So I just noticed another wifi bug. If I leave my house with wifi turned on it never disconnects. I get 20 miles and it still says I'm connected to my home network and the data doesn't work until I turn wifi off. Anyone else experiencing this?

i just moved the wi-fi, airplane, mobile and blue tooth widgets to one of my screens. at least that way i can be sure of what's off and what's on - assuming they work, of course.

Has anyone else been having issues with their wifi connectivity? When I go into a different room in my house, my phone fluctuates from 3 bars to 0 bars, and sometimes loses wifi connectivity. Anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks.
I wanted to post an update on this. I have tried changing the channel on my router to reduce interference, and I increased its transmit power. Since my laptop gets a fine signal, I wonder if the WiFi on this phone is just wimpy.

I have a different issue on both my and my wife's phones. After sleeping the phone with wifi set to "never" sleep, when I wake it there is no connectivity. It still shows as connected but I have to disable/re-enable wifi to get connectivity back.
I have never had this happen with any other device.

There is an option under wifi settings to use Max Performance. Try that.
Go to your WiFi settings and hit the menu button and select advanced.
Ok ill try that out and see if that fixes it. Thanks.

Hey, I'm using an NS4G and I've noticed three times that my wifi turns on and starts scanning for networks without me ever explicitly telling it to. Any ideas?

Do you have it set to never sleep or the default android. Default sleep when screen is off.

Mine does this when im a bit too far away from the router.... weak wifi unfortunately
I'm using CM7 nightly 8 (Flashing to 12 right now) and my wifi sleep policy is set to never.
I noticed this problem happening while I was at my friend's high school graduation. I had the wifi off since I wasn't at home, and multiple times throughout the ceremony I saw it back on without me ever telling it to.
I've noticed that in the last few days when I turn on WiFi I still get cell data.
I have WiFi then 4g icon with 2-3 bars. Wasn't like that before.

What were you doing when this occurred? Might you have been in the middle of downloading something so your phone waited instead of doing a handoff?

I have noticed this same issue. I usually just turn off the data portion when using wifi, but I am curious as to why this occurs

Nothing really just chillingin the forums or browsing. The phone used to automatically turn off cell data when on WiFi and I might of disabled something somewhere but I've never seen such a option...

I seem to have pretty regular lapses in data connectivity where everything (web browsing, streaming audio, etc.) will just stop, despite continued activity on the status bar icon.
I typically have to either cycle the mobile data on/off or airplane on/off to fix and sometimes have to reboot.
Is this a known issue that should be fixed when AT&T pushes out an OTA update or is my device bad and I should send it to HTC for investigation?
When I'm connected, it's strong and solid - but when it drops, it just flat drops.
There was an ota today check for update, should have been fixed.

I've been on 1.85 for weeks since it leaked. My data drops have not fixed. I also have to toggle airplane mode, sometimes, to regain. I'm trying to live with it, only happens to me when I literally am in such a bad reception area that the signal shows an x

It's ridiculous HTC would release a phone with this huge of a known flaw. You'd think they would be working around the clock to get a patch out ASAP

Yeah, I'm on my third phone, last two did exactly that and I'm hoping that this one doesn't... I just need to go to a place where it always did it to test. I've emailed HTC and asked them to mention the issue to the development team and I got a call from them asking about it, told them I swapped my phone and will let them know if it happens on this one too.

Posted in wrong thread.
all the time (well, most days) does this indicate a SIM problem or a phone/rom problem? Normally seems to happen when I send a few texts consecutive, I need to toggle airplane mode to recover my signal.
Probably sim.

other people are having this issue too.

I have the same issue, Ive done some research and it seems like its a Android problem that when you loose signal for an extended period of time it wont reconnect to. I am having this issue after switching to T-Mobile and getting poor reception in my home.
