[Q] Problems with HTC Sync - Contacts not updated any more (error) - HTC Desire S

Hi Guys,
I used my Desire S since some months, and syncing with Outlook was workins perfect for contacts and calendar.
but since some weeks, the syncing of contacts is not working any more.
Is there any way to re-initialize this sync again? On WM I always choose an option to sync it once in just one direction, e.g. PC-> phone to recover such an issue, but there is no option I found in HTC Sync to recover from this state?
Any ideas?
Thanks, GeScha
PS: I haven't found a thread covering this in Desire S section by search. So sorry for issuing a new thread if there is already one somewhere. Just let me know where it might be.

Duplicates EVERYTHING

Hi All
My universal and outlook seen to have duplicated everything at least twice.
I have searched the threads and come to the conclusion it is another M$ error, but can anyone please recommend a util (preferably free) to search through outlook or the phone and remove the duplicates?
Thanking you in anticipation
Lee
Unless I'm missing something here, wouldn't it be just as easy to go into Outlook on your desktop and remove the duplicates?? Then, sync the phone again??
and in case it's not duplicated there set activesync to "make my device to match outlook" mode
Hi
Quick replies
Yes it would be easy, but there are hundreds of entries.
And unfortunately the dupes are on both outlook and my universal
Still searching google for a solution
I've had this problem also, my contacts are duplicated 3 timesa and it's hard to delete it. still looking for a solution.
i had that problem before. and i know where it came from. i had yahoo go installed and i had goosync both syncing with outlook. all that syncing messed everything up.
Here is a solution - let the phone sync, and make sure that it's properly synced (not kidding). Then get a tool Anti-Dupe from w*w.anti-dupe.com
It's a desktop tool for removing duplicate entries (TODO, calendar, contacts, memo). Well it's for free, so don't expect too much. It just does it's job.
P.S.: Make sure you let it remove the duplicates one by one (ie first Contacts, then Tasks) and not everything at once. After it's done, the phone will sync and voila
Works for me almost every week (I sync 3 devices with Outlook - WM, PALM, Samsung).
A HUGE thank you
Does it work for you then?

Calendar sync issue

I found a lot of questions and answers about sync issues with htc sync but I was wondering if anyone has had this issue. I have the sync setup for conflicts to use the last modified item. I had several appointments that I had scheduled that entered into my Hero. When I got home I synced it so they would be in my outlook calendar. Sure enough it did add them to the outlook calendar but it deleted them from the phone right after adding them. Is there anyway to prevent this?

[Q] Windows Live in Android

Hi guys,
Looking on switching from WinMo to Android... Is there a way to sync Windows Live Contacts and Calendar in Android?
I would agree this is a noob question... But I didn't find conclusive information searching the forum.
Please... It's important for me since my main mail is @hotmail and all my contacts and calendar events are stored there...
Thanks!

Yes. I did both at one time (I'm using google exclusively for sync now). I think you can set it up either in Accounts, or set up the Exchange email service, and then in accounts you can set up the sync.
Guarantee you can do it, though. Whenever I flash a new ROM, I have to tell it not to sync my live.com contacts and calendar.
Tnx!
I will look some other "details" and will probably flash Enery Desire HD this week.
Cheers.

Thanks! I just flashed. I'm fighting some other details. But Live Account worked great!
Cheers.

[Q] Double calender items

I have a nice brandnew Desire S, no custom rom (yet) and all original.
I'm experiencing a calender problem I can't find any info about on google.
I have both a google account with appointments, and an exchange account with appointments. When I make a new appointment in outlook, it get's replicated okay to my phone. A moment later the appointment also gets replicated to my google account, and therefore appears 2 times in my calender app (HTC).
Also when I make a new appointment in Google (on the phone or on PC does not matter) it first shows on the phone once, and later it seems to get replicated to my exchange account and it appears also in outlook and twice on my phone.
I dont want replication between the calenders, I just want to be able to look at both calenders.
Anyone an idea about what I am overlooking?
Thanks!

From within the HTC Calendar application
Calendar->More->Calendars and un-select one of your calendars....either Google or Outlook.

But that's not what I want. I want to be able to look into 2 (soon 3) separete calenders, without getting all appointments replicated to the other calenders...
But somehow the problem got solved. The described behaviour has suddenly disappeared. Pitty I don't know why ;-)

We're you running any additional Sync software on your PC, HTC Sync or Google Calendar Sync?

Change of dates/time on the Desktop(Outlook) are not displayed on the desire S.
New dates / deleted dates S appear on the desire.
The Exchange account was already deleted on the desire s and newly created.
is there a solution for this?
with the search I found not much.

Michael
Hi, found this post while googling.
Same problem as you, Exchange 2k3 and HTC Desire with Android 2.3.5.
I tried the same account on my personnal phone (same model, but with Cyanogen installed (2.3.7)) and I don't encounter any problem.
Did you find anything on this ? (installing Cyanogen on the customers phone is not an option )
