[Q] [ASK] S-OFF Tutorial for H-Boot 1.29 - HTC Sensation

All,
My HTC Sensation XE has been back from Service Center for repaired.
Previously my HTC H-Boot version 1.27, now H-Boot version 1.29
The problem is I can not do S-Off for this H-Boot version.
The process failed in Windows and also Linux.
At the first time I tried to check the connection between my laptop to my HTC using command "adb device", the result no HTC serial number shown
I have check USB Debug on Eeveloper Options before do this
May I ask help for this? Is there any procedure/tutorial for this H-Boot version for do S-Off without unlock bootloader?
Thanks

[Q] S-0ff successfully using AlphaRevX but still networked locked ?

The HTC Desire S is originally from O2 with all the usual branding etc.
Sucessfully S-off using AlphaRevX (Windows 7 version) without any issues (no unexpected errors etc) however, when I tried to use another simcard ie. Orange it still says 'network locked'. Is there something I have missed after completing the AlphaRevX process ? I did complete a factory reset after getting 's-off'
Thanks in advance guys !
i don't think the s-off has anything to do with unlocking the network. I believe you will have to pay for that. You can remove any bloatware if you want though. You can use a custom rom.

s-off doesn't touch your network lock status - you need an unlock code.
Try searching the forum as I've seen other threads about just this very recently, you need to purchase an unlock code, either from your phone supplier or off the internet
If I was to use an XTC clip to unlock the network, now that I have AlphaRevX with HBOOT showing as 6.98.1002 do I need to downgrade the HBOOT back to it's original one of 0.98.0000 ?

I seriously wouldn't recommend using xtc after alpharevx, as you'll completely invalidate your warranty.
Alpharevx team are currently working on a software method to reverse your soff status, where as using xtc is soff is permanent
You can buy a network unlock code from least than twenty pounds.

I can't find the thread at the moment but there is a network unlock tool on the board somewhere. Have a search and I'm sure you'll fund it.

Locked Hboot with S-On?

Hi, ive just got a phone off ebay and trying to s-off it.
Problem is that when i go into the hboot it says:
**LOCKED**
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
Revolutionary tool says invaild key when i run it.
Any ideas how i can get S-OFF? Maybe the guy who had it before me has made it S-ON again to sell it? Any help would be much appreciated!
I just S-offed last week, and i am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff...i also was getting the invalid key. I did a SEARCH (lol) here and found out that the letters i was typing were wrong.
My solution: copy and paste the revolutionary beta key into notepad, then type the keys in notepad to confirm you are typing the correct letters
I found out that the "I" is actually a lower case "L"
Which hboot version? Anything over 1.18.0000 isn't supported

I read that this could be the after-math of someone unlocking through htc dev and not doing it correctly. So I have to back track to go forward.
It's not got ICS yet, still running GB. There is a system update waiting but I want to root first before any update.
Hboot 1.18.000
I did try the copy and paste. The one major issue here is that on the hboot screen it says **LOCKED** at the top shortly followed by S-ON which tells me that somethings very different.
1.18 has a "locked" status on top. That's normal. Revolutionary is compatible with 1.18, but it's possible that it was rooted with htcdev...
There is no "unlocked" 1.18 hboot. That's why rev will downgrade you to 1.17.
I'm running 1.18 with s-off by use of revolutionary and then reflashing the 1.18 hboot I extracted from 1.50.531.1ruu. It shows "locked" at the top as it did to begin with...
Maybe try flashing the ruu and trying revolutionary again...

Unlock bootloader, S-Off and rooting are 3 different things.
HtcDev unlock bootloader but it doesn't neither s-off nor root the device.
To prevent "headhaches" is better follow these steps:
1) Unlock bootloader through HtcDev (then it will show **unlocked** on top but still S-On with 1.18 Hboot)
2) S-Off by revolutionary (don't remember if it downgrade Hboot to 1.17 but I think it does).
3) Install a custom recovery.
4) Root the device
Hope it helps.
COMPLETELY ignore the advice to unlocking on HTCDev - you're letting HTC know you're rooting your phone. ONLY use Revolutionary to get true S-OFF
To the OP: HBOOT 1.18.0000 WILL say Locked at the top. This is 100% normal and HTC brought it in with the 1.18.0000 HBOOT. S-ON is also normal so what you're looking at is designed that way and is how my phone arrived when I first got it
I think you should try get the beta key back or make sure paste it to get correct keys. I think the ***Locked*** won't be problem. Revolutionary will unlocked it. If you got error during root process you may want try Taco Root method during Revolutionary process.
Thanks for your help guys!
It was a very stupid mistake on my part not copying the key from revolutionary over correctly. I was entering O's instead of 0's (zeros). Notepad was the saving grace after 3 hours of reading that showed me the correct key and stopped me from trying other methods and maybe screwing up the process.
I'd never seen a **Locked** with S-ON hboot screen before and not knowing what a person has done before you on a phone when buying off ebay can lead you into unknown territory.
S-Offed and running some Sense 4 now. Beautiful! The wife is pleased! Wouldn't mind some Sense 4 on my Gnex now - Never thought i'd say that!
Thanks all for your help!
I'm selling my Nexus to get the One X...not long now

[Q] My HTC Sensation XE is VERY S-OFF ?!

Hi to all friends!
I have Sensation XE with S-ON... After doing all tutorials to S-off, my phone is still unusable for GSM Network
First OEM phone was with HBOOT 1.27.0000 .
This is what i do next...
-unlocket bootloader via htcdev.
-used this to S-OFF: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
- After few reboots, on HBOOT menu instead *pink* "JuopunutBear", shows "-revolutionary-" but.... its still S-OFF. Anyway i tried to go
-Change my CID to 11111111
-update my radio with Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M to use newest ARHD
-Installed ARHD 6.6.4 without problem
Now.... I have "MAYBE S-oFF", because still I can't use any SIM to work, here is screenshots:

Does anybody have idea what else I can do to this Sensation can work?
This is very tricky....
Having s- off is a good thing as it will allow you to flash custom roms and radios ( as long as you have super cid).
Have you tried any other radios? I flashed the latest 11.72.3504 radio for China to fix my reception issues but am not sure if it will work for you...

S-Off doesnt mean your phone is Sim-Unlocked, thats totally different, but easy to do
Hey friend... yep, i think that s-off is security off, or sim unlocked... But it seems it is different. Can you give me advice for best sim-unlock? Thanks!

Have you tried a different sim? sounds like the phone could be blocked/barred?
Yes, its work on 2 other mobile operators (we have 3 in total), on one (mine) doesn't work. What is blocked/barred? Is there solution for that?

[Q] Touchscreen issues

Hi folks,
I have recently replaced the touch panel on my Sensation and it does this,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv7Je4S8Tmo
I've tried this but I get a security warning.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360638
Any other ideas?
I've seen a few posts about reflashing with an RUU, but both unsure of what to download.
Any advice will be muchly appreciated,
Mark

What is the security warning you got? and what it your bootloader status? (S-ON/S-OFF)
also, if you don't have SuperCID (Which is highly probable) you should run this fastboot command (needs to be booted to bootloader): fastboot getvar cid
you will get your CID number, and according to that, get your RUU.

Security warning is, Security fail!
Update fail! In red
It's S-off version 1.27.000
I don't think I have SuperCID
CID is HTC__001

If you have s-off, back to the GB RUU, and you try OTA ICS Update.

I've dug up an old RUU that had an OTA update and the issue is still there. Any other suggestions?
I've got some details of the touchscreens, if you're interested.
The one I had before it shattered via dropping was PYD_6042A_FPC REV A
mk V5
The one I ordered from eBay is,
HF-135 V1.0 2012/11/26.
As you can see, there's no real significant difference in the part numbers past that they are totally different..
Any advise?
