there is a bunch of clutter right now on mango, but you should read as much as you can so nothing goes wrong, it finally made it to my phone
sure after about 6 hours of reading and actually doing it. but trust me, it is well worth it, you won't regret it, mango is awesome!

Am I right in thinking that it's Mango OR sideloading? There's no way to keep HTC Youtube and Navigon on my Omnia 7 and get Mango?

lol what a small world, i live in auckland, nz.. im in north shore to be exact, though i`ve decided not to upgrade to the beta as i heard some incomplete features and such. so im better off waiting for the real deal.
Might have some luck with the Samsung network profile tool. It does handle registry edits since it can setup for mms,etc. Read somewhere it uses provxml also. Not sure of the name it need to be and would have no way to test it.
Do samsungs have access to read/write to the windows directory?

I am thinking of getting this phone. But before doing so, I would like to know if there are any developers who would be building ROMS for this phone etc. Since the GM750 will be running on WM6.5, I'm sure there would be developers who would be cooking roms for the GM730 also. And is this phone the same as other windows mobile phones? Meaning able to install ROMS and CAB files etc?
The price is very reasonable compare to other WM phones. And that would make it fun to just buy the phone and play around with cooking ROMS into it.
It is upgradeable to 6.5 from company itself. U can upgrade it from Service Centers.

Where did you get this info? I saw an upgrade to 6.5 only for Chinese users.

I got an email from LG Australia that this is ready for download/update - but have not got it working so far

Just spoke to LG support who are aware of the problem!

LG GM730f - Factory Default raw files Dumped
Hi All,
Just in case anyone would like a working copy of the default factory RAW files I have managed to successfully download these using the ItsUtilBin tools.
Would I be correct in thinking that I might then be able to use one of the Kitchen utilities to create this in to a ROM update?
Hopefully I'll get time to contact LG tomorrow - I wonder if they will be kind enough to use FTP? ;-)

Apparently someone in LG Aust does know about the 6.5 update and the latest knews is that someone from LG Technical is supposed to be ringing me this afternoon with details?
I didn't catch the name of the person i spoke to, but I'll certainly be happy to help you if I get a copy of the ROM!

So although they did know about the 6.5 upgrade it *appears* that it wasn't *approved* by Telstra - or at least that's what I was told.
They also seemed to understand that their upgrade process wasn't all it could be? Head over to the other thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5480790 and keep an eye on things?
It's well worth downloading the Service Manual for the GM730f LOL

In the meantime I'm trialing some of the SPB Software and it makes it look a whole lot more usable - but I can't wait to get something decent on the phone - OR it's up on ebay and I'll be looking for a Samsung replacement...!!

AFAIK windows mobile isn't open source. So the kernel code is not available.
Android however is open source so you can download its code to port it to other devices.

I hope I understand your question. Android is a very user-friendly OS, so it's not important if you're familiar with it.
If you buy an HD2, there will be android available for it in future and maybe also windows phone 7 series.

I've been following the 'Leo" for a very long time but since then new apparatuses have arrived & all this talk with Android, I just wanted to make sure that by the time the HD2 gets here it would still be proper to buy.
You have calmed my nerves & waiting for the HD2 is "still" at the top of my list. Its been awhile but good things come to those who wait.

I figure here is the best place to say this, Android is lagging in so many ways I'd be a fool to go there. The Dell Mini 5 looks good but the Android really is lacking. I truely hope Windows can get themselves into the cloud as quick as possible. Regretfully the HD2 isn't allowed there (WIN7) & to wonder how long before another phone would be developed with regards to the mighty HD2 makes me accept the HD2 & use it for the lenght of time until the WIN7 becomes usable, concidering this is a new decade with new ideas.
I don't think I will have any regrets doing this.

I would say that buying a HD2 this close to the WP7 launch is a bad idea, especially if he wants WP7.
There are no warranties whatsoever that WP7 will run on the HD2, at least not good. I would imagine that it will take a while before it will work as good as a "real" device

You're right but the HD2 has got in my opinion the biggest chance to be a WP7 phone. Sure it will take a while.... but I'm patient
Unfortunatly he's not because of his birthday.
Conclusion: Buy a WP7 device hahaha

I have a T-Mobile Germany branded Omnia 7 and I want to switch it to the O2 WP7 Rom so that I can use the O2 services and the TelMap Navigator Software thats free for O2 customers. Is there a particular CSC file that might have this information in it. thanks

Theres a key for changing your carrier but you are looking something else than him..... anyway install mango it has spanish as language

Thanks for trying to help, but I really need to know if I can flash a Stock WP7 ROM, no T-Mobile, no AT&T, just stock..
And I don't really want to install Mango, I'm trying to keep the emotion for september (if I don't like Mango, I think I'll say bye bye to WP7 and get an EVO 3D)..

First, I don't think Mango sucks, but if it disapoints me, I THINK I will change to Android :S

hmmm maybe try this thread if it doesnt help i wont bother you again i hope that you dont need interoperability .... since that wouldnt work with sideloading but the other apps are ok
i dont know if mango is supporting market place in argentina yet .... http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/0...crosofts-windows-phone-7-international-reach/ its not in the list for marketplace but for localised service ..... so maybe i will work

Argentina support is coming later in the year. As for Apps depends on what you are looking for alot of people don't understand or get that the most used Apps in iOS or Android are are baked right into Mango. This is the issue and the lie that alot of iOS and some Android fanboys and journalist are spreading, well WP7 does not have the 100s of thousand apps as the other 2 well for 90% of people it is not needed and is just there so figure out what you want. Learn the system and you will find lots of hidden surprises.

I just saw the new Windows 10 Mobile (right now the final version I think) and was allowed to test the new system for a couple of days... And it's extremely impressive! :good:
But, 'cause I love the variety of Android, I don't really want to buy a Windows Phone...
So... is there somewhere a launcher out there I didn't found by using Google? Everything I found hasn't anything to do with the new "Windows 10-Mobile-Look&Feel".
I know this isn't a common topic, but perhaps other XDA-Friends are searching for this, too?
