[Q] having trouble getting S-Off on my Sensation

I have an HTC Sensation I bought online in China.
I've been trying to gain S-OFF with revolutionary-0.4pre4
I have installed all the drivers and tried it in sync mode, in debugging mode, uninstalled HTC sync on my PC and tried again and still no win.
I've been trying to read up on it but not having much luck. Some other people with v.1.52.708.3 were also having problems. Do I need to wait for a new version of Revolutionary or do I have another option?

Zerging Root... this might take a minute or so.. Failed to get Root!
Press (almost) any key to exit.
after installing drivers on your pc try to reset your pc
then try to connect your phone, maybe this will help
I already tried that
Did you unlock bootloader first?
What your bootloader says on top? **locked** or **unlocked**?
If your bootloader is locked than unlock by HtcDev then try to s-off again.
Thanks, I didn't realize I had to unlock the bootloader first. For some reason the site is not working for me though. After I log in and select my phone the "begin ..." button doesn't do anything.

I use this site "[Exclusive] TacoRoot By Justin Case And Reid Holland: A New Temporary Root Exploit For All HTC Devices" as guide to using TacoRoot, since zerg root not work in "Unrevoked".
I ran along TacoRoot with Unrevoked or you can run unrevoked while TacoRoot. Because TacoRoot will only temporary root. Unrevoked will do the S-Off ing. But other's has different idea. But this work on mine. Oh, one more thing I thing TacoRoot only run well on GingerBread since it not work well on Ice Cream Sandwich when I try.

[Q] IMMEDIATE HELP REQUIRED! Root Sensation Xe on hboot 1.29

Hello there, I was trying to root my Htc Sensation XE, these are the specs:
Bootloader locked
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
eMMC-Boot
Android Version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version: 3.6
Software Number: 3.33.401.106
Kernel Version: 3.0.16-g31a4fc7 [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version: 11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M
Build Number: 3.33.401.106 CL391535 release-keys
Browser Version: WebKit/534.30
I need immediate help on this issue. My hboot is on 1.29 and when i searched for S-OFF , i got mostly 2 methods. One was from htcdev.com to unlock the bootloader via htc site, but somehow i've been experiencing issues with the site (Whenever i log in, i'm logged out like 2-3 seconds later..). That leaves the other method, the one requiring the wire trick.. I've tried that so many times now, every time it says:
Do not remove sdcard from phone
Do wire-trick now!! Look instructions at web
Waiting device....
Found device... Please wait...
Getting into bar.....
Raising Glass
SUCCESS - Taking a sip.
SUCCESS - Beer is tasty.
SUCCESS - Beer is tasty.
SUCCESS - Beer is tasty.
SUCCESS - Beer is tasty.
SUCCESS - Buddies and Beer
Checking alcohol level......
Let's take one more......
S-OFF Failed
Errorcode: 66732337
ErrorMsg: Still sober
Quit....
Press ENTER to exit.....
I'm really worried, as i want to do a Custom ROM as soon as possible, but am really confused what to do.. Please help!!

No man, you have understood it wrong.
1)You should UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER with HTCdev website. If you do not unlock your bootloader you won't be able to do the next steps
2)Install the recovery with fastboot
3)Root
4)S-Off with Juopunutbear.
5)SuperCID if you want to
6)Custom ROM
That's the order of things, don't change it, or you'll face problems. Try the HTCDev website untill you unlock the bootloader
Read THIS thread, it has everything you need. It's for hboot 1.27, but it works with 1.29
actually he can do the juopunutbear method for S-OFF without using the HTCdev website
but yes first root
Just keep trying.

Juopunutbear Prerequisites:
* Be unlocked using the HTCdev bootloader unlock.
* Be rooted (have superuser and/or an unsecured boot image installed)
* Have a spare microSD card or back up all contents of your SDcard
* Have fastboot and adb drivers installed and working (windows)
* Have usb debugging enabled
* Have a length of insulated wire of sufficient length to join the contact points for your device (paperclip)
At least that's the only way I know to do it

[Q] need help

Hi guys,
first of all sorry for posting this request in new thread..
actually i am not able to find the relevant solution (i could say that my searching skills are not so good)....
I need to update my os from 2.3 to 4.0
steps tried:
first of all ...all posts suggested me to root the phone....
1. tried to root the phone using DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su but it says failed.
2. tried to root the phone using htcsupertoolv3 failed.
now i have installed android development kit on the computer and have htc sync latest version installed so i am able to communicate to the device still the problem persists.
i tried to use the site htcdev for bootloader and selected the device htc chacha and asia india there it says *HBOOT update required.
now my device details are
CHACHA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.04.0000
MICROP-0557
RADIO-7.47.35.17
may 31 2011,14:19:21
still i went ahead and tried to run the htc bootloader and got the message
your ROM version is not the latest version please upgrade to 1.57.720.1 to apply this RUU to be able to unlock your bootloader.
on your phone go to menu > settings > about phone > software updates > check now
i did try to update but it says no updates available.
please advice the next steps to be followed....
Was there an error 190? I had to downgrade my chacha before I could unlock the bootloader, rooting was easy however. I used a program called Unlock Root. If you search for error 190 you will find a way around it, there is a post somewhere in the forums here.

[Q] get_identifier_token (waiting for device)

Hi
I am trying to unlock my hboot following the instruction on htcdev but when i try to get the identifier token it gets stuck saying waiting for device even tho my device says fastboot usb and i have tried various different thing but nothing help.
does anyone know if having previously updated my hboot when installing ice cream sandwich on my desire s or the fact that i am using a windows 8 pc going to be causing this issue.
my hboot screen reads
******* locked ******
saga pvt ship s-on rl
hboot - 2.02.0002
radio - 3831.19.00.110
emmc boot
Thanks
Luke
ask your question here.
anyway I don't think you can unlock a ICS bootloader. you have to downgrade your Bootloader
Sent from my supercharged :tank:
Afteer upgrading to stock ics 4.0.4 - with ruu from htc site,
, i think i used that same unlock token by which i unlocked previous 2.3.5 version,,,
, so it is possible,,,used to that windows xp machine- i cannot tell you anything
, about windows 8 though
I always check that my PC can talk to my phone first by running adb devices or fastboot devices, as appropriate.
My guess is that you need to update your drivers for Windows 8.
Search for Windows 8 drivers in the main Android Development thread of XDA.
Sent from my HTC Desire S
It looks like a problem with htc drivers, maybe there's a problem with windows 8.
Reinstall the drivers and update SDK, it doesn't help try on a different computer.
Click the link in my sig, on post 2 there is a link to a set of instructions for installing the drivers on Win8.
