Did you try using another player app? I don't seem to have this problem playing mp4's in the stock player.

This right here tells me that you most probably have a problem with your video files. Sorry, I am not familiar with the BS player (BTW, who the hell in their right mind would call their software BS? Huh?), so I can't help you with that. But if the stock player throwing an error, I would suspect the video files...

Hi,
I have recently bought Nvidia Shield. Everything works fine except playing webm. It stops after a second or two. Does webm work for you? http://clips.vorwaerts-gmbh.de/big_buck_bunny.webm
Of course if works. All you need is a decent player like vlc or MX.
I probably wasn't very accurate. Try to play that webm using Chrome. For me it plays about second or two then frezzes.
Same here, it used to play fine before, now it wont, same for other chrome based browsers, ive tried opera and chromium
Latest (1.4) update fixed that problem

Oh, I hardly use the browser to play videos. Usually I save them and watch 'em later.
New update? Hmm, but once you've updated there's no way back, right?
Unless, you've root etc.
Ok so here's the deal...
Ive had the phone for like a month now. But i just realized that the phone has an odd problem with playing videos (some high quality ones)...
The problem is the movie constantly lags and gives a maximum of 2 or 3 fps...
Ive tried different players and using other file explorers...
And one thing i have noticed is that the time of the video keeps jumping and ticking like 00:48 to 49. 45. 47 and then 50....
Ive tried restarting the phone and the software is up to date...
I updated my phone to newest fw (.235) and I'm using MX Player Pro, watched the new logan movie in 1080p bluray. Worked flawlessy.
If you're not already on .235 you can try to flash, if you are you could try and reset the phone.
Or just try MX Player.
I used vlc and it worked ok...
The mx and the original player still lag tho...
I don't have any idea for it , can you help me ?
