TP2 with EnergyROM problems! - Touch Pro2 CDMA

I cannot activate my TP2 with EnergyROM. The data won't provision at all.
I cannot run the stock RUU either.
I took the phone to my good friend, and he hasnt been able to do anything with it either...
What am I doing wrong?
Everytime I try to put the stock rom back, I get a different error message.
Has anyone had this issue?

Does phone and sms work? What error do you get for the Data??
I have had problems provisioning data before and there were a couple solutions:
Data Call Failure Error 11 PPP Connection Error - Install stock ROM, call programming (#228 on verizon). If that doesn't work, call verizion and let them know you have no data. If all else fails ask for a DMU reset (although they are reluctant to do this).
What error message do you get when you try to install a stock ROM?

sorry, I have Sprint (shouldve mentioned that)
I get error #777 from data
and I got errors 206, 320, and another 200level one my boyfriend got when he tried. The latest time I tried with the stock rom it simply said "cannot upgrade your phone."
but yes, phone and sms work.

Try cycling the battery and re-provisioning your phone first. If that doesn't work change your connection settings. I am not sure on sprint 3g login, but go here:
Start > settings > Connections > Connections
Then click Manage existing for the sprint data connection, click edit. Make sure the "Modem" is "Cellular line" and it is dialing "#777". The last screen should have your sprint 3g data info, if you cannot find it online, call sprint and they can give you that information.
About the ROMs, i'm not sure why it isn't working. Unless you are transposing those numbers wrong there is no info in the wiki at this time:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_RUU_Error_Codes

I've tried that, my tech friend tried it. Nothing has worked.

Did you call sprint yet? That might be the next plan of action, anytime none of those worked I called VZW and got it fixed.
If none of the above works you might have to flash you TP2 via the SD card. Extract the .nbh file and place it on the root of your SD card (do not put it in any folders). Take out your battery, put it back in, hold the volume down and power key. It should automatically load the ROM file and ask if you want to flash the ROM. Hit the power button and flash away.

I called sprint and none of the 3 different tech support agents could figure it out either.
I'll try the SD card thing, because that is looking like my last hope =\

I had that once with VZW, flashing back to a stock ROM and provisioning is what solved it...hopefully that works for you. Do you need tips on flashing from the SD card or extracting the nbh?

have you tried task29 first, and then reflashing?

I agree. It sounds like some left over files are causing a serious conflict. Task 29 will format the phone and give you a clean slate to put the phone into bootloader mode and install a new rom. I have attached a version of Task 29 that I found on PPCGeeks that formats the entire phone and just puts the original "Touch Pro 2" splash screen. Plug in your phone and make sure you have a full sync connection with your phone. After that extract the zip file I attached to your desktop. Then run the Task29.exe file. Go through the whole process as if you were flashing a rom. After that the phone will only go to the splash screen and not boot. Do not panic, this is normal. You now have to put the phone in bootloader mode by holding the volume down button and hitting the soft reset button. Continue to hold down the volume down button when you release the soft reset and dont let it go until you see the bootloader screen. Make sure the phone is still plugged in and the words "USB" pop up on the bottom before you continue. When it does, flash the rom of your choice whether stock or custom and try to see if your problem continues. Sorry for the long instructions but I like being thorough just in case. I always use this before I flash a new rom just to avoid problems. I don't know who the author of this software is but they deserve a lot of credit. Hope this works out for you.

yea, i agree, PRBajista. i use it as well, everytime i flash a new rom (which i plan on doing in a minute or so) before i flash29, i put my new rom's nbh on my sd card, start up active sync, start up boot loader, it'll tell me to presst the power button to flash a new rom, which i don't i hit volume down, so it goes into usb mode, falshes with task 29, after it finishes, i reset holding volume down, and flash my rom from sd cause i prefer it over active sync. i hope everything works out for you

Do you have Hard SPL?

I tried task29 and got the Error [260] as i have the past 3 times i tried just doing the ROM by itself.
I've tried loading the .nbh file onto the SD and doing the whole volume down/power button thing and it just stayed on the bootscreen for 10 minutes not moving.
I am at my wits end and dont know what to do, and now the phone feature (calling/sms) has stopped working as well.

Can not Sync/Stuck In Bad Flash (Help Please)

Before I get flamed for not posting this in the ROM's thread, I did already and "gadgetdad" was very helpful in the ROMs thread. Unfortunately the thread isn't that active right now and I am kinda stuck.
So here is goes, if I could get some help, any would be 100% appreciated
I recently flashed to L26 V3 (I am giving you 100% of all the info I know to hopefully give you all enough info). Right after this, I switched over to the new Alex v6.01 ROM (I have an AT&T Tilt, live in the states). More specifically the Cube version I downloaded from his 4share account with the radio 1.65.14.06. It apparently was a bad download or something because it DID 100% complete flashing, however it took forever (20 minutes to customize) and after that when I choose AT&T auto settings it gives me a "Error Database" popup.
So I figured, guess it messed up, will try again (I was going to try the lite one this time though). Unfortunately now my phone wont sync either, active sync says "ActiveSync can not connect to the Windows Mobile powered Device. To troubleshoot click ok".
So,
1. thought was Restart PC. No go, same issue
2. Clear storage...(have Rom re-customize) all same issues, no go
3. "gadgetdad" had me try finding a point during the ROM install to "reset it" so it wouldn't finish customizing the ROM (tried soft reseting and hard reseting in about 15 spots...ROM kept re-installing...no go
4. Also tried MTTY (can not recognize the device as USB what so ever).
So here is my whoa is me, I am on call this week (great time to have a ROM flashing addiction) with this phone, am I screwed? Anything can be done? Any help 100% appreciated.
Thanks all and thanks for trying "gadgetdad",
Don

No worries man, Shows there is a ton more to learn when it comes to flashing. You saved me by showing that you dont have to use the micro card once in bootload. Learning experience all around, and now alex knows there is an error on his new build

Flashed with new ROM by mistake

Hi,
and this is not the right way to start a thread in a new forum
a few days ago i bought a used TytnII with english ROM and last night I decided to organize my phone with tools and programms and then a bad thing happened....
I accidentally flashed a ROM in my phone, the file was marked HTC_TYTNII_UPDATES. The file was installed without giving any warning about ROM or non-compatibility issues. After rebooting i get a message that i used illegal ROM and a DeviceLocked message. and the phone reboots.
Any hope to bring it back to normal?

Was it a cab file you installed?
Or did you run the file from your computer while your phone was connected through activesync?

1. I don't think you flashed a rom.
2. There is no illegal rom.
3. Maybe it is a good idea to do a clean rom install on your Kaiser, especially since it is a SH device.
Either install cmonex' hard2 spl (3.29 for Kaiser or 3.56 for Tilt) and any rom of your choice, or flash the official rom for your device which will probably work with any spl you may have.

why do you hate your kaiser!
anyways, there is no way a rom got installed without you knowing stergiosKLM...you would get many steps to click on if you were installing a rom.
format the device...install hard spl (whatever kind except 1.0) and flash your custom rom

Your best bet is to do a hard reset. Go to start, settings, system, clear storage.
Write 1234 and press yes. It will start you from scratch. That should help.
anyway you could upload the file you installed so we could take a look at it
I am on trip right now but as soon as i get back I will send the file.
Thank you all
Problem update
my kaiser has eng version and the file i executed from my pc and installed in kaiser memory (not card), is a localization program from the Greek distributor of HTC that installs two programs, the first in the localization program and the second is a lock program.
After a hard reset (soft keys and reset key), i get the screen alignment, time and date etc, then i tap the screen to start using the device. and then ii installing the customization program.
the file is "HTC_TyTN_II-0.4.2.6GR-9.0.0.25.Installer.zip" and is a RUU_ExtendedPKG program....
Try hard reset by poking the soft reset hole and hold two softkey simultaniously...
look here for proper instruction to reset (kaiser wiki)...

This is the best idea I read in the thread. Just think about if this poor person throught that he/she had flashed a rom. Why even send them though the confusion of (hard spl, and flashing a custom rom)when he/she has no idea on what they are doing anyway. Just hard reset your device and this will fix your issue plain and simple.
i already tried that. plus, i do not know how, the device booted, i uninstalled both programs, then did a reset and still it keeps autoruning the file.
Should i record a video so you get an idea of what is happening? How can i upload the file so someone can check it out?
BTW i am a he. 8)

You try to hard reset you phone?? I not talking about a soft reset. To perform a hard reset hold down to 2 line keys located between the send call and end call buttons and press and hold in the reset button with your stylist(this is located right next to the charge/usb port) til you see a white screen with blue writing and fellow the on screen instructions. I hope that this helps
i did that many times. all goes well up to the point where i get the message "setup is complete. tap the screen to begin using your device". I tap the screen and I get a windowed message "customization. It will automatically customize your device in 3 seconds" and the device shows a progress bar which says "Loading...." then "Loading AutoShortcut...." then "Installing...." after it finishes it reboots and it loads with the greek customization. as soon as it loads i get another windowed message which notes "DeviceLock. you have illegaly aquiered this ROM! This ROM is only for phones sold by ACE-Hellas and their distribution channel!" and after 3 seconds the device reboots and it keeps doing that.
The best solution is to go to HTC's website and download a new ROM/Radio directly from them. This will 100% fix your problem.
This should be what you need.... Pick one that matches your area/carrier
How to solve until you get home

Ok here's the deal. Do a hard reset and when it flashes to the customizing in 3 seconds button, do a soft reset by pushing in the reset button. That will stop customization from happening. Then you can use your phone, but will have to run connection manager to get your connection settings. This is the way to stop customization from running. It only runs one time after a hard reset.
When you get back off your trip, start with the thread mentioned above and work your way through the hardspl process and select a rom that you think has what you want then flash it.

thank you, i appreciate that. One last question for the proper rom, i have to match rom version and radio version only, right?

HardSPL must be matched too, but you probably won't have any problems regarding this if you install HardSPL 3.29.

That should work with most custom roms out there. If you have a freeze issue where the screen momentarily freezes, then you will need to flash a different hard spl. Most roms, tell you which hardspl and radio are compatible.

Help!!!!

My phone is looping (on and off) during the boot sequence. The boot screen (red green yellow) says code error then goes to the update screen. It starts to flash and then shuts off for a couple of minutes and does the same sequence again. I was running Nedidum v4 and activated the lock screen. Every since then I cant boot to this rom nor can I flash the stock sprint rom. Is my phone bricked? If i take it to sprint can they tell I was running a cooked rom? Note: I reported my touch pro lost through assurion to get this tp2. Can I do it again? Helpppppppppppppp!!!!!

Perhaps this is karma hitting you in the ass?
Go to the boot loader by shutting the phone off, holding down the vol down button then turning the phone back on.
Once in the boot loader try flashing to the stock rom.
To answer your question, yes, Sprint could tell. That said, they aren't likely to check.

He is saying that sprint could figure out you flashed your phone, but it is more likely that they won't even check, as most users probably won't flash their phone. At the very least you could go through insurance.

Yes, Sprint can tell if someone bothers to look. Chances are just low that someone will look.
Why are you flashing from a card? Ditch the card.
Flash the STOCK Sprint ROM over USB.

I have Verizon but I agree, there are too many variables when flashing via sd card. A faulty or cheap card, bad sectors on the card itself, your card reader copying the rom file incorrectly, a bad format on the card, the list goes on and on with what can go wrong flashing via sd card. I only flash via USB. Then again I use buildos so I never had a problem with roms. Thats why I like cookin my own rom. No headaches.
Relax heres what you do.
bro heres what you gotta do to fix your pfoblem, first format your sd card to fat32 then copy the nbh file onto the card, rename it to RHODIMG insert the sd card then enter the boot loader menu by first taking out the battery, and reinserting it. now with the phone off hold the volume down button while pressing the power button this forces the device into bootloader mode. your screen WILL read RHODIMG os. now press the power button again to install whatever rom you want but I would recommend using a stock rom or one that you know works, ie- from past experience.
trust me bro do this and all will be fine again,
HAPPY FLASHING
oh dont forget to press the soft reset button once the rom installation is done when the screen says installation successful,
once again HAPPY Flashing>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
the nbh file can be found next to the RUU application of whatever rom you choose when you open the rom with winrar this is the rom that will be flashed onto the phone.

Thanks all for your input...I've been flashing a year now, probably at least 500 times. Via sd card or activesync. I've tried everything..removing battery...formatting card...lada dada. cant connect via usb cause phone wont get past boot screen. I gave up and reported it missing o get a new one. It arrives today. I honestly think its the battery not holding a charge. Guess i find out for sure when the new tp2 arrives today. I'll post back here when i find out for sure.
Well got my new tp2 in this morning. I put the new battery in the old tp2 and it fired right up....to bad i had to waste my final insurance claim because of a battery.

[Q] Unable to factory reset

Yesterday my phone started acting up. All running process crashed and not many was able to start. I had to constantly click "force close". I think this started after I installed the Google+ app, but not sure.
I have tried uninstalling all unnecessary apps, without luck. I then tried wiping to factory settings by using the Android menu, but without any changing. I then tried by holding vol+ and power, going in to recovery and wiping both to factory and app cache. This doesn't change anything either. By googling I can see some suggests to hold vol- and power, to get to a another wiping-functionality but this just boots my Nexus S to normal state - no menu appears.
Has anybody an idea of what I can do?
Edit: more info; if I click "Report" and investigate the message sent to Google, I see that error has something to do with SQLite-relatet classes. Which makes some sense, alot of my changes are reset each time the phone is rebooted. For instance did I miss a call a couple of hours before the phone went crazy - this is shown at each boot in the notification area eventhough I clear the area and/or goes to missed call section
Factory reset via menu does delete all your "custom" apps, so I'd say it's not one of the existing apps causing problems.
The way you describe function after your factory reset sounds like factory reset didn't work properly.
If you feel safe I'd recommend rather flashing 2.3.4 again using either Odin or the OTA zip from Google (requires open bootloader).
I think you're right that factory reset doesn't do what is expected. Once I click it, the phone reboots and shows the Android guy next to an unwrapping package. This lasts only 2 seconds, then it reboots itself again and goes into normal phone mode (where all the app-crashing starts again).
I have not flashed or rooted my phone before, but I will consider this now since my NS is pretty much a brick. Thank you for your swiftly response.
Edit: Shouldn't I get a menu, when I push and hold vol- button, while turning on the device? Right now it just boot as normal.
Before you use odin....try going into rom manager a reflashing clockwork! Ive had that android dude on my screeen but reflashibg via rom manager always fixed it. Try that
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Wow my Nexus has totally shut me out.
I cannot use ClockworkMod unfortunately since I am not able to root my phone. It is not detectable via USA (when I use vol+/pwr and connect USB). I am unable to check the USB Debugging option on the phone. Each time I check it, go to home-screen and back to the menu, it has de-selected it again. Also I noticed when I read the info that is sent to Google for all those app-crashes I get, I see SQLiteException and error in an SQLite.java file. So it seems like some database layer is broken.
I read one could copy the ClockWork.img to my phone and use the standard recovery option to flash the img (I think). But when I go into the recovery menu, the file is gone. When I boot the phone again, it has deleted the .img file - eventhough if I copy it to several different folders, they are all gone :-(.
I feel pretty screwed at the moment. How can I else wipe all data?
I'd recommend to check if your device is correctly identified in windows. Missing USB drivers might cause problems. Get the latest drivers and a guide from here.
If you succeed booting into fastboot properly (vol up and power) you can follow this guide. Get the latest cwm recovery.img here.
Last option would be to boot into download mode (vol up + vol down + power + plugging in usb cable) and use Odin from samfirmware.com
--
All options require correctly working USB drivers.
I managed to unlock the bootloader, by quickly turning on USB-debugging (before any processes started to crash) and install the drivers from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6819751&postcount=4
A reboot later, I got this message:
"System UIDs Inconsistent
UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable."
Right below was a button saying "Im feeling lucky" (??)
I installed ClockworkMod using fastboot and tried "Fixing permissions" with no luck. I will try some ROM later on, and hope it will bring my phone back
Normally this error happens when you have a faulty app ruining your system, formating/deleting whole sdcard does usually fix this.

See I'm no expert on this whole thing. At this point I'd just flash a whole new system via Odin. Prolly not the smartest or safest option, but that's what I'd do because I don't know better. If that wouldn't fix it either, I'd return the phone on warranty
I was looking at Odin from the start, since nothing else seemed to be working.
So right now I got started on Odin. Followed the .pdf steps and flashed the bootloader at first succesfully. I was asked to remove the battery and re-connect my NS. Began downloading "pda" and "phone", but at around 10% a big fat red "fail" message appeared and now I just see the Google-logo on startup. I still cant flash any roms via fastboot.
Im too tired too right now, been working with this for 14 hours straight. I will look at it tomorrow evening. Thanks for your help rentaric
Weird, you're not the first one who had trouble running Odin using their guide.
Overall it's pretty simple.
Enter download mode. Vol up vol down and power at the same time while plugging in the USB cable. Start Odin, should show a yellow colored box with a port number. Uncheck everything but reset timer and auto reboot. Unzip the correct zip file from samfirmware.com (check if you got i9020 or i9023 and get the universal Odin exe), apply file from the folder accordingly. Bootloader and bootloader. Phone and modem. Pda and pda. Csc can remain empty (will change carrier info in fastboot).
Double check md5 hash to avoid broken files.

Weird, you're not the first one who had trouble running Odin using their guide.

Of course I did not go to bed, how should I be able to sleep with a broken phone .
The firmware suggested on samfirmware.com for my phone, was 2.3.3 and some other version (my phone was 2.3.4.2/GRJ22 or something similar, I suspect that might be the cause. Also I unchecked everything, that might also have been of importance). The flash will always fail when everything was downloaded - it then said something about "remote" and "Loke" and then fail. But as I mentioned, I had succesfully flashed boot.img (2.3.3) thus no boot occured now. I googled the correct bootloader, used fastboot and was booting succesfully again.
I began looking more into the sdcard, as error-messages was leading me this way. To compress 4 hours of investigations into a few lines, it seems as my PBA is malfunctioning as other xda-members have experinced. Only solution is sending the phone to Samsung for a PBA replacement. I purchased the phone in Bestbuy USA and the danish Samsung partners are not too joyfull about this - I will contact Samsung and hope they can help me.
I experinced the exact same thing as this poor guy - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993403
Every thing you try to do to /sdcard is worthless.
Formatting (USB/using CWM/using adb shell linux commands) says "Succes" but nothing happens.
Copying files says "Succes" but nothing happens. If I boot phone into CWM, mount usb and upload new rom/apk/whatever and try to do a "install update.zip" it fails with some mounting errors.
Im ready to go cry in a corner - I really want this to be fixable via software, but I probably have to realize that this is a hardware issue.
Apparently Samsung doesn't offer worldwide warranty for cellularphones :´(. God it sucks to pay repair-expenses on a 1 month old mobile.

Suddenly my phone bricked. Need help

Phone was working ok yesterday all day, then I has to take a flight to another city and timezone. When I arrived everything still was ok for about 1 hour, then I wanted to login in the hotel wifi and it wasnt showing the networks. Tried turning on mobile data ando it wasnt turning on either. Rebooted the phone, didn't work. Then I tried to go to the settings and I got an error message "Settings isnt working" and shuts the window. Another message that suddenly appears is HTC Mobile data Lite isnt working.
Tried with info settings > settings > clear data and cache. Didnt work.
Rebooted by holding power and volumen buttons, didnt work.
Went to boot options it says is locked and that ”File" wasnt found.
They boot to recovery gets stuck on the red warning with a triangle image.
Lastly the phone got stuck on reboots, after I do they security pattern it shows they splash screens and logos, reboots and asks for the pattern again.
Never flashed or did something with system files or kernels on this phone.
Wanted to try factroy reset but when I was able to go to the home screen and connect the phone to a Mac using the app AndroidFile Manager..? It said 8gb available to select, which seemed wrong as my phone was almost 60gb full, so wasnt sure it was going to be a good backup.
Any help on what can I do to backup ando solve the issue?
Thanks!
Clear system cache if that's an option.
Factory reset.
If that doesn't get it it will need a reflash. The flight may have caused a Single Event Upset, which is more likely to happen at high altitudes.
The hotel wifi is also suspect, root kit.
Lastly it could be a mobo failure or other hardware issues.
Is possible to clear cache if I can't access home screen? Any chance of backup before factores reset?
I don't think was wifi, didnt have a chance to connect to it or something
I think your stock rom has encrypted your phone's memory . If you want to S-OFF you can try a TWRP recovery otherwise you can install a RUU rom at home. All your data will be destroyed.
Figured out how to wipe partition cache...didn't help. Still stuck on boot loops.

So there is no method to pull my data out of the device before trying to flash something into it?
Try starting it in safe mode. May take a few tries.
If you get it into safe mode, grab the data.
That's probably your last hope.
This is one big reason I always use a phone that supports an SD card. I use the SD card as the data drive; all critical data goes here. I then redundantly and regularly backup the SD card.
The data drive provides a buffer if the OS crashes/burns and most times is unaffected.
Everything I need to do a full reload/restore is on my data drive. It's time staggered backed up on multiple flashsticks and hdds.
I've lost whole databases before; lessons from the U of hard knocks tend to stick... and suck.

Already tried safe mode before your reply. Didn't work either.
Oh well, gonna go for the factory reset then.
Thanks for your help.

Try a few more times... play with it.
Been trying, keeps rebooting after entering the security pattern.
I can go to emergency call, it shows com.android.phone is not working but if I click wait after a while it shows the phone UI, I can take screenshots and move the volume bars... one time I don't know how or why, I left the phone while I read something else, on the pattern screen and I had the "Do you want to transfer files" message ... so this gives me hope that I will be able to either go to the system 1 time, or that the ADB is detected so I can pull data.
Tried fastboot boot twrp.img from power shell, but got the warning device won't boot. I guess because I didn't unlocked it and wipe the data first.
Found stock ROM that matches my CID/MID/Carrier, etc. Can I use this to flash something into my phone and fix the booting problem without wiping data?

The problem is likely in the user data partition itself. Start flipping firmware around all bets are off. Be a lot safer if you could get it into safe mode to retrieve the data.

Gonna keep trying to enter system then, maybe I get lucky.
The zip I downloaded had other zips inside and I can't open or extract them, windows says they are not valid. So I downloaded a different ROM from a different site, and had the same issue. Is this normal? Don't want to be flashing corrupt zip files obviously

The only boot loop I had where I needed data eventually booted into safe mode by itself after a couple tries at normal booting, convenient.
The next time it happened, a few days latter I was ready, lesson learned, always backup data.
As for the files, you're in deeper then I ever had to go. A factory reset be easier and safer if the rom isn't the source of corruption. You got yourself between a rock and a hard place. Personally I would have written the data off by now and factory reset. Of course that's because almost all the data was backed up.
Use the exact same rom.
Someone here can spot what's wrong though with your methods... have patience.
Seems I'm screwd. Did a factory reset, now I'm stuck on the Internet configuration screen after selecting language. Networks don't appear and I got the same "HTC Mobile Data Lite" error screen saying isn't working.
The top bar has a lock and only NFC is turned on. Can't pass that screen.

Didn't have one, then I inserted it again, no change. This was the original problem when I got in to the hotel, couldn't turn on wifi or mobile data.
Not sure what else to try. Wanted to try with a custom ROM or something, but can't unlock bootloader, because I can't get the identifier token since I can't get to the debug settings to turn on OEM unlock.
Fastboot oem unlock command is giving me an error.
The status of my software (on the bootloader) says modified, not sure if is it because I tried to boot a twrp.img (but afaik I understood should have been wiped after a reboot)
Extracted the zips with the RUU tool and got some img files, maybe I should try to flash some of those files.
Before you try anything else get the right procedure from an expert here. Otherwise you may trash the one or two shots you might have have.
I'm not that expert but there are members here that are. Sorry to see you having so much trouble...
I had the same problem,
This is processor fault .
the solution that i found to solve this problem is turn off the phone and heat the back cover under the camera using heatgun or hairdyer for about 30sec, don't make it too hot, then power up the phone and long press hardly the back cover under camera using your tumbs while HTC logo comes up. This makes my phone succesed booting up and the signal show up again. Once the phone turn up, just backup everything.
If the signal not showing up and wifi not working , you can use bluetooth tethering or using "gnirehtet" for reverse usb tethtring from computer.
*important : when the phone turn on, go to setting to delete the lock pattern/pin to make your phone not locked.
