Local Tmobile store closes to reopen as Sprint - HTC Sensation

Went to the mall to visit my local TMobile store and when I arrived they were hauling out all of the stock and their computers etc. The T Mobile person in charge told me it was just a physical inventory but two of the other reps are friends of mine and at first they said they could not say anything only they might be back looking different. After the while store was cleaned out they finally told me that if I wanted an Evo3d they could probably set me up with one in a few days. It looks like they are switching to Sprint, currently as of now there are no Tmobile stores within a 30 mile radius. I could understand switching to AT$T but why Sprint? I would rather deal with Sprint but just cannot understand why one of their stores would make the switch to Sprint before the deal with AT&T is even approved. Anyone else know anything or have seen or heard anything about T Mobile stores going to Sprint? This puts a whoile new light on whether or not I keep my replacement Sensation that arrives tomorrow.

its probably not a official t-mobile store.

+1 ,probably an independent

Wow, same thing happened to me here in Illinois. Went into my local Mall and everything was gone. Sprint was right next to them, I ask the rep there if he knew what was going on and was told they just packed up and left. I also do not have another T-mobile store within 30 miles of me.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/23/tmobile-stores-att-merger_n_883561.html

for the past couple months T-mobile have been pushing out dealers that have limited retail space (stores within stores) or unwilling to pay renovation in order to have more appealing like official mobile store.

authorized dealer.

I just found out that the gentleman I spoke with first was an actual T Mobile Dist employee of some sort. He was not very friendly and would not say anything except "physical inventory" as they carted the stuff away. It seems the store was Authorized Dealer (Into Mobile is the name of the firm (I believe) they were set up exactly like a so called corporate store.

most stores that are in the malls are independents, there is a official t mobile store across the street from our mall that has a t mobile store in it also, and its an independent dealer

Sprint TP2 in Stores

Just like the Verizon thread, but for Sprint. Anyone seen it in the stores?
Same here....my friend is a Store Manager for Sprint and all the stores in the area have not received any TP2.
You Better Order Online!
Sprint Stores don't have the TP2, I was there on Monday, and they told me that will provably take one more week, so I'did order it online, and I got it the very next day, they are fast in there shipping dept.
We're gonna pay tax on this sucker no mater what right?
well, I haven't found it in a Sprint store yet, but I went to a T-mobile store and tried it out. After calling up a web page and seeing how gorgeous it was (and comparing to a HVGA G1) I was sold. I went straight from there to my local Sprint corporate store and plopped down the cash. It should get here sometime early next week
They will have them in stores starting 10/11, same as the hero, instinct hd, and maybe instinctq. They can order it for you, if you wait you can probably get it off of amazon or letstalk for >200 after 10/11 though

not with my SERO plan I can't. I maybe could get it through Best Buy at a cheaper price, but I decided to just go for it as I really needed a phone and there are no guarantees. Maybe I could get it cheaper if I waited, but I'm already saving a ton with my SERO plan so I don't feel so bad.

How are stock levels at the stores?

Just wondering if anyone has run into the g2x being out of stock or heard of it happening. Have not seen any posts saying it was but curious.
i went to the store like 30 mins after it opened. No lines or anything for the g2x. just some old people and one lady getting a mytouch4g and asking if the tmobile rep knew her gmail username and password but back to the point, i was their first g2x purchase and he said that particular store had like 15 or so. no accessories tho.
I went to the store like an hour early to get the phone and was the only person there lol. But they only had 10 units total .

It's 7:30pm here. I just walked in and bought one. They said they had plenty in stock.
I walked in at about 4:30 to my local T-Mobile store and they were sold out. The guy there called the other T-Mobile store in town and they were also sold out. Apparently the person who walked into the store right before me was going to buy 5 G2X's anyways, so I missed out by a long shot.
Glad I have about 20 T-Mobile stores within 20 miles of my residence.
A T-mobile store manager told me that each store has been alotted 10-20 g2x for sale.
The store I went to said they only had about 6 in stock. I was the 4th to get one.
My store hadn't sold any by around 2:00pm, but they had sold several Sidekick 4Gs.

Walmart dropped Tmo?

My local Walmart dropped T Mobile in the past week. The Best Buy mobile store at my local mall has as well. Do they know something we don't know? Just seems funny. Is Tmo still at your local wallyworld?
Out here in northern California, you haven't been able to buy T-Mo at Best Buy for a couple of years. I think it's nothing more than a contractual thing cuz you can still buy T-Mo at Fry's. Could be that T-Mo didn't want a big chain retailer competing with them or just that they wouldn't cut the deal that Best Buy wanted. The other thing you could try is to ask someone at Walmart. They may not know but you won't know till you ask.

Those two are the most consumer unfriendly store out there - it is all about margin (on everything ate WB and big ticket items ate WW). If they are not squeezing enough out of the deal - the would drop anyone.
Tmo deals are available everywhere (best ones directly for TMo retention), so probably getting hard for Worst Buys and Wallyworld to skin off enough from their sales.
Was at a WalMart last night (not my regular WalMart) and saw the T-Mobile display there. My local, regular WalMart still carries it, also. So, it must not be universal.
Sidenote: This was the first WalMart that I had ever seen an actual wireless department set up outside of the electronics department. It was in the front of the store, so it was like one of those mini-stores inside WalMart, and they only had Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Maybe it is like a previous poster said, for the stores that no longer carry T-Mobile, WalMart and T-Mobile may not have been able to come to a contractual agreement that everyone could agree with.
ETA: It could be the same as the scenario where my former employer is an eyeglass & contact lenses retailer, and used to have their own spots inside WalMart. About 10 years ago, WalMart decided that they wanted to launch their own eyeglass & contact lens min-store inside the stores. So, as each one of our store contracts ended, WalMart was not renewing them, thus allowing them to do their own thing.
Walmart here in lexington ky had tmo for years! They recently dropped it and sprint has taken over there spot!
Two WAL-MART I was at yesterday still were selling the phones.

interesting. I've heard that Walmarts sell a lot of regional stuff based on local needs. But I would've thought that their TMobile contracts would be based on their huge customer base. Sprint is what the clerk said took up Tmos space here as well...
Both Worst Buy and Wal-Crap sell TMO products here in Los Angeles.
best buy hear in south texas hasn't sold t-mobile for a while.but walmart still does. they even have their own brand that can only be bought at walmart Straight Talk that runs on t-mobile network.

SERO plan users.. How are we getting the replacement Note 7?

I created this new thread for those on Sprint Sero Plan only. How are we getting the new replacement phone since we can't activate the phones at Sprint stores. Are we suppose to call employee telesales again?
Thanks
I just added a Poll on top so that you guys can vote.
Interesting question but I wasn't thinking about replacing the phone... There is nothing wrong with the phone that I currently have.

Why would you call telesales?
i am a sero customer and got my note 7 thru my local store thru the upgrade and 2 year new contract, i contacted my local store other day and was told they would contact me when the replacements are in. I will double check this tomorrow and i just received notification that my phone wants to UPDATE and i assume thats the RUMORED 60% charge max, not happy about it! And via the link my IME is apparently compromised!

Yes all Note 7 sold before 9/15/16 will show up bad when you check the imei.
Also the latest update is ph9 and it doesn't have the 60% charge rate.
Just went to three stores. None of them could or would process return for Sero.
Two of the stores had replacements that they brought out but when they tried to process the return they couldn't do it.
Finally called telesales, transferred multiple times, over a hour and a half on the phone and they are shipping mine.
I went to a corp. store with my sero Note 7. Sales person asked me if I worked for Sprint at some point, and I said I was really close friends with an employee. She said "oh", and mentioned my plan and exchanged my phone. They did ask where I bought it, and said online. But, no issues, no fuss, no muss.

Did they need manager override? Both stores said they couldn't do it until the manager was in. I called customer service from the store and was told the same.

They did need the manage to enter in his code, but I wasn't sure if it was because I made an appointment/reservation online (which flags it as a new device activation).

They asked if I wanted to activate, and I said I'd do it at home. But getting the phone was no problem.

did you show them your original receipt or did they process your return with your account number only? Im not sure what to bring to the store. that's why.
They asked me where I bought it (online), and I told them corporate is telling people to go to stores where she issued a "that figures" sort of look. No receipt or paperwork... my phone number and email was all that I had to provide (other than the phone). I wish I held onto all the accessories, though.
I'm a Sero500 customer and went to a corporate store, they exchanged and activated it no problems. The manager was on a phone the whole time I was there....so the manager wasn't needed for mine.

i would watch out. I went yesterday to a sprint store here in Van Nuys, CA after i got out of work and about 30 minutes before that i was told that they had the silver one in stock after making me wait for an hour i was asked if i had the box and i replied for what? No i don't they then told me i had to pay a 35 dollar restocking fee if i didn't cause they needed the serial number off if the box. I then told him that all the number that are in that box are in the phone and that was a bunch of b.s. Mind you this that was a sprint corporate store not some kiosk in the middle of the mall owned by habib. Well after some arguing and i told them just get the phone ill just call sprint later and have then refund me these 35 dollars they come back and said they only had the blue one. I was pissed then he said they would waive the 35 dollars i yelled some f u at him and proceed to call sprint about the issue they are now sending me my phone and some added $$$$$ of my bill for the trouble.
Anymore updates? .. im planing to call telesales next week to get my replacement..

I was a sero 500 customer and then I changed over to the sero 1600 family plan. Anyway, the corporate sprint store gave me my replacement. I don't see why they wouldn't. Telesales told me to go to a corporate store.

No Z Fold 2 In-Store at TMobile On Launch

So I've got super frustrating and disappointing news that I'm curious if I'm bearing alone at this point or not....
TMobile doesn't have the device in stock in store ON LAUNCH DAY at any locations in my area. I'm in Dallas and not in a rural area by any means. Not a single location has stock, and I worked with an associate at my local TMobile store this morning to call around and some weren't even briefed on the device or knew about it. Let alone knowing that today was the global launch day and that they should have gotten shipments in this week. There weren't even any shipments on log for delivery at my store.
I called a TMobile rep assuming they would have more information, and it was a complete dud. Same situation with basically every store. I realize it's a specialty device and I had assumed there would be a limited release, but to not offer it anywhere in a major metropolitan area on launch day? Absurd.
I'm using my device trade-in in order to upgrade, so I'm unfortunately stuck having to go through TMobile and can't purchase it anywhere else. My question is if this is the same case for anyone anywhere else in the country with TMobile? Or is it somehow just Texas or my region? I'm lost for words and had to put a pre-order on a device that's already out....
Not sure what is going on but was surprised that Tmobile waited until yesterday to even announce pricing on Twitter.

You're not alone. Shortages are world wide. My carrier (EE) the biggest network in the UK with an exclusive partnership with Samsung don't have any stock to send out let alone in store. S.Korea is going to have to wait for their launch day (imagine that on home turf).
Samsung completely underestimated demand.
Hang in there mate, I am trying to do the same.
.
Yeah, they've officially admitted to shortages "in some markets" although that may not be what's happening here; this is a dog for carriers as they'll move few of them and they take up valuable shelf and floor space that could be used for something that sells in numbers. The hardware is profitable but a sideline for them, it's about getting people into the recurring payment scheme and a cheaper phone that moves serves them better than something like this in that respect.
