That's not even close to being right. I'm not overclocked and can't get over 775 and there is no way possible a OC to 1.5ghz can more than double that.

haha sounds a little buggy to me

844 running CM latest nightly no OC. Stock CM kernel.

832 running stock CM7 @ 190 density. No custom kernels.
My score was on par with what it said Sensations were. I've heard CM7 benchmarks are usually lower compared to straight stock roms.
This also seems to heavily rely on browser technology. I wonder if the SGS2 marks higher with its acceleration?

Yea, the hardware accelerated browser definitely helps. Whether anyone likes Samsung or not, they are proving to be the biggest innovator in Android today. Not to mention, since the Hummingbird was introduced, they have always had some of the best processors.
By the way, as I said in my previous post on here, the best I got on the stock Rom was 775.

Hmm. I think this benchmark has major issues. Under system info it claims the second cpu has zero as its speed but reads the first one correctly. I will try it out again after they fix dual core support.
Edit... looking a little closer explains the scores. It is a biased hack test produced by a rival chip maker.

Calm down everyone. It would not be the first time there was a bias in a benchmark. I played with it for three seconds, noticed it does not even recognize the second nvidia chip properly and said something about it. Now did Qualcomm just make a crappy benchmark or did they do it on purpose?
Why does it show zero for the speed of the second chip? That's all I wanted to know. Apparently you do not have the answer.

Rooted stock rom on my first run.

is it flawed? or i just have a magic tegra2

Of course it's a flawed test. Scores are all over the place. By the way...Don't act like this is the only flawed test out there. There pretty much all flawed right now since most of them don't know how to use the Sensations processor correctly. It's the only CPU that throttles down to a single core and most of the benchmarks are only using one of it's cores.

[Q] Getting "upgraded" to a Galaxy S

So I currently have a T-Mobile MyTouch 4G that I really like, I have Cyanogen Mod 7.0.3 running on it, and I get great battery life. I have some dust under the glass, so I called T-Mobile and they said that they would happily exchange it, but that they don't have the MyTouch 4G and that they will "upgrade" me to the Samsung Galaxy S. Looking at the forums it doesn't seem like there is much development for these phones. Should I tell T-Mobile that I want a different phone? or are there custom ROMS that I can run on the Galaxy S? I really like the 16 or so hours of battery life I currently get, plus how fast the phone is. Thanks.
Sgs4g is about the same speed.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
The phones are about the same speed but the mytouch4g has 768 mb of ram and the sgs4g onlu has 514... The mytouch 4g also is rated higher on quadrant. But imo the sgs4g is gear more for adults. They are still developing roms. The only one I know of that is actually stable is the deodexed stock kd1 by whitehawxx. There will be alot more soon especially now that drhonk has gotten the test sgs4g.

U dont have to lie the sgs4g gets MUCH better framerates if thats what you were asking...for some reason the quadrant scores arent as high but I can assure you that the hummingbird has a much better graphics card than the snapdragon plus it has a little bit bigger screen so I think that it is a bit of an upgrade and when it does start getting more custom roms it will just be the super phone that it should be

Benchmarking favour anyone?

So guys,I might have a chance to exchange my Desire HD for a Sensation(Plus some money of course),but I want to be sure before I set my eyes on the Sensation only.
To help me choose, could someone do some benchmarks for me?By benchmarks,I don't want stuff with stock rom or stock CPU speeds, but I mean some heavy benchmarking with full dual-core support(Mike's way or anyone else's),full CPU overclock(nothing less than 1.7GHz-Not even 2GHz would damage anyone's phone during ONE benchmark),GPU overclock(I read it's been done in some kernels-Wasn't possible on older Snapdragons) and generally everything that boosts performance. That would be my daily setup(Yes,I'm that mad ) and, also owning a Galaxy S 2,I won't be easily surprised.
So,the benchmarks I'd like to see are:
-Linpack's multi-thread test
-Nenamark 1 }I'd prefer Nenamark 2 but anyway.
-Nenamark 2 }
-CFBench
-Smartbench 2011
-Antutu benchmark
-Quadrant benchmark
If you could post your setup(Rom,CPU speed,GPU speed etc),I'd be deeply grateful too.
Many thanks in advance,I hope I'll be joining you soon.

Yes,I read about that, but I care more about graphics this time,as that was what disappointed me with my past HTC devices and made me switch to Samsung.Qualcomm's CPUs were always really good,no doubt about that so I don't exactly care about that.Synthetic benchmarks also don't mean ****,that's why specific benchmarks like Nenamark for GPU and Linpack for CPU are higher in my priority list. Also,in Smartbench,I care more about the gaming index score.
Thanks for pointing it out anyway.

Quadrant Scores

My Skyrocket gets way higher quadrant scores than a friend of mine's OGS2.
3500vs3100
Yet... On every visual test he gets 20fps MORE than I do? Why is his score lower? the phone feels faster than mine.
Thoughts?
Overall I found the OGS2 to be smoother with the animations, etc.
Graphic tests (2D and 3D) are only some parts from the overall Quadrant test (CPU, Memory, I/O, Graphic). If you're using Quadrant Advanced, you could see scores from each test performed.
What if you try other benchmark app such as Antutu ? You'll get more detailed result.

And the OS itself seemed more fluid than the skyrocket.

Strange Observation
Today I received my replacement SR from Amazon and I ran few Quadrant tests and was constantly getting 3000+ score, with highest being 3360. Without installing anything else I just rooted the phone with Easy Root and then re-ran Quadrant test few times and did not get 3000+ score even once. The best I got was 2500. All other scores were between 2200 - 2300.
Any idea why rooting the phone can cause this drop? I also noticed that after rooting, the phone does not feel as snappy as stock.

you all realize that quadrant is only good for comparing devices with the same screen resolution, right?
The Gnex is running at a much higher resolution and becuase of that the scores will be lower in Quadrant.
Quadrant runs at the phones native resolution so the gnex has to work harder... I cant believe people still use this as their proof....

OverClocking HTC One x

Hey guys,
Had a question regarding overclocking. I have root n installed setCPU. The max limit is 1500Mhz. However with max settings the performance is the same. Is there a way to go above this limit with root + stock Rom?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Do you really need to overclock it? It's the most powerful phone out there, with a processor that is ridiculously fast as is. What do you expect to get out of overclocking?
I am jus looking to see the phone operate at max capabilities. And also the responsiveness is really good after setting it to max values currently so just a bit of curiosity as to how far can I stretch the limit of the phone
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Have you tried the dual core mod? I have noticed an increase in responsiveness after flashing it. Right up your alley methinks.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
FYI
Until we get custom kernel overclocking isn't really an option even with the mode that OC's you to 1.8ghz there's little to no difference. Cheers.
This may be off topic but why 1.8? Was that value chosen arbitrarily?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
The overclock speed is determined by what voltage we can get the CPU up to safely without burning it.
1809mhz (1.809ghz) is the fastest we can go right now though this could easily change with the kernel source.
And 1.8 does feel faster, but it really isn't necessary. I haven't come acorss something yet that makes this phone skip a beat.
Yes but how did you decide that this was a safe value? Is it from stress testing and monitoring the temperature? Or is it like in the HTC Aria where the CPU in the phone was actually spec'ed to run 200Mhz higher than what the phone shipped with? Or something else?

From what I've read about the CPU and the archetecture the processor should run 2.5Ghz I dunno at what voltage. Also can handle 64gb memory and 2gb ddr2. Personally I'd never run the CPU to 2.5Ghz seeing how that'd result in about 1.75x the amount of Mv's the chip is getting at stock and no internal cooler.
They designed the CPU to run at 2.5Ghz btw. But a phone doesn't need to hit that.. a laptop yeah. Tablet maybe? A phone, no, to small. Also not every phone will hit the same overclock no two dies are the same. The closer you get to the center of the silicon the more stable chip. The very out side chips aren't as stable so also 1.5-2.0ghz seems the best trade off for this variance.

From what I've read about the CPU and the archetecture the processor should run 2.5Ghz I dunno at what voltage. Also can handle 64gb memory and 2gb ddr2. Very true, my Xooms tegra2 can hit 1.7GHz no problem whereas my Atrix never hit 1.3GHz without crashing. Both use the same chip set.
Hail Cobra!
Can you imagine 2.5GHz tho :O
I'd do it, run linpack, take screenshot and then never do it again lol
Hail Cobra!
As of right now 1.8GHz is extremely snappy, I would love a 2.0GHz module just to say my phone can clock the same as a desktop computer.

My chip was from dead center of the silicon, the ultimate in stable overclockability. Other chips fought hard to reach the center of the silicon, but 'twas my chip that prevailed. Just thought you should know that.

Shouldn't have run that LCD tester app huh? I've got dust under my screen right where the beats audio logo is, making it an imperfect circle. I think it adds character.
