Fade in animation before lockscreen - T-Mobile LG G2x

On Eaglesblood 2.3.3 1.09 and pretty much any 2.3.3 ROM there's a fade in to the homescreen, and THEN the lockscreen appears. It gives you a peek at the desktop. This is really annoying. Anyone know what i can do about it? Any ways to turn it off? I tried GOlauncher and it's a no go, still the fade in animation.

I believe it's a problem with the OTA itself... I don't think the Launcher has anything to do with it.

It happened on 2.2.2 stock based roms as well.
I don't remember ever seeing a fix posted for it. Its a nuisance for sure.

Hmm. it's quite annoying. Whatever, I re-flashed MIUI, i think im sticking with that.

That's because that rom is based on cm7. The issue mentioned above is with stock and stock-based roms.

[App] Sense 3.0 Lock Screen

For those of you who like/love the lock screen of Sense 3.0 then this app is for you. Its called Agile Lock and it has tons of options/settings for things such as changing the font of the lock screen, of course being able to have the 4 app shortcuts on the lockscreen just like Sense 3.0, and much more. I spoke to the dev/one of the devs behind this masterpiece (Bo Zhang) and he seems pretty cool and he said if I/we have any ideas to help improve this app then feel free to email him @ [email protected].
This app can be found in the Android Market by typing in "Agile Lock". There is a free version and a paid version, but I definitely recommend buying the paid version.

Why doesn't it work? Try emailing Bo and tell him. I'm pretty sure he'll make it work. He seems very understanding. I emailed him about 2 ideas and he said one of the ideas will be implemented in the next release and the other will be in the one after that. I just finish emailing him. He's awake!
Edit: I just caught on to what you said. Sounds like its an issue with CM7. Maybe you can contact one of the devs and ask them how to make it work. They should be more than willing to make it work since CM is about personalization.

Did you restore specifically for this app or you just like the stock rom? I'm on the stock rom also and I personally don't have any issues with it. I honestly must of had one random reboot in opposed to 5-10 on Froyo.

XDA member Sarni84 mentioned that same issue. I'm on the non rooted Gingerbread OTA so I can't check right now plus I'm at work, but when I get home I can extract the CM7 file to my computer and search through it. In the meanwhile go to the CM7 posting and see if anyone has found a solution or can find a solution. I usually get home around 5-6pm Eastern.

Working terrific so far. Looks absolutely identical to regular miui. Except keyboard which is a tiny bit smaller I believe. Also noticibly faster in general. I do recommend it from my experience so far.
been running ICS build since it's availability and everything has been smooth and stable. it "feels" faster than any other MIUI build i've used, but could just be placebo effect unless ICS' hardware acceleration is really working.
i even had wifi calling working a couple times, but this has not been consistent. sometimes it worked and other times i had the "invalid sim" error.
can't really comment on battery life as i'm still re-calibrating.
the only issue i've run into is a Market FC only when i try to swipe through the screenshots for apps...weird.
other than the issue listed above, this rom has been great and error free for me.
tried it out.... hated the Ui would much prefer weapon x ui with ics improvements and toggles going back to weaponx 2.8.
Been using the ICS build. No crazy real world speeds were felt by me. Only going to keep running this build if the battery life is better than the regular one.
Missing extended power menu. Might be missing gps.config fix & APN fix files in this ICS build.
Looks & feels the same as any other MIUI Whitehawkx has ported over.
Installed just now...works great and benchmarks return 2700+. Also, I was having terrible problems with Youtube before with any other MIUI version (very, very, very, verrrrrry slow loading). Now Youtube is faster to load than when it was with Gingerbread.
THANK YOU Whitehawkx!

I had that happen but only because miui considered it a favorite app and wanted you to submit a rating.
That's the only thing I found impressive was the media player, galnet player. I'd love to see it in cm7 or in a market.
Playing with miui on my G2 just to get a feel for it. Would have moved it to g2x but I need T-Mobile wifi to work

New to Thunderbolt

Just switched to a TBolt from OG Incredible. Was running cm7 on it, and loved it. Just wanted some idea as to the best version of cm7 for Tbolt and any other things to make it run better. Any help would be appreciated. I kinda dont have time to read thru 10000 posts in the cm7 topic...
Welcome.
I don't think you're going to get a ton of help with a first post like that, but you might want to check out the CM7 links from the forum post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081930
There are also a couple posts at the top of here and the Q&A subforum about what roms people prefer.
I don't have CM7 on my thunderbolt, but on a different device. In general, CM7 is stable enough such that the recent nightlies, if not the latest, are usually the best. However, currently most of the CM dev work is focused on ICS/CM9.
I just came from dinc last week. I had senae 3.5 on mine, though ive flashed every dinc rom ever available. You may want to try a sense rom, i was shocked how smooth 3.5 mikrunny is on this, and it all works. I will try some aosp roms soon, there is a cool one with ics theme, pretty slick. Just experiment dude, this phone rocks.

If you don't need MMS, I highly recommend MIUI. On the other hand, fully featured and most awesomely completely customizable - Gingeritis 3D. I personally switched from Gingeritis to AOSP recently, better battery life and faster performance but you can't use VZW apps. I'm currently running on Thundershed CM7 nightly and I will probably run this until CM9.

[Q] Video Recorder forceclose!!!

Using the most recent Hellfire Phoenix Rom I am getting camera force closes often and all the time when switched to video recording. What's up with this? I've tried the LG cam.zip also...same thing...
I've got the same setup on two G2x's and this is only the case with one. Would the best thing be to re-flash? I was hoping there might be another way because the one that needs the help is my work phone and I hate having to set it up completely each time I install a ROM or whatever.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...and I would have used the development thread for this but I have less than 10 posts currently. I normally don't have issues or anything that I can't figure out myself with search or my skills. LoL.
I told this to someone else earleir and this might also be the case. Every phone despite being developed the same may not work the same. For example, not everyone knows but there are 4 models of the g2x. Not all roms are compitable with every version. I would suggest looking up the version you have and bringing that to the attention of the developers. And yes, by the way, you can access the development thread and you can post on them. Most of the responses for bugs are people with less then 10 thanks. As far as a fix, I don't know. Look through the thread for your rom and see if anyone claims this issue. If so, there should also be a fix somewhere in there. If not, let the dev know so they look into it. Again, MAKE SURE YOU LET THEM WHAT MODEL P999 YOUR USING!! As for where to find that, I'm not sure. I know 2 of them are the lg p999DW and the lg p999DWP. Theres 3 others but I don't know how to tell which they are. If i figure it out I'll let you know.
Edit: under the battery cover. Not under the battery though. Right below the bottom of the battery next to the screw youll see it in white print.
Edit 2: Kinda curious, which rom version are you using?
LG-P999DW is what both phones read.

ya i must have read that too fast and just put it together as both phones aren't working... the only thing i would suggest is just a simple reflash of the rom, no wiping just reflash it. if not then proper wipe and flash, if not that then nandroid back to a rom you were positive the phone's videocam was working.

Jerky Slow Scrolling Stock Browser

Hopefully someone can help. MY phone is driving me nuts.
I think I am currently using ROM Cwm-GB-2.3.6-Octane-V3.0 XPLOD NO CIQ (phone shows GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6). If those are different then my ROMs are not flashing.
About 6 weeks ago (running Octane 2.3.6) everything was running just fine then I flashed the power menu and my stock browser became jerky/laggy/jumpy. I have tried loading ROM after ROM but I am getting nowhere whatsoever. I tried flashing some Kernels but the same result every time is the jumpy browser.
I think I have applied the power menu fix but I still have the same problem.
Current Kernel is 2.6.35.7-T959VUKJ6-CL694130
I really only use about 2-3 website and had got used to the browser so using a 3rd party browser is not what I want. Besides I’d like to get this fixed and hopefully understand a bit more of what’s going on.
Thanks
I would try using the scrolling tweak by dsexton.

I'll look later today. Seems like common solution for jerky scrolling it to patch framework.res and disable scrolling cache, which is overloading garbage collection.
Edit: Looked at it, unfortunately it's may improve only scrolling in lists (it patches AbsListView.) The browser scrolling cannot be improved this way.
Edit2: Fixed in Barebone 1.0.8

So, yes, its like that for everyone that flashes. Do everyone a favor and read at least the complete op of anything your going to flash.
