Hi i need help trying to get 3G on my unlocked AT&T sony xperia x10a. Im using simple mobile sim card which is using t-mobile signals. Can someone please tell me how to get 3G or aleast 3G apn settings
You can't. The att x10 uses different frequencies than your sim card. You can only access edge network.

I have a D2G Verizon rooted and stock ROM. The problem is I am using this phone in middle east with GSM and it never connects to 3G network. I usually get Edge only which is slow, any idea why is this happening?

3g works fine here in Jamaica. Have you checked your network settings to ensure that the phone isn't in gsm-only mode? Try setting it to "Global" or "UMTS", reboot your device and then you should be fine.
When I use UMPS or Global the internet doesn't work at all!

if you have ever been in the service menu and selected the only available option calle "US BAND", you've essentially killed the 2100 band. The only way to 'resurrect' it is ether good knowledge with RadioComm or simply reflash SBF. And never go to service menu and select "US BAND" there...
You may have to enter in apn settings for your carrier to get it to work. Here in japan I had to add the apn's and edit a file in system/etc/ppp with the user name and password to get data working on my wife's d2g.

Ok I have a rooted and unlocked mytouch 4G slide running on Cincinnati bell. I have service but no data connection. Is there anything I can do to get the data connection to work. Would a different radio work?
you need edit some network codes on the sim card. I would just call them and ask, normally the carriers are helpful in resolving the issues.
Are they using the same network as T-Mobile? Also, you may get more help at rootzwiki.

Would this just be a case of going into the settings and entering the CB APN settings?
Assuming you have a wifi connection, go into the market place and download an application called tweakker. Yes, two ks. Anyways, just use that and pick Cincinnati Bell along with the correct plan, and you should be ready to go.
Thanks I'll try some of these out

Ive been trying for days to figure out which frequency band im using for 3G. Here in my country we use both 850 and 1900. Searching through the web i found that i have to access the service mode to see what Channel im conecting to, and that should tell me wich frequency im using, but none of the codes i find seems to work for my Xperia. Any help?

Hi
need your help, I have tried everything..
I can not connect to 3G
I tried to flash image factory/set correct APN setting with the operator/switch radios/replacing new SIM.
didn't helped my!
When I connect to 2G everything works for me, calls and online.
When I switch to 3G, I have no service, it writes me Unavailable operator.
It get stuck on the "Search" when I try to search manually.
When I try to go back to 2G, it is still stuck on "searching.." and I have no reception! Only reboot fixes it and I can go back to work with 2G.
It is important to note that when I take out the SIM I can find operator on 3G.
How can I fix the problem or even understand what it comes from?
I have Nexus tool kit, maybe I can sent you Catlog \ bugreprot?!
Thank You in Advance
What about, when you are in LTE ? Will you get 3G ? You should get either 3G or Edge (came to know that your country don't have LTE yet).

I don't have LTE in my country yet, and my operator only have 2G (no EDGE)
If you choose LTE on your phone, it supports all lower versions (i.e 3G / Edge) ! So you must get Edge (2G) !
LTE option doesn't force only LTE !

I know, if I choose LTE I get the same problem, no service..
Which network do you use?

This. The Nexus 5 very well may not support the 3G frequencies your network uses.

I certainly know that this is not the problem, Nexus 5 is supported in my country
Should not be a problem with the 3G frequencies of both models 820 \ 821.
If that's the case, I'd recommend contacting your carrier.

Correct me if I am wrong, but since the GSM bands are same in the two models, why should there be any problems in connecting to the GSM n/w? i Would've understood had the problem been with LTE, but regular GSM, I think shouldnt be a problem.
gsm r same no problem i think
