[Q] Galaxy s2 no service after factory reset - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
I bought the GS2 two weeks ago, did nothing but rooting it, stayed with the original gingerbread OS.
A few days ago i noticed i had no reception, i tried turning airplane mode on, and then off (to restart the connection), but the phone got stuck in airplane mode.
I restarted the phone a couple of times, but it didn't work - still was stuck in airplane mode. I eventually decided to factory reset it.
After doing this the phone was not in airplane mode anymore, but it had no service (a circle with a cross line is appearing in the top right corner).
The really strange thing is that i have no imei number, no wifi or BT mac (when entering the 'about' section in the settings menu).
It looks like the phone still thinks it stuck in flight mode.
I tried looking in the efs dir, and noticed that the files nv_data.bin, nv_core.bin, their md5's and the nv_state files, all were renamed (now starting with a dot, hidden files).
I tried removing the dots from the beginning of the file names, I tried reinstalling the original ROM... nothing helps. I have no backup of the efs dir, before the problem appeared.
I don't know how really flight mode works, but it looks like the process handling it got stuck while entering flight mode, leaving the files in this strange state. Maybe there is a 'flight mode flag' in one of the files, telling the phone it is not allowed to access the files regarding the imei, wifi and BT identifiers.
It is worth mentioning that when i start using the wifi, the wifi mac updates and appears - the same would have happened if the phone was in airplane mode.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
sami

Sorry I don't know but I have *exactly* the same problem and symptoms starting on 7th Aug after 3 months of use. I didn't even root. You're not alone. I think it needs to go back to the shop.

I have the exact same problem. Did anyone find a solution to this?

Never heard about this problem before, but I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Try to power off the phone, remove the SIM card and battery, wait for a minute, insert them and power on the phone.
2. Try to wipe cache and dalvik cache.
3. Try to install a different ROM with full wipe.

Mobile Network Unavaible
Good evening friends!
I am facing a strange problem with my Galaxy S II. Last night I was using the Rom Criskello, and everything was working fine. So I decided to make a backup and install other roms just to test. I installed the rom and my device Miui NDT was unsigned, I ended up doing strange and full wipe to install the ROM GalnetMiui. But I opted to return to the Criskello Rom. This morning I realized that my phone does not make calls and even shows that the data is active, but strangely, the signal is full.
Reinstall the original rom Retail Brazil and yet when I try to make calls I get Mobile Network Unavailable ...
My simcard is old, I'll buy a new one for testing. Someone tell me if this is normal?

galaxy s2 no service
Hi all,
I had a similar problem, while using Skype I suddenly got the dreaded no service indicator.. Took phone to Samsung and they said to check if it was maybe barred from the network which it wasn't.. I was about to take it back to the shop I bought it from, then decided to remove my google account but the phone forced me to do a factory data reset, under settings -> Privacy.
I did this and then...... Happy days all was fine again )
I think it was the skype application that caused the problem but will confirm this...
Life is good again!
Hope this helps...

i having the same problem, after reboot I'm having respiration but only emergency call
it's started as i flash Lp1 modem, in the Base.b it's said Unknown, but after it i flashed KP4 and everything act normal
so i really don't know!!!
i thoght this is something in my modem F.w LP1 so i went back to factory KI4
didn't help.
changed my rom from CM9 to Checkrom v4 didn't help.
factory rest didn't do much.
i found by mistake that if i am using the sim card on different phone make a sort
phone call and putting back the sim card to SG2. only this my letting my take phone call.
I'm hopping may be some one will read my temporary solution, and will help as to find the right solution .
...
restoring the oldest CMW and EFS restore manually didn't do much
i will keep looking, please if someone got a clue ...
Thank you for all

i will keep on going till i will find a solution.
i believe that the main issue is that if i didn't delete /efs all the restoring didn't really restore this folder.
this is very risky, do a good backup with EFS-PRO
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
it's all started because ididn't do a good backup!!!

pinkman, have any progress?

My solution
got the same ishue on my phone you just need to do a efs restore.
there is an app on the marketplace for that
XXXmarket.android.XXXcom/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktoolXXX
(remove the XXX)
hope it helps it took me 3 days to find it and get he phone signal back
when you get the app:
press the: backup EFS to /sdcard/efs.img
then click yes verify
next run the check
press the close button
then click on the restore efs from backup(red button)
press the restore img button
press red button again
press the restore tar button
then click on the purple reboot button
and your good to go
you might night to restart after the reboot for the phone's signal to register with the carrier
your phone should be rooted btw
anyway hope this helps everyone, i know it saved me a $400 factory repair bill
good luck

stock rom
just flash back stock rom

A massive thank you

TP2 with EnergyROM problems!

I cannot activate my TP2 with EnergyROM. The data won't provision at all.
I cannot run the stock RUU either.
I took the phone to my good friend, and he hasnt been able to do anything with it either...
What am I doing wrong?
Everytime I try to put the stock rom back, I get a different error message.
Has anyone had this issue?
Does phone and sms work? What error do you get for the Data??
I have had problems provisioning data before and there were a couple solutions:
Data Call Failure Error 11 PPP Connection Error - Install stock ROM, call programming (#228 on verizon). If that doesn't work, call verizion and let them know you have no data. If all else fails ask for a DMU reset (although they are reluctant to do this).
What error message do you get when you try to install a stock ROM?
sorry, I have Sprint (shouldve mentioned that)
I get error #777 from data
and I got errors 206, 320, and another 200level one my boyfriend got when he tried. The latest time I tried with the stock rom it simply said "cannot upgrade your phone."
but yes, phone and sms work.

Try cycling the battery and re-provisioning your phone first. If that doesn't work change your connection settings. I am not sure on sprint 3g login, but go here:
Start > settings > Connections > Connections
Then click Manage existing for the sprint data connection, click edit. Make sure the "Modem" is "Cellular line" and it is dialing "#777". The last screen should have your sprint 3g data info, if you cannot find it online, call sprint and they can give you that information.
About the ROMs, i'm not sure why it isn't working. Unless you are transposing those numbers wrong there is no info in the wiki at this time:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_RUU_Error_Codes
I've tried that, my tech friend tried it. Nothing has worked.

Did you call sprint yet? That might be the next plan of action, anytime none of those worked I called VZW and got it fixed.
If none of the above works you might have to flash you TP2 via the SD card. Extract the .nbh file and place it on the root of your SD card (do not put it in any folders). Take out your battery, put it back in, hold the volume down and power key. It should automatically load the ROM file and ask if you want to flash the ROM. Hit the power button and flash away.
I called sprint and none of the 3 different tech support agents could figure it out either.
I'll try the SD card thing, because that is looking like my last hope =\

I had that once with VZW, flashing back to a stock ROM and provisioning is what solved it...hopefully that works for you. Do you need tips on flashing from the SD card or extracting the nbh?
have you tried task29 first, and then reflashing?

I agree. It sounds like some left over files are causing a serious conflict. Task 29 will format the phone and give you a clean slate to put the phone into bootloader mode and install a new rom. I have attached a version of Task 29 that I found on PPCGeeks that formats the entire phone and just puts the original "Touch Pro 2" splash screen. Plug in your phone and make sure you have a full sync connection with your phone. After that extract the zip file I attached to your desktop. Then run the Task29.exe file. Go through the whole process as if you were flashing a rom. After that the phone will only go to the splash screen and not boot. Do not panic, this is normal. You now have to put the phone in bootloader mode by holding the volume down button and hitting the soft reset button. Continue to hold down the volume down button when you release the soft reset and dont let it go until you see the bootloader screen. Make sure the phone is still plugged in and the words "USB" pop up on the bottom before you continue. When it does, flash the rom of your choice whether stock or custom and try to see if your problem continues. Sorry for the long instructions but I like being thorough just in case. I always use this before I flash a new rom just to avoid problems. I don't know who the author of this software is but they deserve a lot of credit. Hope this works out for you.
yea, i agree, PRBajista. i use it as well, everytime i flash a new rom (which i plan on doing in a minute or so) before i flash29, i put my new rom's nbh on my sd card, start up active sync, start up boot loader, it'll tell me to presst the power button to flash a new rom, which i don't i hit volume down, so it goes into usb mode, falshes with task 29, after it finishes, i reset holding volume down, and flash my rom from sd cause i prefer it over active sync. i hope everything works out for you
Do you have Hard SPL?
I tried task29 and got the Error [260] as i have the past 3 times i tried just doing the ROM by itself.
I've tried loading the .nbh file onto the SD and doing the whole volume down/power button thing and it just stayed on the bootscreen for 10 minutes not moving.
I am at my wits end and dont know what to do, and now the phone feature (calling/sms) has stopped working as well.

[Q] Accidental Update, Now Frozen - Please Help

This morning in my half-awake state I accidentally pressed "OK" to my phone asking me to go ahead with the (I'm guessing) 2.3.6 update. I KNEW I would end up doing something stupid like that. GRR!!
Anyway, the phone then launched itself into a white screen with blue text saying that it is doing the update, but nothing happens and it appears to be frozen.
I am rooted and was trying to avoid this update; like I said, I was half-awake.
I can't even get it to boot into download/recovery mode, it always goes straight to the white screen. Hopefully this isn't a double post; I checked here and google first but couldn't find anything for this phone. I'm really at a loss here. I have Titanium Backup and I got an external SD card, but I'm not sure if I actually backed up the apps to the external card (new to TB). I did a Kies contacts backup a few days ago so that at least is safe.
Is there any hope for my phone? If I can just get it back to a working state, I can live with my apps' data being erased. Any help appreciated.
Thank you!
Doh... sorry to hear that.. are you also running a custom rom, or customized ATT rom (I have the stock rom from the developers forums over the standard root after having tried a few custom roms).
I got the update message as well this morning, but I postponed it for 8 hours, however I am unable to get rid of the stupid notification, and am curious if after the 8 hours, it will force the update or let me postpone it agian (that will get annoying fast if I cannot disable the OTA update..)
I'd like to know how to cancel the update as well. I have it sitting in my notification bar. >_<

I'm still running stock 2.3.5. All I've had time to do is root and TB apps, haven't had the chance to play around with ROMs yet for this phone.
Yeah I postponed it for 8 hours, too. The 8hrs must have expired right as my alarm went off because the "Install this update?" message popped up and I hit it, thinking it was the snooze button -_-
Let me know if there's any way to get off of this screen my phone is stuck on! And then disable the obnoxious message for good.
Thanks again =)

I have about 10-15 times since it first happened this morning. I also tried taking out the SIM and microSD cards. It's the only way I can get it to stay off to try to boot to recovery mode (which it still won't boot into); if I hold the power button to turn it off it just resets back into the white Software Update Screen (won't stay off).
Has anyone successfully applied this update yet?
Any other ideas? I appreciate the feedback so far!
Similar thing happened to me. I pulled the battery and booted in to CWM just fine. Restored from there.

I don't believe I have CWM installed? How would I have known if I did? When I volume up + volume down + power and wait until the Samsung logo comes up it boots back to the white screen. Maybe I'm doing that process wrong?
Same thing happened to me this morning!
almost identical story
I've tried literally every combination to get to the reboot screen. ugh :'(

I haven't been rooting as much as some of the guys here, but I think if you take the battery out and it won't boot back even into recovery, you're hard-bricked and you're gonna have to start from scratch with a fresh stock rom. Go to download mode (turn off, hold vol up + down, insert powered usb cable) and put a stock rom back on using odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348
You will basically get back to what your phone was when you took it out of the box and you'll have to install everything, your data (other than the data that is on a microSD card) won't be there.
If you have a backup that you did with CWM, then you can restore the backup after you do all this.
I think you got unlucky with the worst case scenario of what shouldn't happen during an update.
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try when I get home from work and will let you guys know how it goes.
For the future, is it generally recommended to de-root before doing any straight carrier update? Or is this just a total fluke that some of us are experiencing?
Will adb recognize your phone? If it does just adb reboot recovery

AMAZING!! Thank you so much! Not only is my phone up and working but the update has installed!
I learned the following:
-you pretty much need a pc (not a mac) to do all the downloads correctly. I used a friends.
-to get your phone into download mode when it's frozen from the update, you have to hold down either vol + AND vol - (or just vol -) as well as the power button, simultaneously hold down power and also simultaneously plug in the usb. Then let go of the power button and remain holding down one or the two volume buttons.
THIS WAS JUST WITH MY SKYROCKET EXPERIENCE
I'm so happy. Thank you LucidMike
This just happened to my friend's phone. White screen no matter what. Stock everything, too. She's pretty bummed that there's no way to recover the videos and pictures on her phone before resetting it. Apparently she went to AT&T and they couldn't figure it out. They called tech support for her and THEY couldn't figure it out. She's currently on the phone with Samsung, but I doubt they'll be able to help either.

AHHH!! Tell her to hang up the phone right now!! Use this method to fix her phone!! All of her data will still be there after it's done! After the process is complete, back it up to a computer (enable USB storage and just copy + paste and I used Kies to copy my contacts) and THEN do a full factory reset (reset recommended by everyone to ensure smooth function of phone). The method in the link will return her to the original stock version; I believe it may trip a counter that AT&T can use to determine if you've hacked your phone, but if you want a working phone...and there's also a chance that it WON'T trip the counter (some people say it did and some say it hasn't).
EDIT: Pictures and videos that I took with the phone are saved in /sdcard/DCIM/Camera, so you know where to copy her stuff from.

I'm trying to fix my boyfriend's phone (he actually didn't hack/root it or anything...but yesterday's update messed up his phone so it was stuck in the "SOFTWARE UPDATE" and "Loading..." frozen white screen). We tried taking out the battery, restarting it, everything. I tried your method of holding all three buttons while plugging in the USB and then letting go of the power button. What do you press when it asks you if you want to continue (up vol +) or cancel (vol -)? I chose vol -, and when it took me back to the white screen, I did it again and pressed vol +. Now I'm on a ODIN MODE page...will this affect his warranty or anything? What do I do next?
You need to have odin on your pc and the stock .tar and flash it. Here go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1509978

Thanks! I read on the first page of the thread that it needs to be rooted though? This phone is brand new and never been rooted or hacked...will doing this void the warranty or anything unpleasant? (I'm the one that likes hacking my devices like my Nook Color...my boyfriend is a little more paranoid and would rather have it stay covered under warranty )
No actually. Thats incorrect..the stock tar. Is just as it sounds. The stock firmware the phone comes with.....dont need to be rooted to use odin. Actually if u odn the stock tar. It removes root.

I really need help restoring my framework-res.apk?

Hi,
In an attempt to remove the emergency dial button from the lock screen, I got into boot loop. I had edited some xml file in the framework-res.apk, put it on the phone, but then every time I booted it up, I couldn't do anything, it would reboot and reboot... I have a backup of the original framework-res.apk, so I did factory reset in recovery mode, managed to get my phone working long enough to put the original framework-res.apk in the correct folder, but as soon as I tried to set the right permissions, it rebooted and now, logically, it reboots but it doesn't even get to the PIN lock screen...
I have had this phone 3 days now and I have no money for a new one, is there any way I can restore the original file with the correct permissions without being able to boot into the phone, the only thing I have is recovery mode with the options "apply update from sdcard", "wipe data / factory reset", "wipe cache partition" and "test redbend"
Please, I am really desperate here. Searching the internet for hours for a solution, but in most cases I just lack the knowledge to do it. Also, if it's possible, I'd like to maintain my warranty.
Please help me, I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance,

Yeah, I've done that now, but I can't find a stock rom of my region and I'm stuck with a qwerty layout, so now I think I'm going to restore a backup of my friend's phone (he has exactly the same phone). Hope I get everything back to normal then.

Is there anything I should look out for before I restore my friend's backup to my phone? I'm kind of paranoid I'm going to screw it all up again...
Edit:
What I was planning on doing:
Root my friend's phone
Install ROM manager
Install Clockworkmod recovery
Create backup on SD card
Put SD card in my phone
Go into CWM recovery
Restore
Choose his backup
Restore
Boot up the phone, make sure everything is alright
Go into recovery mode
Factory reset / user data delete
Does this seem right or should I check some things first?
I thought I read that you have to have the same kernel version or something?
Since I'm running a stock ROM atm, I'm not sure if this is something I should be worried about.
Edit 2: I have already found out that we have different kernels, he has 2.6.35.7-perf-cl561624 and I have 2.6.35.7-perf-CL465576
ok first make a backup of your rom (i no your rom is messed up but do it anyways) flash your freinds backup, make sure you wipe data/system first. The reason I say backup yourrom first becasue you say your freind has a diffrent kernel, so if it dosent work you have a backup so you can restore where you started, understand?
Will do,
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me, I will post the results tomorrow.
ok let me how it came along
It worked
I created a backup on his phone, put the sd card in my phone, restored the backup, booted up the phone, everything worked great, rebooted in recovery mode and wiped user data en resetted factory settings, phone is up and running now with the original firmware. So glad it worked
Thanks again!

[Q] HELP!Triumph vibrating constantly after trying to install Clockwork mod

From what i've been hearing- I should ditch my triumph and maybe get a samsung gallaxy2 prepaid. Until i have $ for that i thought I'd try the cygen mod.
My phone was already rooted. I tried to put on clockwork as instructed on various forums.when igot to the part about swpping the recovery image when i tried to boot into cw ( pressing power vlume up and down) all it does is vibrate with a black screen. I have to take battery out to stop it.
Then i realized I already had clockwork on the phone i forgot i had downloaded ROM manager( with the derbyhat clockwork orange eye logo) long ago.
When i plug the phone back up to computer i still get the mobile drive so is it still in download mode?
I tried : making sure my battery is charged
re-downloading various recovery images and swapping
taking the .img off the file before unplugging
making sure there no space before the word recovery
When i try and ress power and volume down the phone does nothing
when i press just power it just vibrates continuous black screen
when i press all buttons at once it just vibrates continuous
how do I get my phone back the way it was before i tried this or make this clockwork work? I've been searching on the net all day and can't really find a clear straight answer. I found some leads but the links were old and broken. I feel like a cat chasing my tail!
Also someone recommended reformatting the mobile drive so i did that and now there is nothing in that file except the new recovery img i tried to put there. No boot img or eetc. didi I make things worse??
I really need help now cuz I have no phone that works- I am constantly worried my kid might need to call me from camp and can't reach me!!
If you have a fix could you please explain it simply so a newbie or child could understand? i am not a developer or anything. Just a girl try ing to get her phone back working.
Thanx in advance !:crying:
Problem Solved
I ended up reformatting my mobile drive since i had also accidentally wiped out all the files. Then i found a link for all the files that were missing on another forum and i reinstalled everything. then i tried to boot my phone. it still did not work so i plugged the phone into a wall charger and then tried to power on and it worked.( the battery was dead). my phone was back to normal intact! :victory:
Same problem
My phone has the same problem as yours .I have been trying fo a week on multiple forums to find an answer with no success. I see someone replied to you about reformatting ,but as far as I know that would require the phone to function well enough to get into a mode of some kind . Please if you don't mind would you drop me an email ([email protected]) if you come up with a solution . It is making me crazy, LOL ..If I find a fix for this I will contact you here or you can send me contact info and I will email you : Thanks ,my name is Paul

Well help hath arrived if you don't have it fixed already. I know XDA doesn't like it when we link to another site, but the Triumph guys normally hang out here: http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/ It's just more convenient for us. Honestly we were thinking about XDA due to XDA's excellent uptime (XDA is great, by the way) but AndroidForums stopped crashing years back so we stayed. Nothing against this site (I use both about equally) but we can continue the discussion here. Also, your fix lies here and don't read most of the first posts. The actual fix was from g60, and he kept a back up of Austrie's old files on his new server. The original link went dead, but you can find what you want here.

Suddenly my phone bricked. Need help

Phone was working ok yesterday all day, then I has to take a flight to another city and timezone. When I arrived everything still was ok for about 1 hour, then I wanted to login in the hotel wifi and it wasnt showing the networks. Tried turning on mobile data ando it wasnt turning on either. Rebooted the phone, didn't work. Then I tried to go to the settings and I got an error message "Settings isnt working" and shuts the window. Another message that suddenly appears is HTC Mobile data Lite isnt working.
Tried with info settings > settings > clear data and cache. Didnt work.
Rebooted by holding power and volumen buttons, didnt work.
Went to boot options it says is locked and that ”File" wasnt found.
They boot to recovery gets stuck on the red warning with a triangle image.
Lastly the phone got stuck on reboots, after I do they security pattern it shows they splash screens and logos, reboots and asks for the pattern again.
Never flashed or did something with system files or kernels on this phone.
Wanted to try factroy reset but when I was able to go to the home screen and connect the phone to a Mac using the app AndroidFile Manager..? It said 8gb available to select, which seemed wrong as my phone was almost 60gb full, so wasnt sure it was going to be a good backup.
Any help on what can I do to backup ando solve the issue?
Thanks!
Clear system cache if that's an option.
Factory reset.
If that doesn't get it it will need a reflash. The flight may have caused a Single Event Upset, which is more likely to happen at high altitudes.
The hotel wifi is also suspect, root kit.
Lastly it could be a mobo failure or other hardware issues.
Is possible to clear cache if I can't access home screen? Any chance of backup before factores reset?
I don't think was wifi, didnt have a chance to connect to it or something
I think your stock rom has encrypted your phone's memory . If you want to S-OFF you can try a TWRP recovery otherwise you can install a RUU rom at home. All your data will be destroyed.
Figured out how to wipe partition cache...didn't help. Still stuck on boot loops.
All your data will be destroyed.

So there is no method to pull my data out of the device before trying to flash something into it?
Try starting it in safe mode. May take a few tries.
If you get it into safe mode, grab the data.
That's probably your last hope.
This is one big reason I always use a phone that supports an SD card. I use the SD card as the data drive; all critical data goes here. I then redundantly and regularly backup the SD card.
The data drive provides a buffer if the OS crashes/burns and most times is unaffected.
Everything I need to do a full reload/restore is on my data drive. It's time staggered backed up on multiple flashsticks and hdds.
I've lost whole databases before; lessons from the U of hard knocks tend to stick... and suck.

Already tried safe mode before your reply. Didn't work either.
Oh well, gonna go for the factory reset then.
Thanks for your help.

Try a few more times... play with it.
Been trying, keeps rebooting after entering the security pattern.
I can go to emergency call, it shows com.android.phone is not working but if I click wait after a while it shows the phone UI, I can take screenshots and move the volume bars... one time I don't know how or why, I left the phone while I read something else, on the pattern screen and I had the "Do you want to transfer files" message ... so this gives me hope that I will be able to either go to the system 1 time, or that the ADB is detected so I can pull data.
Tried fastboot boot twrp.img from power shell, but got the warning device won't boot. I guess because I didn't unlocked it and wipe the data first.
Found stock ROM that matches my CID/MID/Carrier, etc. Can I use this to flash something into my phone and fix the booting problem without wiping data?

The problem is likely in the user data partition itself. Start flipping firmware around all bets are off. Be a lot safer if you could get it into safe mode to retrieve the data.

Gonna keep trying to enter system then, maybe I get lucky.
The zip I downloaded had other zips inside and I can't open or extract them, windows says they are not valid. So I downloaded a different ROM from a different site, and had the same issue. Is this normal? Don't want to be flashing corrupt zip files obviously

The only boot loop I had where I needed data eventually booted into safe mode by itself after a couple tries at normal booting, convenient.
The next time it happened, a few days latter I was ready, lesson learned, always backup data.
As for the files, you're in deeper then I ever had to go. A factory reset be easier and safer if the rom isn't the source of corruption. You got yourself between a rock and a hard place. Personally I would have written the data off by now and factory reset. Of course that's because almost all the data was backed up.
Use the exact same rom.
Someone here can spot what's wrong though with your methods... have patience.
Seems I'm screwd. Did a factory reset, now I'm stuck on the Internet configuration screen after selecting language. Networks don't appear and I got the same "HTC Mobile Data Lite" error screen saying isn't working.
The top bar has a lock and only NFC is turned on. Can't pass that screen.

Didn't have one, then I inserted it again, no change. This was the original problem when I got in to the hotel, couldn't turn on wifi or mobile data.
Not sure what else to try. Wanted to try with a custom ROM or something, but can't unlock bootloader, because I can't get the identifier token since I can't get to the debug settings to turn on OEM unlock.
Fastboot oem unlock command is giving me an error.
The status of my software (on the bootloader) says modified, not sure if is it because I tried to boot a twrp.img (but afaik I understood should have been wiped after a reboot)
Extracted the zips with the RUU tool and got some img files, maybe I should try to flash some of those files.
Before you try anything else get the right procedure from an expert here. Otherwise you may trash the one or two shots you might have have.
I'm not that expert but there are members here that are. Sorry to see you having so much trouble...
I had the same problem,
This is processor fault .
the solution that i found to solve this problem is turn off the phone and heat the back cover under the camera using heatgun or hairdyer for about 30sec, don't make it too hot, then power up the phone and long press hardly the back cover under camera using your tumbs while HTC logo comes up. This makes my phone succesed booting up and the signal show up again. Once the phone turn up, just backup everything.
If the signal not showing up and wifi not working , you can use bluetooth tethering or using "gnirehtet" for reverse usb tethtring from computer.
*important : when the phone turn on, go to setting to delete the lock pattern/pin to make your phone not locked.
