[Q] Extra TF. Anybody want it?

Hey guys. Got an extra TF 32 GB delivered yesterday. Ordered 1 too many. Any body want it. Can have have it at cost plus shipping and any paypal charges.
Also will sell my 16 gb TF. The 16gb TF has been working fine has the light bleed issue, with latest firmware update.
Was gonna ebay it but decided to give someone here the love.

Office Depot GTab

When Office Depot put the VS GTab on sale at $299.00 I quickly jumped into the Android Tablet market and bought one. I love it, it has served me well. In fact, I still have it AND use it along with the several other tablets I now own...
When I walked into Office Depot yesterday, I was shocked to see the cost on the VS GTab has gone back up to $399.00! I was sure the cost of the GTab would decline given all the other tablets currently on the market. Glad to see the GTab holding its value.

But it was right next to the ASUS Transformer running 3.1 and selling for $419 ($399 at Staples). I don't think they were selling many GTabs. Too bad ViewSonic doesn't release an updated OS.

I think the price you saw in the store is probably more from an outdated shelf tag.

I asked the foolio about that and he said that it had been on sale for several months but now that was the current price. Who knows... He probably thinks it runs on Windows too...

[Q] Would you trust this refurbished model?

Hello XDA. I have a birthday coming up in a few days. I'm selling my stupid iPod Touch 4g 32gb on ebay (hopefully I'll get around $150, it's in a great condition with box, etc..), and I'm going to purchasing an ASUS eee Pad Transformer (TF101-A1) 16gb model. I was just wondering if this refurbished model here can be trusted:

I currently use newegg to purchase all of my computer parts and have never had a problem with them, and I don't think I would have a problem with this. I'm just making sure that there won't be a problem.
If anybody else knows any insane deals going right now on new asus eee pad transformers, please feel free to tell me because $300 is around my price point. If I could, I would obviously purchase the prime version, but I don't have $500 to spend..

Got mine from Amazon used for $310, and its a mint sbk1 model. You may want to check around.

I While I can not speak specifically for refurbished Transformers since I do not own one I generally do not have a problem purchased refurbished items and have done so many times in the past. True or not I rationalize that someone must have given them a good once over. For me something in that $ range I would look strongly at the warranty being offered by the manufacturer.

The warranty is 30 days.. so that might be a problem. I dont think ill have a problem with it though, cause if anythings wrong with it, it will probably have an issue within 30 days.

I would trust refurbished models ( make sure they are not just used but actually refurbished ) because those ones have gone back asus has looked over them and made sure they are all good before they are sold again.The BNIB ones go from the factory into a box and are shipped out

I bought one from newegg. The charger had some light scratches from who ever returned it, but it's been good to me. Tomorrow is the expiration of my 30 days return, funny enough.
Also, look again, you get a 90 day warranty from ASUS. And you can always pick up an extended from Newegg.

Do you purchase the extended warranty at the checkout?

No, I have before with a GPU, though.
I trust Newegg to the fullest to not use some crap warranty company. The main reason was that for the $50 the warranty cost, you can get a brand new one, assuming they ever come back in stock. They were out when I bought mine.

I bought my TF from Newegg, that same link. I haven't had or seen any issues with it. Newegg is reputable too.

What is newegg's return policy on an item like this? Restocking fee?

They have an exchange only policy for these. You get 30 days. Their service is excellent, though. No worries. When the pre orders start will people please put links or stores that are offering pre sales in the US

For the US, Canada and the UK the Nowinstock.net web-site was invaluable for tracking availability on the original transformer and then the Prime. There isn't a lot detail on there for the Infinity at the moment but I would expect that to change in due course and as we approach the actual launch date.

Check out their return policy. I would be cautious.

Best Buy had the tf700t up earlier this week with both docks, but has now been removed. It was listed as out of stock the whole time, though.

Unsure, but there is definitely a temp charge / hold on my Discover card right now.

Yep, that's why I was thinking maybe he got the Prime by mistake...
Crazy that although the TF700 is right around the corner, the TF201 is still the exact same price.

It's still 2+ weeks before the supposed release date and I strongly believe we'll see a host of retailers "suddenly" list the TF700t -- I recently purchased the ASUS UX31a ultrabook after waiting for months (has same HD screen) and same experience with no word, no word -- then in a period of ~24 hours it seemed "everyone" was selling them!

I bit the bullet and preordered mine from J&R too. The $5 off, free shipping and 5% back with Discover helped to seal the deal. I chose 1-day shipping to get it faster. If I find it cheaper elsewhere or change my mind, I can always cancel.

I called this morning. They got a shipment in yesterday and will be shipping mine today.... yeah !! :laugh:
Those of you looking to get from BHPhoto.... I wondered if tablets are included in the return policy for computers. In which case possible re-stocking fee. Will need to find out from CSR.
J&R official policy says no such thing. Also, CSRs at J&R have been nothing but helpful and polite so far. I am posting here and on the mother thread that started this one. So, you can imagine how antsy I was and how many times I called (3 times since monday....).

FWIW plenty of TF201 docks available (plus has a bigger battery) and they are compatible.
