[Q] My HTC Sensation XE is VERY S-OFF ?! - HTC Sensation

Hi to all friends!
I have Sensation XE with S-ON... After doing all tutorials to S-off, my phone is still unusable for GSM Network
First OEM phone was with HBOOT 1.27.0000 .
This is what i do next...
-unlocket bootloader via htcdev.
-used this to S-OFF: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
- After few reboots, on HBOOT menu instead *pink* "JuopunutBear", shows "-revolutionary-" but.... its still S-OFF. Anyway i tried to go
-Change my CID to 11111111
-update my radio with Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M to use newest ARHD
-Installed ARHD 6.6.4 without problem
Now.... I have "MAYBE S-oFF", because still I can't use any SIM to work, here is screenshots:

http://i45.tinypic.com/1692gqr.png
http://i50.tinypic.com/33f7olj.png
Does anybody have idea what else I can do to this Sensation can work?
This is very tricky....

Having s- off is a good thing as it will allow you to flash custom roms and radios ( as long as you have super cid).
Have you tried any other radios? I flashed the latest 11.72.3504 radio for China to fix my reception issues but am not sure if it will work for you...

S-Off doesnt mean your phone is Sim-Unlocked, thats totally different, but easy to do

Hey friend... yep, i think that s-off is security off, or sim unlocked... But it seems it is different. Can you give me advice for best sim-unlock? Thanks!

Have you tried a different sim? sounds like the phone could be blocked/barred?

Yes, its work on 2 other mobile operators (we have 3 in total), on one (mine) doesn't work. What is blocked/barred? Is there solution for that?

[Q] S-0ff successfully using AlphaRevX but still networked locked ?

The HTC Desire S is originally from O2 with all the usual branding etc.
Sucessfully S-off using AlphaRevX (Windows 7 version) without any issues (no unexpected errors etc) however, when I tried to use another simcard ie. Orange it still says 'network locked'. Is there something I have missed after completing the AlphaRevX process ? I did complete a factory reset after getting 's-off'
Thanks in advance guys !
i don't think the s-off has anything to do with unlocking the network. I believe you will have to pay for that. You can remove any bloatware if you want though. You can use a custom rom.

s-off doesn't touch your network lock status - you need an unlock code.
Try searching the forum as I've seen other threads about just this very recently, you need to purchase an unlock code, either from your phone supplier or off the internet
If I was to use an XTC clip to unlock the network, now that I have AlphaRevX with HBOOT showing as 6.98.1002 do I need to downgrade the HBOOT back to it's original one of 0.98.0000 ?

I seriously wouldn't recommend using xtc after alpharevx, as you'll completely invalidate your warranty.
Alpharevx team are currently working on a software method to reverse your soff status, where as using xtc is soff is permanent
You can buy a network unlock code from least than twenty pounds.

I can't find the thread at the moment but there is a network unlock tool on the board somewhere. Have a search and I'm sure you'll fund it.

[Q] RUU and HBOOT screen question

I have a sensation that was locked to orange, i S-Off'd and rooted, and un sim-locked but after the screen started playing up i decided to to unroot and S-On, in case of any warranty issues. When i S-On'd i flashed a stock HTC Europe ROM, if returning for repairs can i use this ROM or do i need to use the stock Orange ROM?
Also when device is in HBOOT, above Pyramid PVT Ship S-On RL it says ***LOCKED***, what does this mean? Does it mean it is not completely back to stock? I cannot see what it means as the device is no longer simlocked as it takes a Tmobile sim.
Thanks

Actually it means that you are back to stock. I take you still have super cid as you flashed different ruu? That would be an instant giveaway that you've tampered with your phone if they happen to check it.

Yeah, i used supercid, i wasnt sure how to find the specific cid for the stock ROM, if i use the correct cid for that ROM will it remove any traces?
Thanks
Thing is now you can't change cid as you are s-on LOL. Keep looking for your original RUU, then s-off, change cid to original one and flash stock RUU.

CID
Can somebody explain how I can return my CID to default before I run the RUU for my region.
I know my CID was HTC__001 and I have checked the guide in the dev section but it just say to run the command
fasttboot oem writesecureflag 3 which I think turn S-on??
Yeah i understand i need to return to S-Off thats not the problem, how do i find the cid for the stock ROM? Orange UK 1.35.61.1
hope it helps

Thanks a lot! Exactly what i needed, will be flashing stock Orange ROM pronto!
One other thing, If i have any trouble with my phone, as it is sim unlocked by myself, can they tell this even with S-On, Stock ROM and CID? I know that if you go in there they often ask for you phone number etc, (i could just get a free orange PAYG sim and stick it in if i ever have any trouble) and if i tell them it and its flags up as a Tmobile number will they refuse to repair as well (as they can tell it wouldve been unlocked)? Also the phone was off ebay and i have no proof of purchase, but its in an orange branded box and the phone has orange branding on the back, should this be legitimate proof?
Thanks
My phone was unbranded when I bought it so I can't answer your questions, sorry. I hope some one comes and helps.
Let me know if it works OK to get your CID back to your default, I need to do mine tonight but I'm a bit wary of doing it and the whole RUU process.

Ok i shall do, I hope someone can shed some light!
I have just S-Off'd and written the CID, seems no problem and i am just about to flash the ROM, i shall update you in a mo.
Just follow this guide and you should be fine!
Cheers

Just finished flashing the ROM, everything seems ok, although i now need to edit APN settings as Im using a Tmobile sim and an Orange ROM. Good luck and let us know how you get on, it is reasonably straighforward!
All sorted no problems at all, I just restored stock ROM then changed my CID back to HTC__001 then I put s-on and viola back to stock phone.
Sucks when your used to custom ROMs

Its HTC__001 ,the one you are looking for.
11111111 is SuperCID, if you send it back with that CID, they can tell you've been fiddling..
Are you completely sure HTC_001 is the unlocked cid in Denmark aswell? Coz there's a way to flash it back

Okay so i tried with HTC__001 that wouldn't give me danish language, so i tried again with the Denmark cid and everything works now! Just sure hope thats the cid they use!
Thx for the help !
EDIT:
Once moar
You will need to flash the RUU with superCid, then change cid back to land code and then remove s-off

Downgrade from ICS back to Gingerbread (SensationXE )

Hello,
Upgraded to the ICS Ruu Beta. Happy with ICS even with it being a beta its really good. I'm very unhappy with the battery life though. I can take my phone off charge at 9am , By 2pm my phone is already saying that its going flat and needs charged. By half 3 my phone is flat :'(. The power was never the best but at least I got most of a day from it.
I would love to go to the Orange Ruu . ( As it has the wifi calling option that I really really want!!) . But the one that I downloaded keeps saying that the model ID is incorrect. In the past the unbranded HTC rom was fine. Now after going to ICS I want to go back to gingerbread but I keep getting the same model ID not recognized.
I would love if someone could help me get my Sensation XE running the Orange Branded Rom . ( I don't mind if it had to be a Sensation Rom unclocking my processor ( Giving a better battery life ))
I think the problem is that you have SuperCID so the RUU cannot recognize your device as Orange branded. What you need to do is find the Orange CID and change it back to it via the same method you used to SuperCID.
Why? If there is an Orange RUU then just flash it as Super CID will allow it. If you're getting the Model ID error that's because you've NOT got Super CID as you can't flash a non-XE RUU on an XE model without it
Thanks for your replys,
Whats supercid? My phone was a Phones 4 u de branded HTC sensation XE. Does that mean anything or have I just not understood ?
Jamie
Just had a google to see what it was . I seen a post [First result on google after searching super cid] about it. I have downloaded the file but don't know how to do the commands it says :O. Would getting this working work with the Orange rom? In the past I have had Other roms working via clockwork and had it rooted but dont have any of them options since flashing with ICS Ruu
Edit 2 - **LOCKED** , Pyramid PVT ship S-off RL. Hboot 1.20

Certain things, e.g. RUUs, need to have the correct Carrier ID on the phone in order to install via the bootloader or recovery using the PG58IMG.zip process. The Latest Firmware packs for example are grouped together into sets, this is to allow you to install them if you don't have SuperCID. If you have got SuperCID you can install any of them as all the CID checks pass.
Another reason to change the CID if to allow you to install a generic RUU instead of the one that came with the phone, this allows you to remove the bloatware. For example I'm on Vodafone and I installed the generic Euro RUU purely to get rig of the Vodafone crap that came pre-installed.
The process to change it back is identical to the way you write the SuperCID just using your original CID (mine for example is VODAP001). IIRC HTC__01 is the generic CID

Hey thanks for your response
Ok so I have s-off and super Cid just a few more questions if u don't mind
1. can i install any ruu for any android phone or am I limited?
2. Will installing a ruu for another phone effect the way my current phone works
3. When installing a ruu.exe for another phone will I have to follow the same bootloader unlock method for that phone or my phone?
Sorry for the newbie questions but I have limited knowledge of super cid however I have been rooting for years now
I heard some bad things about super cid but have not had any issues thus far, the guide was very easy to follow and in fact just to make sure it was working I was able to ruu backwards
Thanks for your expertise you r awesome

1)with s-off and supercid you are not limited
2)it won't affect anything at all
But probably you will have some official updates from the specific carrier(if you have)
3)I think it depends from the carrier of the Ruu you have chosen
But actually there is no need to unlock the bootloader because you are on s-off
Edit:in second and third question what do you mean by another phone?
I assume you mean another carrier
If yes then yes
If you mean another device(for example Samsung)then absolutely no
Of course you can use any ruu but only from sensation's devices

NO- you cant/shouldn't flash another model phone's RUU on another
there is a high chance of bricking the device if you do that
Does SuperCID also network unlocks the phone?
There is a lot of confusion on the internet about SuperCID. I have HTC One S which is locked to T-Mobile and I want to get it network unlocked. the "strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p6" method did not show unlock_code for my phone (though it has worked for some other people). While googling I found that doing SuperCID by changing mmcblk0p4 can also network unlock the phone. Please let me know if you have some idea. Thanks.

Sim unlock with Hboot 1.29

Hello guys,
I think my sensation xe is simlocked to T-Mobile. I have bought it off ebay and had returned it to the seller for repairing the camera. The seller has apparently fixed the issue but when i insert my sim card it does not connect to network and gives error 'your sim card does not allow connection to this network'. I have tried the settings inside phone information(*#*#4636#*#*) and also the sim unlock guide method 1 and 2. But it still does not connect. I think that the sim unlock method failed due to Hboot v 1.29. My device info is as follows
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
Hboot-1.29.0000
RADIO-11.24A.3504.31_M
OpenADSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418

Is there any was to unlock this phone? Any help would be awesome...
Thanks!

Does your phone ask for pin? Usually phones with sim lock don't do that and you'll get the warning that the sim card can't be used.
Maybe try to manually select the network in settings.
