I just went back to the stock gingerbread rom for the G2x from using CM7 and the one feature I'm really missing is not having to have the wifi hotspot timeout. I use tasker to turn the hotspot on when I'm at work so that I can teather my tablet and then have it turn off when I leave but its annoying to have to turn it on several times throughout the day after having it time out. Does anyone have a way to keep it on?
Bump!
There has to be a way! Perhaps a terminal command?

So I just noticed another wifi bug. If I leave my house with wifi turned on it never disconnects. I get 20 miles and it still says I'm connected to my home network and the data doesn't work until I turn wifi off. Anyone else experiencing this?

Same problem here!
i just moved the wi-fi, airplane, mobile and blue tooth widgets to one of my screens. at least that way i can be sure of what's off and what's on - assuming they work, of course.
Hello,
I have a galaxy tab 2 obviously since I am here lol. Anyhow I just recieved the 4.0.4 update to my tablet and seem to be having problems with keeping my wifi connection. Now, if I am using the tablet to paruse the internet etc... I am ok. Even if Iput the tablet into stand by for a few minutes and wake it up, its ok. The problem is when the tablet spends a signifigant amount of time in standby, at least an hour. When "waking" up the tablet i can never connect to my wifi anymore without a system restart. Anyone else having this anoying proble since our last update? If I have d/l's going in the background etc... they all get cut off because the wifi drops. Other than this problem, I a loving my galaxy tab! Awesome these things are

Do you have the setting "keep wifi connected during sleep" set to always?

My TF101 not rooted and running stock rom is not connecting to my home WiFi. Note it has been connecting fine for over a year. I have tried restarting it, forgetting and reconnecting to the router but it just won't connect. The funny thing is, when I select my router it doesn't provide any error message or anything; after you press connect, it brings you back to the WiFi screen which shows all the different WiFis discovered.
Does anyone's know what I should do? I'm debating if it's a hardware fault possibly? I'm not sure though. If I have to I can root it and install another custom rom on it.

Try a cold boot
Turn it off, hold power and volume down until you see the white text at the top of the screen, then release the buttons and wait, it should cold boot on its own
I would suggest unplugging your router for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in and see if that helps. Sometimes the router and the TF101 don't want to shake hands.
I had the same problem this week. Wiping cache and dalvik appears to have fixed it.
Funny thing I found out later is that it connects to other WiFi fine. So the problem must be between the router and the tf101.

Hi all, I don't know if this is normal but I just put my phone into airplane mode because I had no internet connection. When I turned air plane mode off I got reconnected and my signal came back but then got a message saying I needed to restart my phone. Is this normal?

No mate, that shouldn't happen.
Its only happened once, do you think it might be an issue with the phone?
Tried to replicate the issue but hasn't happened again.

It might just be a one time hiccup.
Should be ok as long as it doesn't happen again.
