Has anyone else been having issues with their wifi connectivity? When I go into a different room in my house, my phone fluctuates from 3 bars to 0 bars, and sometimes loses wifi connectivity. Anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks.
I wanted to post an update on this. I have tried changing the channel on my router to reduce interference, and I increased its transmit power. Since my laptop gets a fine signal, I wonder if the WiFi on this phone is just wimpy.

I have a different issue on both my and my wife's phones. After sleeping the phone with wifi set to "never" sleep, when I wake it there is no connectivity. It still shows as connected but I have to disable/re-enable wifi to get connectivity back.
I have never had this happen with any other device.

There is an option under wifi settings to use Max Performance. Try that.
Go to your WiFi settings and hit the menu button and select advanced.
Ok ill try that out and see if that fixes it. Thanks.

Does anyone else experience a loss of WiFi signal upon covering the too of the phone eg when typing in landscape mode or playing games in landscape. This is a very major drop too where I will completely lose signal strength. Also, are you using a case? My phone is completely bare right now when experiencing this.
EDIT : this happens even when I'm not touching the top, this may be unavoidable if its not just me?

Click settings, wireless networks, wifi settings, click the menu button, click advanced, click best wifi performance. Back all the way out of the menu.
Hope this helps

Thanks I was having same problem with wifi cutting out when I held it with both hands in landscape orientation. Setting it to best wifi performance seems to have done the trick.
I still lose a bar or two holding the phone in such a manner after turning performance WiFi on... it is nowhere near as catastrophic as it was before....
Fwiw I have my router in the same room as the phone and it still happens.... N band wrt-310n with dd-wrt set to a full 40mhz wide band, wpa2.
From what I can tell this setting basically enables mimo. As a result my speeds increased dramatically... I can get a full 16/16 Mbits up and down................ as long as I'm not actually holding the phone

Hey, I'm using an NS4G and I've noticed three times that my wifi turns on and starts scanning for networks without me ever explicitly telling it to. Any ideas?

Do you have it set to never sleep or the default android. Default sleep when screen is off.

Mine does this when im a bit too far away from the router.... weak wifi unfortunately
I'm using CM7 nightly 8 (Flashing to 12 right now) and my wifi sleep policy is set to never.
I noticed this problem happening while I was at my friend's high school graduation. I had the wifi off since I wasn't at home, and multiple times throughout the ceremony I saw it back on without me ever telling it to.
Does anyone know of a good app to fix WiFi on these phones? I remember the nexus having one. I am always having to cycle wifi off/on to jump on AP's right around me. I have wifi set to never turn off, I'm using CM7.1 and have had a few radio versions.
Thanks!
I'm also interested in a fix. Toggling wifi off/on isn't the worst, but it gets old. Seems to happen after connected to the same wifi signal for 12+ hours. I'm on latest cm7, default kernel, wifi set to never sleep, etc.
Try WiFi fixer on the market.

i'm having weird issues with wifi on my infuse...
with all the other roms i've tried so far the wifi signal has stayed pretty solid, but with the compiled CM7 rom wifi stops working if the phone sits idle for any random amount of time. sometimes it works after the phone sits for 30 minutes +, sometimes it dies if i just lock and unlock the screen..
any tips? what information can i provide to help?
bumping up
having the same issues, anyone got some info?
Go to wireless settings, then wifi settings, hit menu, advanced, then change sleep policy to never. For some reason cm7 doesn't default to this. Should help

My problems are somewhat similar on the newest CM7. Mine is stuck on "obtaining IP address, then my WIFI says "disconnected" then it reconnects and still says "obtaining IP address". Please help anyone...!
Just to add too, I have reflashed the rom 2 times same problem each time.

This does seem to help a lot! Thanks!
I think others might be having a different issue.
For me, this fixes everything!

Yesterday my wifi on one of my phones would not turn on. This happened no matter what rom or baseband it was on. Any suggestions?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I also have a similar problem, I rooted my phone yesterday using "unlock root" and it successfully rooted but when I turn on my WiFi it would only work for about a minute. The WiFi indicator still suggests it's on and I can see the reception bars get lower and higher as I move further away from my router but any site or app I use will say I do not have an internet connection. Help would be appreciated, thanks.
