I'm not sure if this is the right place for this. But I was hoping someone could make this into a zip that we can flash in CWM. I was just looking for the off animation when you lock the screen. Like on the Nexus S. I'm holding off for GB till the bugs get taken care of so this would be for Froyo.
I'm running GummyCharged and PBJ Kernel.
Thanks in advance.
Hi if your unsure where to put a topic then just put it in general. Second there really is no way for screen off animations and such without gingerbread. Someone else may know how but I haven't seen it

Kind of what I figured. Thanks for the quick reply.

anyone see how the mt4g turns on and off like an old television? i always liked that. anyone know if it's possible to get that on the g2x? i've been rooting/playing with android since g1 and am very good with adb. but have no idea where to begin or if this is even possible. thanks in advance.
It's part of Gingerbread 2.3 so as soon as LG updates the 2x it should do the old CRT shut off animation.

I believe the crt shutdown was removed from gb. If I recall correctly.

My Gingerbread Nexus does it, but it is an option that can be toggled.
the CRT animation is part of GB. my NS has it and my stock mt4g didn't.
also from reading the forums it seems that the animation is part of GB's framework and can't be installed on froyo.
edit: I made this post literally hours before IMNUTS posted his new kernal, with that new kernel you actually CAN change your boot animation. This method still fixes your laggy boot animation though. As always, if you found this post at all helpful just click the thanks button!
In case you're wondering, it's not the ROM or even Voodoo causing the boot animation to become so choppy, it's the kernel. Check IMNUTS' post on his PBJ kernels and you'll see it's a known bug and he's working hard to fix it.
So anyway, to fix your boot animation just follow the guide below. It's a very simple process so don't worry :]
1) Go to the Android Market and download a boot animation changer. I would recommend 'Boot Animation Changer LITE'. It's free and incredibly simple to use.
2) Next, open BAC Lite that we just downloaded and select 'Change Animation'.
3) Finally, choose any of the boot animations and hit the 'Download and Change' button.
That's it!
Dude that freaking worked! I had tried to change my boot animation before, but I never noticed it actually fixed the choppiness! Thanx man!!!

Glad to help!
made it a little better, mine is still a tad bit laggy and the "DROID" voice sounds funny... but its noticably better thanks for the info

No problem I noticed it wasn't flawless and still just slightly slow but the stock animation wasn't fast either, the stock seemed like it was running at 6-10fps
Much better thanks!
Eclipse 1.3
Edit: According to Kejar on twitter we have custom boot animation for the CHARGE now!
Can't wait for that release
Didn't work for me. :\
My boot animation was full 480 x 800. I downloaded the R2D2 animation as a test and it runs MUCH better than mine.....SOOOO I will reduce the height and width of my images to the smaller height and width of the R2D2 and see if that works.
Of course the desc coding stays at 480 x 800. I guess it's easier on the system.
I would recommend just upgrading to the 7/30 pbj kernel. It's a simple flash in clockwork, allows you to actually change the boot animation and fix the lag.

Ok....that's what I have. Is there a setting to fix the lag?

there is no fix for the choppy stock droid eye boot animation, even on imnuts' new kernel... what you can do is put your own in place of it or download 'boot animation changer' from the market which when used will kinda even out the stock one
blazing through on my VZ Droid Charge 4G
I would like to know how or what the BAC app does to smooth out the stock boot animation?
I'm not sure at all, all I know is it fixes those choppy animations. It still runs a little slow but the stock boot animation ran just as slow.
Sadly it didn't work for me.
You sure you followed the directions correctly? If so, what is your current setup? kernel/ROM mainly.

That's it! Your boot animation will stay the same(the kernel doesn't actually allow you to change your boot animation... YET!) but the lag will now be evened out.

Sorry, I was just passively trying to get a suggestion for more professional animations.
I'm trying to get an auto-rotate animation like.. well.. the iPhone. I've been reading a few threads but nothing for the G2x.
I don't think anything but devices with the Motorola Applications Platform have it.
Unless you've seen something else?
Nope. Haven't seen anything like it but was hoping it was possible.

You do realize that the animations actually slow down Auto-Rotate...
Yeah. I don't mind waiting an extra second.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
If anyone know a dev that could help that'd be great. I know Android is about efficiency and being snappy but I'd like to get a little animation with it. Thanks.

I second the OP.
Well, I think I've seen it on Honeycomb 3.0 Tablets... So I'd search around on the Tablet forums.

One more thing.. I really know zip about developing or themes but I just need the signal bars like the one in the leaked ICS picture. Pretty much honeycomb signal bars but cyan since I use cyanbread. I want the battery to stay the same.

If you wouldn't mind, could you please send me a copy of your SystemUI.apk so I could try to add the Signal bars... I'll try my best, no promises though.
Honeycomb 3.2 has animated rotation on my TF.
On Eaglesblood 2.3.3 1.09 and pretty much any 2.3.3 ROM there's a fade in to the homescreen, and THEN the lockscreen appears. It gives you a peek at the desktop. This is really annoying. Anyone know what i can do about it? Any ways to turn it off? I tried GOlauncher and it's a no go, still the fade in animation.
I believe it's a problem with the OTA itself... I don't think the Launcher has anything to do with it.
It happened on 2.2.2 stock based roms as well.
I don't remember ever seeing a fix posted for it. Its a nuisance for sure.
Hmm. it's quite annoying. Whatever, I re-flashed MIUI, i think im sticking with that.

That's because that rom is based on cm7. The issue mentioned above is with stock and stock-based roms.

I really hated that issue. I think we should ask one of the lovely devs here if they are able to use there time to be able to fix it.
Its not really that important but I get bothered really fast by it. Idk maybe its just me. I thought I was the only one, thanks for ur post.

not positive but I remember reading that someone flashed the screen off/on animation ZIP and it got rid of that little bug.

That is what I did. Works great. No more home screen preview then lock.
I recently updated my Sensation to ICS, and I already love it, but I do kind of miss the CRT off animation. Does anybody know how to make a flashable .zip for just the on or off CRT animation? I personally don't really like the on one but I love having the off one, so if anybody could help me out with this that would be fantastic
No one is really focusing on CRT animations. I think the dev or mods are waiting on a stable release.
Oh yeah, that's true I guess. I'm running HyperNonSense and that seems to be pretty stable so far though.
Yeah, I'm waiting for CRT on off animation, too.

I already answered this in another thread in this section, please use search before posting.
Short answer - I am working on it but a lot is different in ICS than the GB files I am using for reference and also my job is keeping me very busy at the moment so i dont have much time for it

I actually did search and I didn't see it come up. But okay cool to know that someone is working on it
Does anyone have any news regarding this?
Am so missing the CRT animation!!!
Thanks in advance.
it requires changing framework-res file...but all roms are in beta right now....by the time final comes, all will have different frannework...so modding a beta framework is waste of time...as.then you'll need to do it on every beta release...which is a pain in the a$$

Ah okay.
Thanks for the reply
Hoping I will see it in final release then.
