Seriously, who's in charge of the stock theming for our Charges? Who's decision was it to release a good phone on the market with a POOP BROWN COLOR SCHEME?! They should be fired!
And why does the battery life SUCK on this phone?! Why is it that we have to painstakingly calibrate the battery ourselves just to squeeze a days worth out of it? Samsung, I know you're trying to keep the costs down, but would it kill you to put a Li-Po battery in here or something?
Why does my 4G randomly drop to 3G, and then to 1X? Granted, somehow I've been seeing a lot less of this lately, but why did you let it happen in the first place?! Come on, that didn't happen to you ONCE during beta testing, Sammy?
Who's the joker who put so little ram into this phone? I bet when they designed it they were like "oh, this is going to screw so many people lol..."
And while I'm at it, I hate noobs. They don't even ATTEMPT to either look through the stickies or use the search.
Other than that, I am truly happy with this phone. I made the right decision when I upgraded.
I feel better after that rant; Feel free to vent some steam about your Charge in this thread; you therapist called, and he wants you to.

samsung needs to put a freakin' notification LED in their higher end phones (Galaxy line and Charge).. it's a simple and small thing to do but makes a huge difference, other than that its a great phone I think

1. Totally agree
2. meh, YMMV, maybe it is because I am coming from the fasicinate (I carried 2 extra batteries around to make it through 12 hours but I love the battery life on this puppy
3. I have rock solid 4G, very rarely does it go to 3G here in town. During testing I am sure they have their own tower they are sitting next to,
I love this phone but I too cannot stand the brown/orange theme. Is there any way to change it?
Regarding all android smartphones:
1. What happened to having dedicated Dial and End keys on our *phones*? I'd use that a lot more than a search key.
2. Why can't we get good voice control that just works! My old flip phone did this better.
3. How hard would it be to make data connections work on demand? Take it a step further than juice defender (which doesn't work on our phone anyway). Let us control what apps access the network and when. In the meantime, stop waisting precious battery life keeping data connected "just in case".
4. Build in working app + data backup already. The average user shouldn't have to worry about rooting just for this. Plus they wouldn't lose angry birds progress every time a verizon rep asks them to factory reset. ;-)

OK, I'll join the rant....The dogs**t brown theme and the battery life are both items I can deal with. I just squint and buy extra batteries but the fact that my data connection is so dodgy drives me crazy! I am constantly getting "network error" msgs or just suddenly from solid 4G to absolutely no data without moving, watching everyone around me breezing along on the web. The fact that I can find myself in the center of Los Angeles and have no 4G, no 3G, no 1x, no data period is so pitiful.
Okay, I feel a little better.....
bn
No issues with any of that. Gummycharged GBE FTW!
(Ok, I do miss a notification LED)
Where the ****s the notification LED, they couldn't even put it on the dam galaxy S2! Let's hope the U.S. versions get it right.
I'll admit, the colors on TW3 suck some ween(well, TW3 in general sucks some ween) but apparently the brighter colors consume more battery because of the SA+ screen.
Battery life is alright.... IF YOU CALIBRATE & UNDERCLOCK. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT! Still better then the 4 hour battery life on my enV Touch, and that wasn't even a smartphone.
FROYO? REALLY? FROYO? COME ON, IT'S A DAM $300 PHONE.
I DONT LIKE THE PUZZLE UNLOCK SCREEN. It doesn't show the battery % and I can't switch to silent from the same screen like AOSP, and why the hell does it need to say Verizon Wireless ON THE DAM LOCK SCREEN!? I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FLASH SO MUCH **** JUST TO MAKE THIS PHONE GOOD.
Come on 4g, what the hell. I'm in a full 5 bar area and it still feels the need to drop to 3g. It's always happening when I'm browsing the web too, not when the phone is sleeping where 4g data wouldn't be necessary but when I'm ACTUALLY USING THE PHONE. 4G IS ****ING WITH ME.
and finally..... WHERE THE **** IS TW4. If this phone releases GB + TW4 + source then this phone will be ABSOLUTELY ****IN' FANTASTIC. It's funny, even with all the flaws this phone is still awesome. It would have been perfect if they just added/fixed the above things from the start. You're right, it does feel good to vent.

Exactly my point, we "the devs" should not be working hard to make this a fast phone or better/smoother it should already be that way out of the box or with upgrades after paying premium for this phone. Remember it's not 199 like all other phones, it is 299 one hundred more than the rest of all other phones from any carriers out there. That is really upsetting. I had the droid inc 2 (199 with 50 mail in rebate, so really 150)for one week before I got the charge and it was a great little phone with the best battery life i have ever had plus it had been upgraded to gingerbread already (thinking about switching back to it). The Droid X, X2, droid 3, are all 199 and running the latest, but we paid 299 for lte and samoled screen but got stuck with froyo. That is really upsetting. I always read how samsung was really bad with updates but I thought this was one of their flagship phones so maybe it would get the upgrades but guess I was wrong, I'm sure it will come but way after everyone else.

No issues with my phone after rooting and flashing what I want. Today I was losing only 2% battery per hour! I made 2 phone calls and texted a bunch. They do need to get us to GB quick and I wish it was a dual core phone. I'll be getting the Nexus 3 as soon as that comes out and this will be on eBay.

The (large) majority of smartphone users use their phones more for messaging and web usage than for voice calls. You're in a shrinking minority and it's simply in companies' best interests to cater to the majority of their users.
Its hard for me to relate here. I bought this phone because it is currently the easiest 4G LTE phone to customize. I never planned on keeping stock TW, and will never put it back on my phone, unless I sell it.
I could care less what samsung is doing, because we have plenty of great developers, that are doing way better.
I recommend anyone that hates the stock samsung experience flash a custom rom. You'll be a lot happier with this phone.

We all have custom roms here. Yes, our devs are great, but our roms could be so much better if we had source and official support. Yes, this is the current flagship 4G LTE phone, but it lacks common features of lesser phones!

Well the Galaxy S line were samsung's flagship devices last year when they came out and it still took months and months even for official froyo (especially for the Fascinate) so just because the Charge is the latest and greatest from samsung (on verizon anyway) doesn't mean it'll get a ton of support out of the gate unfortunately... I know that 2.2 froyo was a huge improvement over 2.1 eclair so perhaps thats why it took so long, however 2.2 to gingerbread is not a major OS overhaul so hopefully that means we won't have to wait as long for 2.3 GB. I'd give it probably till the end of the year before we have GB and up to date source code.

So i should be getting my charge in on thursday. I am on my 4th fascinate and just cannot put up with this shut anymore. Missed called, mass storage failures, voicemail eff ups...ect.
So i just want to intruduce myself...hopefully rooting and flashing procedures go just about the same as the fassy...i have started to read up on it a little but will do more so tomorrow.
I am going to miss aosp cm7 and the glitch kernel(best kernel ever). Hopefully this phone wont give me as many hicups as my fascinate did.

Also i have not done enough reading up yet. If i am stuck with touchwiz for now will my charge atleast have voodoo?
Also how would you guys compare this phone to a fascinate? I have heard it is just a slightly beefed ul version of it. Anyone having missed calls or mass storage issues with it?

r2doesinc and xoomdev are gonna get started on OMFGB for the Charge. I PM'd him last wknd and he said that they had a couple loose end to tie up in respect to other devices. He wants to put his full attention into the charge and not have 20 different projects going. I dont think we are gonna have to wait as long as we did with the fassy for AOSP.
With that said, if you are coming from the fassy and were using either CM7 or OMFGB yhen I recommend going with Gummy Charge. Its really stripped down and gives the feel of AOSP.

He said he was actually starting to work on it last night so i am hopeful it will be here very soon. But in the meantime i am going to follow GOS as he always gives good advice on what to use.

Hey guys, add me to the list of people jumping over from the Fascinate.
I am interested in a de-bloated ROM that stays pretty true to the stock build. Since this phone is brand new to me, I'd like to stick with a "mostly" OOTB experience, save rooting and de-crapifying.
What ROM/Kernel would be best for this? Sounds like GummyCharge is the winner at the moment.
Fassy Refugee here too. So far with 1 day of use I'm really liking the charge. It gets 4 3g bars where the fassy was lucky to get 1, also it is much snappier than the stock fassy i had to run for a week. I'm just hoping that cm7 and MIUI make it to the charge soon.I miss MIUI.....
I just got my charge today. Coming from fassy, so I like the fact that its pretty much the same set up. I haven't been on stock in so long I have a few questions. how to get the keyboard to capitalize the letter i automatically?
How do i add words to the dictionary when they pop up under suggestions?
How do i find out what's causing my internal storage to be almost full?
Thanks!

So far,I'm loving my Charge. The screen is AMAAAAAAZING. D:
It puts my Fassy's screen to shame, lol. It's very crisp and vibrant. I don't have LTE in my area yet, but according to two different stores, we should be getting it sometime this week.
The charge is a beast, in my opinion. Then again, I came from an LG Versa, so even a Fassy or a G'z Commando...or OG Droid would be a beast.

I've never had a Fascinate but I help a lot of customers with theirs and I think the screen looks great. I don't know what you're talking about.
Also, welcome to Droid Charge City guys.
Everyone else can take their metal frames, quad scores and dual cores and shove em up their butt holes. I don't care if this phone is considered "last year's specs"; there is nothing boring about this stealthy ninja....I can't say the same for any other.
The physical shape of the phone is awesome too. It just looks COOL!!!
I wish I had some pull in this world so I could have Samsung build me an LTE GS2 in a Droid Charge body. Maybe Samsung will go the route of the Moto Droid and keep each of their "Droid" branded phones looking the same. That would be awesome. I would skip on the Function if I knew Samsung was building a Charge 2.
Also, TW all the way now. Embrace the colors capabilities of this screen. It has film-like quality. Samsung was the only phone manufacturer to get an "Outstanding" rating for their screens when it came to contrast...according to some standards organization.

Just got my charge in but I am having some problems activating it. Called customer service on my fassy but need another phone to call in. I am already sick of the puzzle piece unlock. I just want this phone activated so I can start rooting it already!
I know this is a silly question but did you get the sim card?
Hello.
I currently have an X2 that I am moving away from. I do not want to upgrade my contact at this time, so I will be turning to 3rd party vendors to purchse a different phone.
The HTC Thunderbolt has my attention, however I recall this phone being plagued with problems since launch.
Now that we are 6 months removed, how has this phone faired? Have all the bugs/kinks been worked out?
My wife has an Incredible 2 and I always say I wish I had went with HTC over my Droid x2.
Please share your thoughts on the current state of the Thunderbolt!
It is awful. If you buy it you will probably cry your self to sleep every night.
But if you really want one you can bet the market will be flooded with them as soon as the trinity of phones is released (the Galaxy Nexus, the HTC Rezound, the Moto Droid Razor)
I know I will be returning mine to Best Buy since I future proofed it when I bought it from there.
Just my opinion though.

its not TERRIBLE..
but there are certainly better phones out there.
primary problem is the battery life.but if you are always near a charger, this is a non-issue.
i, for one, can't wait to get rid of my tbolt when the nexus is released.
Plagued with problems? The only problem I've ever have is the battery life but its to be expected with 4G LTE. Its a very solid phone all around
Being my city isn't mapped for 4G LTE till 2013, does this make a difference in terms of battery life, or does the phone still use the same juice with a 3g signal?

Will make a significant difference in battery life running 3g, uses far less juice running 3g.
I'm actually on the newest unrooted ruu, and there are honestly no problems. Phone rubs fast as ever, always get signal, battery life is even better.

I would suggest waiting until the beginning of November. 3 new phones are scheduled for the 10th & aroind that time people with Thunderbolts, Bionics, etc will try to get rid of them to move up & you'll be able to price haggle with them good.
Good advice - I will wait till then!
The TBOLT is not a bad phone at all, but I would wait and check some of the new ones coming out.
But honestly I do not understand why so many people down the tbolt, mine has been a super solid and great phone and I have no need or desire for anything else right now.
With extended battery, I have no issues at all. Fast, reliable and solid.

not to mention the Tbolt is indestructible(so long as the screen doesn't get hit). i got pissed one night while i was driving and threw it out the window. i stopped and went back to get it and it had some scratches on it but was still working perfectly.
although if it's anything like the HD2, don't let even the slightest drop of water anywhere near it.
The phone itself is a hell of a lot better than a good deal of what HTC has put out before. The software has been the only real problem and that's been almost completely worked out. I'm not sure there's any outstanding issues with functionality and reliability. An extra power-sucking core that's identical to the one in the Tbolt doesn't turn me on enough to be tempted to upgrade. I don't know anyone who's disappointed with it.
Personally I love my bolt and I'm not super worried about the uh "trinity" lol. The bionic was supposed to be this amazing phone but I saw one and frankly I would rather have my old bolt.
My name is Revos I'm a recovering flashaholic running Liquid Gingerbread 3.0
Ignore the Naysayers... It's a great phone. Rooted.. Mine is smooth as butter. Battery is not an issue of you plan right. I put my stock battery back in (with extended to fall back on). Lte is stinkin awesome. The screen (when not in direct sun) is perfectly acceptable.
Unrooted? Well, I can't tell you.. It's been too long. I rooted because I was tired of waiting for GB and the bloatware.

If I had an upgrade coming up I'd seriously consider the tbolt. 4g phone for $100 & a extended battery, sign me up. Seems that all the bugs are finally worked out & with GB finally close, it's a good deal.
This coming from a guy that had 3 bolts in 5 months. For what it can do & the price, its almost too good to pass up.

It's an amazing phone for the price. I'm running a BAMF GB sense 3.0 ROM and I spend most of the day checking on the forums or messaging my girlfriend, although a lot is on WiFi. On BAMF Forever I pull 30 hours on extended battery. And that's not with anything disabled that I use. I won't handicap a feature just for battery life.
It's insanely durable hardware wise as someone mentioned. And the developer support for it is rest good. It's a very nice time to purchase the Thunderbolt as well as a lot of people are getting ready to sell to go to the new rezound, formerly called Vigor, because it was hyped early on as the Thunderbolt 2.

X2- just root it and customize to your liking. New to the Bolt, but only issue I have is battery life. But from all I hear, common issue with 4g devices. Got Verizon to throw in extended battery with purchase, just haven't installed yet, looking into "slim" extended battery.

Hi
I am a bit bored from my vibrant - especially when it comes to speed (despite running MIUI rom, which is quite snappy compared to stock).
How's the blaze? Worth the hassle? Speed demon? Or just ok?
Here's my take. Kinda drunka and all.
I came from the original Mt3g. 528mhz. Always cyanogenmod though.
Super fast phone. Fast network. The benchmarks that I run place the Blaze way at the top, though I don't know much about that stuff.
Once the ICS update happens if it does, or if an ICS rom happens I'll be thrilled. The phone has plenty of horsepower for me at least.
Being that i upgraded from a Motorola Defy that was even overclocked and still sucked....yea this phone is pretty damn nice. Super fast and no issues with mine. I'm waiting to root and do V6 and all that until ICS comes out so I don't have to go back to stock and all those other things for the real update to work, even with the bloat it does not slow this phone down.
i also came from a vibrant, cm9 and all.
its not that much quicker IMO
if i didnt get this phone for completely free, and had to use my upgrade for it, i would not have gotten it.
i wish the dev community for this phone was stronger but its all good.

there is only two ways that is gunna happen, either people step forward and start making things work, or you reach out to devs
The vibrant is out dated and can't come close to touching the blaze/mini s2

I am also coming from the Vibrant to this, due to my Vibrant not charging anymore. i had an upgrade and will be getting this in the mail by friday. Im also looking to root and flash a custom rom, since i have heard battery life is terrible. If anyone has any advice, please message me.
I kinda regret buying it. I didn't really research the community involvement on the phone, or even really the phone at all. I usually do, but in my situation my previous phone (nexus one) died suddenly, and unexpectedly. I pretty much had to get a phone that day, and I initially balked at the idea of getting a phone that was much larger than what I had.
But, I also wasn't really feeling like dishing out $400+ up front for a phone, so the Blaze was naturally a good option for me, especially since I do prefer GSM phones (cdma networks don't work too well in a lot of buildings I am commonly in) and I was getting fed up with AT&T's slow data speeds.
So it was pretty much between this or an S2, and at the time, the phone was just too large.
Now that I've had the phone for a week or so, running the same OS as my previous phone (one I had for 2 years) while it's true this phone is much faster, I find myself kinda wishing I would have been able to have more of a "wow omg" feeling after owning it.
In short, I'm starting a cash fund just to keep handy for whenever the new nexus line of phone is released. I really preferred stock android before, and I would definitely still prefer it now.
I'd like to see tmobile push out ICS for the phone pretty soon, but seriously, they loaded this thing with so many junk apps, sometimes 2 or 3 apps that do the same freaking thing that android already does, so I'm thinking it's going to be 2 years before they actually push ICS to this phone.
I have removed a lot of the apps with titanium backup pro, but it makes NO SENSE TO ME AT ALL why a carrier would put so much crap on the phone. For crying out loud if I use the stock launcher that doesn't have the ability to hide apps you don't want to see, it took a good 2 minutes just to freaking find what you wanted!
I like being able to flash roms and customize my phone and im worried there isnt going to be much developer interest in this. The S2 was also too large for my liking, and I chose this last minute after my vibrant stopped charging.
What I dont understand is, why are people who dont even have this phone making roms for it? So far theres only 2 and neither of them work. Go figure....

I'm guessing because it seems like the number of users with this phone is rather small. There's lots of reasons for it. It's a new model, didn't it come out in March?
It's also available only on Tmobile, and reviewers do nothing but dump the phone in the lower tier bracket because there's nothing "special" about it. They are always like, "meh, it's not tablet sized, so who cares!"
Even the model number is confusing as all get out, not even Tmobile themselves can consistently distinguish between it and the other Samsung phones.
Good phone just as fast as the Galaxy S2 T989 just a smaller screen size otherwize specs are almost exactly the same except for the camera is a little better in the Galaxy S2.
i just picked up the galaxy s blaze as well from my friend. i have a quick question though. Does anyone else have a slight issue with the power button being a bit loose when pressed in towards the button?
I kinda wish I had the Blaze along with my S II. If I did, i would be using the Blaze almost all the time because it does the same thing that the S II does, but in a smaller design. LOL. You guys should be proud because some of the S II owners use the Blaze's modem. I use it. It's so much faster and better. I give the Blaze some Love.
So odd and random but i noticed today on T Mobile that the Vibrant is now listed as a phone to buy in the phones/upgrade section again lol and since I got my Blaze and have no discount they still think they are gonna get someone to pay 379 for that outdated POS..must have found some stashed in their inventory haha
Honestly, the A2 has great performance, it is not top of the line, but it is certainly pretty high end. It has a decent feel overall, but still know one knows about it. Why is this?!!? I'm not even talking strictly from a development standpoint, as it is just so unheard of. everyone knows about the whole droid line and such, but our great phone is completely neglected. There is no way i'm the only one that is bothered by this, especially because there is so much potential in our phone. I know the locked bootloader, makes things difficult, but a way around that is near, so do y'all think development will take off once we get it bypassed or unlocked? Thanks for listening to my rant and feel free to give your own opinion
Motorola or Att did not push this phone like they did with the original Atrix. Most people are going with samsung (sgs2 or the note). That is why we do not have very many devs. Samsung phone are much easier to work with. I know because i have one. If no one else decides to get this phone that's fine with me. I like the phone as is. Im also happy with the few devs we have. Their work is greatly appreciated.

Once cm9 or a form of ics gets calling and texting going then things will start to kick off. Right now with our limited amount of knowledgeable devs some have lost interest and are just sitting by waiting for Motorola to release ics.

you aren't the only one. It pisses me off. I always have service on this phone, for the most part it's fast and smooth, and the ROM support is becoming awesome. Yet still people don't know the name of my phone , they just know it's "big"

Actually, one of the orignal devs for this phone (been on it since it came out) has not lost interest but is working on kexec for our phone which is BY FAR more important than ICS... The possibilities are endless once we have a bootloader bypass.
Motorola did not advertise or really let ANYONE know that the phone was being released. For example, when I walked into the AT&T store with a $100 and a contract renewal, I just browsed/tried all of the phones they had in stock, and happend to like the feature set/performance of the Atrix 2 the best. The funny part is that I had NO idea that the phone actually came out the day before and was just put on display. Luckily the phone is great and the community to go along with it is even greater.
Honestly I'm on Supercharged right now, clocked around 1.25 GHz, and I can go higher, but my battery life sucks. I don't really care about the attention. We're getting ICS, and I'm hoping I don't have a good enough excuse to go back to stock until ICS is out. Then I'm going back to stock for sure. The speed is great, the lagginess and bloat on the stock rom just sucked, but so does my battery life now. It doesn't really take a whole lot to trim down a stock rom, I'm sure someone will do it for ICS if I don't myself.

Freezing apps does wonders for performance + battery life. I use Titanium Backup for this. All the "junk apps" that Motorola/AT&T installed (that I don't use) get frozen.
The End.
Some of our roms are great, but there are only 4 or 5 or something, it would be nice to see some of the big ones like cm7. hopefully an unlocked BL and ICS will spark some serious development. I think the biggest problem is the lack of serious developers. Who do we really have? Jimbridgman, lfabor06, and Rdavisct are the only ones I can really think of off the top of my head. We all play a role, but only the true genius' like them do a lot of good towards roms and things
To buy an Atrix 2, I had to special order it from Amazon. The local places didn't sell it because it didn't work with LTE in the area, and were mainly pushing iStuff.
Motorola needs to wake up and start tooting their own horn. The Atrix 2 has been an excellent phone, both in the reception department (better voice and call quality than my HTC and iPhone), CPU department, and in general usage.
Plus, there is an untapped market for these types of phones -- business people who just need a basic laptop where all their data is stored securely at one place, either on the phone with the on device encryption (or SD encryption), or using a Citrix receiver.

This really is the truth of the matter. Until we can load custom kernels on the A2, the devs are kinda limited on what they can modify. ICS with a locked bootloader is not much better than GB with a locked bootloader.
My wife has a Samsung Galaxy and the A2 is better in almost every area; reception, interface, speaker...
It's frustrating hearing all the fuss over the Mecha yet HTC doesn't even want to support their device. Sad really, especially if you can't afford another device
I honestly believe the reason the Mecha didn't get the update was due to Verizon, not HTC. I think HTC took the time to make the update, then it went to Verizon's metaphorical desk and sat there. If Verizon can convince existing members to upgrade, they will do it. The more your software gets updated, the less money they make. Stupid, greedy, marketing ploy in my opinion.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about? I've run several ICS ROMs and there's really nothing to get excited about.
One important note, ICS will come (if and when it does come) with Sense 3.6 which is almost exactly the same as Sense 3.5 in the Eternity ROM and the BAMF ROM. Sense 4.x is a big change but ICS won't include it for the T'bolt(due maybe to insufficient memory?) In short, you won't see much difference.
My phone works just fine, it does everything I ask it to do and does it well.
FWIW, I'm running a Gingerbread ROM, Virus' excellent Eternity 8-4 and I'm staying with it, even after ICS is released, unless it's updated to some of the ICS features AND Sense 4.x!
I think the timing of people "abandoning ship" has as much to do with contracts coming up than anything else. That said, the lack of ongoing support for what HTC and Verizon positioned as the performance leader (at least at the time, and certainly as its first LTE phone) is what many are voicing frustration about. Combine that with technology consumers' typical desire to have what is "latest and greatest" and it isn't surprising that folks are looking at alternatives like DNA, S3, Note, N4, etc.
Me... I am happy enough with a stable phone that browses, gets and sends emails, and gets through a full day and evening on a charge. Sure, I'd like better battery life. More so, a better screen (bigger, brighter, sharper). Like a thinner form factor that is lighter. Would really like it to be able to display to a TV easily too. But a famous bike designer named Keith Bontrager had a famous saying when people came to him with requests for the "perfect" bike... "Strong. Light. Cheap. Pick Two." I suspect we will always being looking for the perfect phone and be forced to make our choice based on what is most important (and compromise on what we can do without).
btw, I have tried at least one of the ICS ROMs. And while it was a very good ROM through great work by the designer, the fact that they are all based on the same leak seems to limit what can be done or expected with them, and so those phones with ICS (or better yet, Jelly Bean) will always seem better. I can't afford a new phone now anyway... so hopefully when I can the newer phones will be closer to my ideal of perfect is.

The big deal for me is compatibility. More and more apps these days are requiring 4.0 and up. But really, I only ran the ICS Sense builds once and hated them - horrible battery drain, lag, etc. I've been running AOSP builds since they had working data as a DD, and even with the bugs, these ROMs perform better, IMHO than the AOSP GB ROMs did.
I'm selling my gs3 and getting the tbolt again. The gs3 is nice but too much for me. I could use the money anyway. I personally love the thunderbolt.

I will be voting with my dollars, and loudly telling Verizon that their behavior regarding the Thunderbolt has been unacceptable.
I will be leaving them ASAP, and encouraging as many people as possible to defect, depriving VZW of cash flow. It's a tiny amount, but hopefully disgruntled former customers will make their voices heard.
I was skeptical about returning to VZW for the Thunderbolt. Their betrayal has me convinced that I was right to mistrust Verizon.
Never again. Bastards.

Want to take advantage of Verizon's excellent network (no comparison in my area) for pennies on the dollar of what they charge? Page plus is a reseller that piggybacks on Verizons network. You can tell VZW to go f__k themselves permanently (with my light usage I went from $90 a month on verizon to $12 a month on page plus) and only had to send in my TBolt for some non rom flash thing that they had back to me in less than a week. I cancelled my VZW plan and paid the $250 penalty and have already recouped my costs. I was even able to keep the same number I had with Verizon. The only disadvantages are no LTE (lol on Thunderbolt no 30 min handwarmer) and their maximum data plan is 2 gig data a month. Truly not a shill and would keep this to myself so deal doesn't change in future but the whole VZW TBolt thing has p_ssed me off.

Yeah this has left a bad taste in my mouth for non nexus phones, but unfortunately verizon is the only real option for my area.

Page plus cellular uses VZW network for a lot lower bills so they are an option where ever VZW is as long as you don't need LTE.

I agree that twisted's ICS rom works very well. I have been using it now since it came out. It is very responsive and works 100%. Also there is constant support for it updates are always coming out.
I got tired of no one else creating ROMs for us so I am working on my own right now. Testing the waters on battery life first before I move on to theming and other customizations.
Not going anywhere with this phone. Works too well.

If you're interested in someone doing any testing, I would be happy to test it.
Also, you guys made me appreciate what we've got, thank you
I also love my TB and I have compared it to other phones. This is my first Android phone but I've had experience with the DROID 2 and the SGS3. I do love the S3's bigger screen however but even after I get another phone I will be keeping this phone.

Twisted's (credit also to liquid) rom does rule and makes continuing to the use the TBolt viable for at least some time. The ICS leak and derivatives are not ready to be dd imho plus sense sucks. I don't want to blow $300 (screw contracts) on another phone any time soon so nothing but props to Twisted.
