500,000 new Android's activated daily - General Topics

The leader of Google's Android development Andy Rubin tweeted yesterday that 500,000 new Android's are being activated every day, and the number keeps growing. Woah..

500k? wow! And what was it...less than 3 years ago nobody even knew of android devices? dang!!

Amazing. Wasn't it just 300000 a few months ago? :-O

I think it shows that as these devices (Smartphones) are becoming more and more a part of everyday life and do more and more, people want choices and android allows them to make those choices and configure their device they way that the users want and not lock them up in a little box like Apple.
PS - Before any haters start slamming me about putting down Apple, just know that in general Apple is fine for some things and they make some great products but are slowly losing their grip on the best and must have phone.

That's pretty crazy.

I'm not surprised at all, many android phones are really cheap, even cheaper than nokia tardphones. Too bad the price we high end users have to pay for this is "fragmentation"...

That's pretty sweet, Half a million daily. soon the OS will rule the world! *evil laugh here*

yea...its because its open source and manufactures can implement it without any fees , if they go for other operating system they have to pay for its licensing fees like windows 7 os , so no wonder manufacturer's are leaning towards it .

It sure is a lot, but I am very curious about the number of iPhones that get sold/activated each day...

wow 500 is alot

well
like the guy sait couple of posts up ios is used only by apple windows has to be paid for but android is open source ergo all cheapoo co. like the dual sim knock offs all r using android or a modified version of it

i like that...android will be updated more and more if it stays so popular!

I am not surprised by this. The amount of customization that Android phones allow you to do is unmatched. I went with Android also because they don't steal apps like Apple has tended to do.

And what did the media outlets report...iPhone 5 is going to be the nail in the coffin for Android. At 500K per day, I think Android has debunked that theory months before the 5-er comes out.

it's so good

Android Dies Tommarrow?

Will Android Die tommarrow once the Iphone is announced for Verizon? I think so. As a former 5 time Android phone user I cant wait. I gave the robot every chance. But without the support of Devs making applications an OS is useless.
Enjoy!
honeycomb is gunna rock peoples socks!
Do they use cdma in other parts of the world?
??????
... must ... not ... correct bad spelling ...
Yeah -- have fun with your iPhone then.
HA It wont be dieing for me. I would never pick a iPhone over an android. Android so much more flexible and inventive in my humble opinion.

Tomorrow does not have an 'a' in it.
And no, the iPhone will not kill the Android no matter what carrier signs it. iPhones share the same traits as Macs -- pretty, easy to use, and nearly idiot-proof -- but the more advanced and adept users will always gravitate towards Android (linux) and Corporate users towards Windows.
Besides, iPhones to date have been overpriced and, like Macs, the only way you can run their OS is on their hardware. Android runs on everything from tablets to mp3 players to cell phones across a variety of manufacturers.
I mean, you're essentially asking if Betty Crocker Instant Mashed Potatoes are going to hurt the sale of spuds. The only real answer is a smack in the mouth.

she admitted if it weren't for the games and stupid little bits and bobs she was used to having she'd sell the iphone and switch in a heartbeat but alas not to be

HA! no support from the devs? Try owning a palm pre. I just ditched one for the new evo shift, and so far I am LOVING the amount of support for android
Please don't feed the troll!
you see now I never asked which was a better os......i stated that without support from TRUE developers making apps a OS is no Good. Android has a horrible market which rarely works. The apps are 2 year old ports from the iphone. As far as the pre i think it has the best os just horrible hardware.
Look at what Nividia showed running on the Tegra chips at CES.....1 year old PORTS of games that run on the Iphone perfectly.
Hardware is fine and dandy but NO SUPPORT guys. Its sad.
I honestly beleive once the iphone comes to verizon noone on BigRed will ever buy an android again. Atleast the common user. Well see soon. This is gonna be fun!!!!!!

This is just blatantly wrong, so go troll somewhere else -- there's lots of big-name developers on Android, including some from the iPhone world.
And yes, there's lots of garbage on the android market, but it does work. Don't forget that Amazon will be launching their cleaned-up android market this year too.
@burtcom actually your proving my point. please show me ONE app that they focused on the TEGRA chips that isnt on the Iphone??? Please name one? Also Amazon market??? Ummm where is it? Ohhhh its not here yet....oh ok Let me know when it is!
Please name me the developers on Android...... Netflix (not yet)...Gameloft (ummm old ports from iphone) EA.....ummm wheres madden? Oh still in beta?
Dont talk when you have no clue!
Oh and if there are games on Gamelofts site (the Ports) there made for the droid phones and the resolution is way off wack!!! But enjoy
The US is the last place that the iPhone hasn't been available on multiple carriers. The rest of the world has carriers with both the iPhone and Android phones competing directly, and Android is still doing great there. A Verizon iPhone will probably put a dent in their Android handset sales, no doubt, but there's always going to be a segment of the market that want something cheaper, or more powerful.
So no, Android will be just fine after tomorrow.
And apps are not the be all end all. They only matter so much to iPhone because it's basically just a glorified app launcher with a few apps bundled in. You can't even see the current weather without launching an app.
OP, you do realize that the iPhone is available on many major carriers in the the rest of world, right? Do you seriously think the US has the biggest cellphone market? (The answer is no. I'm telling you this since you probably don't know the answer.) Android is still growing at a rapid rate and taking up market share in the rest of the world. We shall see how the iPhone 4 does IN THE US when it comes to Verizon. If iPhone 4 Verizon does destroy the Android, then Android will die ONLY in the US, not the rest of the world.
So what if many apps are ported from the iPhone? Why don't you ask why those developers are porting their apps over to Android if they don't see the potential of Android?
Technically, Android has the best developer that no iPhone developers can compare - Google itself. Where did iPhone's Maps and Youtube apps come from? Which OS has the better Google apps?
you see now I never asked which was a better os......i stated that without support from TRUE developers making apps a OS is no Good.

You didn't ask, you simply implied that iOS is better. People here are just disagreeing with you. And most of your arguments are surrounding the game department of the iOS. What else do you have? Even if you bring some more things on the table, you still can't argue what I wrote in my first few paragraphs. Enjoy the iPhone. I honestly think it is a great phone, but I hope you didn't type your posts using the iPhone. If so, learn how to fully use your iPhone please, otherwise it would just be a waste, no offense.
When people keep talking about apps apps apps for iPhone, they are just talking about games. Really, ask any iPhone users what awesome apps they are talking about that aren't games, and they will not have an answer for you. Or name apps that also exist on Android. Netflix? Yeah, its pretty cool. But its not like its been out all that long for iPhone, and the video selection is pretty limited, AND it will be out for Android anytime now, since it was already leaked at CES.
Seriously, how many games do you need? I love playing games as much (probably more) than the next guy. And there is plenty on Android, and developer support is growing. If you need more games than available on Android, its pretty likely that you need to spend more time on other activities besides playing little casual games on your phone.
Besides, not all developers are in love with Apple. Look at Adobe and PrimeSense (the original developer of the XBox 360 Kinect controller). These are important players, that were completely turned off by Apple's need to domineer and control, and eventually gave up on Apple.
The OP implies that the only reason that not everyone owns an iPhone, is because they are tied to Verizon. There are plenty of people like me that have been on AT&T forever, but have no interest in the iPhone. AT&T customer for over a decade, and I've never owned an iPhone, and never will. If Apple had their way, there would be no variety in hardware, or how we use our phones. There will always be people that find these types of limitations suffocating and unacceptable. Some of us like to have the choice of more than one form factor (say a larger screen, or a smaller one, or a hardware keyboard), or to have a homescreen that isn't just a near-useless grid of shortcuts. It would be a sad place where only one device could exist. Luckily, things don't work that way, and there is always room for competition in just about any business. So with any luck, Android won't be going anywhere soon.
Sure the iPhone is popular. But saying an OS is doomed just because its not the most popular platform, and doesn't have the most games, then that's the same as saying Mac computer shouldn't exist either.
Android won't die tomorrow
But troll should die today
I don't know about others but to me a cell its more like a helping hand or what ever you like to call it. Atleast for the tech lovers like me. But we all have different ways of doing our day to day stuffs. Android appreciates and compliments that. That's why I will go for Android. For the level of freedom it gives you, not how many new cookies it have in the box.

Android Manufacturers are Underestimating Apple

It really doesn't matter what type of outstanding specs these guys put in the upcoming android phones, Apple's Iphone is the number one phone out there. These manufacturers have forgotten that it was Apple that brought the price of smartphones down drastically. You don't beat the number one product on the market by charging MORE for your product.
Now that Apple is on multiple carriers, Android cannot afford to make such critical mistakes. The recently announced prices on upcoming android devices have made me wait for news on the IPHONE 5. I will pay MORE for the number one phone, but damned if I'm going to pay MORE for a phone that doesn't even receive updates till the next model.
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one...
Yet you come here claiming that the Iphone 4 or yet to be release Iphone 5 is "the number one phone", by who's standard? Sales? Yes, Apple has an outstanding marketing department.
I agree the Iphone "can" be a great phone, once it is jailbroken... But the proprietary of the device will turn others away in these forum. You know your in an Android forum right? Get prepared to be flamed.
I am glad the Iphone is doing well, and I am glad the Iphone is no longer exclusive only to AT$T. Which in turn for us is a great thing. You will see in the upcoming months what Android smartphone has to offer. You'll end up having buyers remorse.
Personally I think you came in trolling and to see what kind of response (negative) you can get. Sad...

Besides trolling, what are you talking about?
Enjoy being locked into the Apple way and the constant cycle of not updating as you wait for jailbreaks.
And Apple never brought the price of Smartphones down... $199 on contract was the standard price for WinMo phones long before Apple. And they had expandable memory and removable batteries.
I would or could not ever go back to an iphone after owning a quality android phone. There really is no comparison in user experience
Trolling? No way! As I stated in a previous post, my captivate made me return my iPhone 4 TWICE. Actually, my captivate enables me to wait for the iPhone 5 to release, I don't need another phone right now.
I meant that the iPhone 4 is the number one SELLING phone out there. Excuse me for sounding like an Apple fanboy.
Yet, the fact remains, higher priced android devices will help sell more Apple devices.

You may not be a noob from a tech standpoint but you are from a business aspect. The iPhone outsells because of image. People are sheep - they want something that is spun in a certain way - Apple does the marketing for the one phone product they offer. Android doesn't have that luxury - it has 20 different manufacturers so there is not ONE Android phone to compare to the iPhone.
People buy iPhones because they see ads for one appstore, for one company, etc. it is simple and fits the simple mind. Price has NOTHING to do with it. If it did, no one would buy the higher capacity iPhones. Look at all the people that waited in line to buy the first iPhone - no product reviews, and no subsidy.... where is the price theory there? They buy them today on eBay for $800 - not rational - but supply and demand dictates - along with perception and the idea of being a sheep.
Just like the new commercial knocking Toyota... anyone that has driven a Camry knows that it is a plain boring car - it gets the job done though - but why does everyone buy it when there are better values? Sheep.

I agree wholeheartedly.
I think in the coming years we'll see the iphone go the way of the blackberry regardless of its lemming followers. Apple is constantly introducing new OS versions with hardly barely any significant feature changes. When multitasking was introduced, it absolutely destroyed any hint of speed on the iphone 3g. Yet, we've been multitasking with android since introduction on hardware that is just slightly faster.
With every Apple update, the older devices get slower, yet with every android update, devices that can run the update become faster, and more responsive.
Dell2,
In order for Apple to catch back up to Android in terms of innovation and feature-richness, they will have to heavily modify their OS, which in turn will force them to significantly update their hardware. If this happens (or rather, when Steve Jobs stops gracing California's judicial system with his presence every time somebody pulls the same **** on him that he pulled on IBM, and actually gets back to creating new product ideas) you will watch the price of the iphone skyrocket past the Android. When this happens, you will watch sales decline and Apple will drop out of the phone business.
Truth be known, aside from everything that Alphadog has said, the only other reason the iphone made it to 4 is because every electronics manufacturer and their mom started making their products with a proprietary Apple connector. Imagine if they hired a linux guy and started making them with MicroUSB?

Sales numbers don't make something better lol microsoft os's are not better than apple os's but out sell them and are the most sold os out there. Not to mention iphone gained popularity way before google released android and just has a huge fan base, plus popularity of the ipod helped out a lot to.
Don't get wrong I'm not bashing the iphone it definitely has a place in the market for people , old people who can't figure stuff out , middle age people who can't figure stuff out , teens cause they have to have what there friends have and noobs in general lol
Open source never gains the popularity that the big company's gain ( Linux for example ) but all power users will tell you the same thing and if you don't know what that is then you definitely belong with your iphone
And for those who get bored with Android, what the hell are you gonna do on an iphone , jail break it lol , get real lol

Petty remark made by someone who never has anything to offer? Shocking.
It must have saved google a ton of money to take bunch of code and programs that are already out there, compile it, and treat it as though it's something new and amazing.

Fixed it for accuracy
The stupid thing is, MS could have been market leader 5 years ago if they only took their mobile operations seriously. They never have and I doubt they ever will. They just needed a decent interface, a deal with a book wholesaler to supply their reader, a deal with a music reseller and an app store so they could have bought handango. To bad instead they chose to take a giant leap backwards.
In all fairness, when Microsoft actually recovers from that 2‰, Android will already be in a new generation. Motorola is but a fraction of the massive companies that are backing Android and they all are contributing constantly to better innovations for the OS.

But i hope the price will stay cheap as in the moment ^^ but with a market who google has to defend android phones get maybe cheaper too , cool for android and wp users ^^. Before the Iphone everybody look where i get the most features for the best price but today sm changed and i dont know what ^^ some answers plz
Software patents are the biggest load of **** I've seen in a long time. If you learn how to write, for example, a search algorithm in college and then use it in a commercial app, too bad if the guy sitting next to you in class has been granted the patent for it. Doubly bad if you invented it and weren't smart enough to get to the patent office before them.
Seriously Apple own patents for such inane **** as "method for interacting with a portable device via touchscreen" and "power management of portable devices". So watch out if you produce a touchscreen phone with power management. If you put any code in there which acts similar to Apples they will sue you sooner or later.
It's about as stupid as allowing Ford to take out a patent on having four wheels on a car.
I'm also pretty sure the Judges who hear these cases know so much about programming they can make informed judgements of these cases ... not. It's all about which legal team can spin the must bull**** to befuddle the courts.

28 percent of iPhone users have still not added even a wallpaper to their phones, over 90 percent of android users are still running the stock rom and im sure if the study was done you'd find that a large portion of them haven't done much more than add some icons to the homescreen and perhaps toss up a wallpaper. People as a whole by android because they're the free phones you get at most carriers. Your choices are either a feature phone, blackberry, or one of the 30 android devices they have up (or perhaps the one or 2 wp7 devices that they have there but most in-store carriers are still running those at 99 with a 2 year contract.) iPhones are a status symbol. I'll never understand how a phone who's only redeeming quality is pixel density and a junk filled app market (how many tap the trigger to fire a gun games do you need?) got that way but hey, apple is good at marketing. Microsoft wanted to build an OS that sells phones, not the other way around. They hit the nail on the head, unfortunately my toothbrush is more intelligent than the average consumer so well continue to see blind, stupid purchases until Microsoft either gets a marketing team that's not largely run by chimps or they saturate the hell out of the market like android has.
I'll agree about the average consumer in the USA being an idiot. It's clear that not many actually research a product before buying (especially like a phone that will be used every single day for around two years). Beats and Apple are perfect examples. But I just don't see MS ever catching up. Look at all the brands that make Android phones and how many varieties are out there. You're right, so that is why Android sells more because of vast selection. The selection on Android phones will continue to grow. The iPhone's popularity will inevitably grow. I just don't see any room for MS in the mobile market... Especially with the lack of marketing put forth as oppose to Apple and Android. Hell, maybe someone will see a commercial with the WP7 tiles and say "Hey, that looks cool, I want to check it out". But that won't happen, because they never see those commercials. I agree with what someone said before, MS just doesn't seem to put enough effort forth, just like before with Windows Mobile.

Wish they had.
There were some adverts for WP7 over here but they didn't last long, they may have been pulled by the ASA due to the false claims they made or due to lack of interest.
MS have even resorted to using the US version of their "We turned your front room into a W7 shop" rather than the short lived UK version.
The I'm a PC campaign (not the "and Windows 7 was my idea" ones) was really good, it didn't derride other computer systems like the awful mac/pc ones, so their marketting team can get things right, they just need a decent product to work with though and WP7 just isn't inspiring. Of all the smartphone users I know only 2 have WP7 devices. Over here handsets are often free, even the iphone so price doesn't really come into it.

It must have saved google a ton of money to take bunch of code and programs that are already out there, compile it, and treat it as though it's something new and amazing.

Motorola already had patents saved away for whatever reasons, probably saw this coming and it was an entrepeneurial decision to hold company value later. Al Google did was take info from a dying company and carry it on. Let's face it, If Google let Apple get hold of such info it would privatised and charged for, for many years.
Android is the only way forwards, Nokia were the biggest phone manufacturer say 10 years ago and now they're a distant memory. Apple were only successful because of compatibility within their network of products... people pay for convenience. Once other manufacturers adopt this policy then Apple has no advantage. I know Apple have a patent for technology where hovering your finger above the screen is sensed by the device and selects whatever 'tile' your finger is above. There's no call for it right now but in a few years? If Apple go bust in that time (I know, VERY unlikely) then it's this type of stuff they sell to stay afloat. What if MS bought such info? MS fanboi's wouldn't grumble
Microsoft will be an irrelevant company over the course of the next 10 years.

Anyone read this ?
I don't know where to start but suffice to say that his facts are wrong not least the one saying no new android phone can compare to iphone. Pretty sure the quad core sgs3 can.
Also samsungs market share recently overtook apples yet he says apple is way ahead.
Most of the report is factually incorrect opinion not news.

This is nothing more than opinion and partial facts/ incorrect facts. There is no doubt the iPhone/iPad sell better. There is also little argument that Android missed the mark with their tablets/tablet marketing. But in no way is Android dying.
I would counter this article with how long will iPhone users upgrade to the same exact device with the same non evolving software before they start to get bored? I couldn't bring myself to buy a 4 after my 3g because the device bored the hell out of me. I walked into the Apple store, picked up a 4 and said to myself why in the hell would I lock into two more years, they practically changed nothing.

I will acknowledge that Android is suffering terribly from the fragmentation issue especially in the arena where consumers want an "appliance" that simply does what it does. I think enthusiasts and developers in the Android world have great fun with all the aspects of tinkering, it appeals to our intelligence that we can fix things, improve things and evolve. Most consumers are not interested in tinkering.
Lol, this is funny.

He hit the nail on the head. The iphone carries the user friendly market, as long as there are techies(men) and those who simply don't follow the crowd android will thrive. I do agree that Google should implement some kind of OS requirements, as many devices that could be running ICS are not, but to the previous comment of I walked in and said this really isn't any different than the 3g...that is pretty much it...apple will be apple, android is at least fresh in this perspective.

It's at 5% of the market and growing. With 300k new activations daily, that means at least 15k new ICS devices are joining the market every day. Now that OEMs are finishing up the ICS updates, and releasing their new phones/tablets with ICS, that is only going to grow over the next few months.

Yeah, HTC bringing in $2.3 billion in revenue is floundering. Even with profits down, they still made nearly $200 million in profit for the 1st quarter. Given the success of the One series phones, that will probably go up this quarter. And Samsung markets phones for everything, and I'm pretty sure they mention Android for the Android devices.

I would say the Galaxy Nexus equals the iPhone 4S, and the just announced SGSIII will be the equal of the next iPhone in terms of hardware. Software, it is an apples v. oranges comparison. However, I have seen comparison tests that show it is usually faster or easier to perform simple tasks on the Galaxy Nexus versus the iPhone.

Unless the next iphone gets larger there's only so much you can shoehorn into a smaller form factor in which case apple customers could start looking elsewhere but as it stands there are a few android phones that could beat iphone including the s3 and optimus lte2.
But if android were dead then samsung lg and htc would all be failing miserably and their not.

My opinion is that Android is more secure than iOS. It is open-source, so anyone can look at the code (most of it anyway), find issues, fix them, and then submit the fix for inclusion in the next update. There is also SEAndroid being worked on by the same group that does SELinux. Apple is closed source, so when a problem is found, you have to wait for Apple to fix it. You can't tell when the fix will come, or if it will even come. Nor do you have the option to include the fix yourself, as there is no way to patch it without the source to build from.
Isn't the iPhone security able to be easily bypassed by anyone, regardless of the phone being locked or not? Android seems to be the more secure platform for most things from what I've seen, but I'm not a security researcher, so anything is possible.

The funny thing about this...which kind of invalidates everything he says, is that Samsung is running Android. I don't think Samsung has a single phone out right now that isn't Android.
"No one wants an Android tablet" No, it's just that the iPad has a name behind it. If not for that name, it'd be one of the worst selling pads on the market.
I think when the general population talk about the IPHONE they don't think of iOS but the Form factor of the phone. I also think that the general non techie population doesn't really know what Android REALLY is. This why every phone that's not an iPhone is considered a "Droid" to them.
Non techie people are seduced by the shiny and admittingly good design of the iPhone and as long as Facebook and Instagram works on it they are happy and they "love their iphone".

Wow :what: where to start. The incorrect " facts " . The overt Apple fanboy flare. The way he should've started is by saying, " all the information you are about to given is conjecture and opinion " . Well I guess that's why some people buy, Apple products. Then there are those that think, research, and make the smart choice, Android.

Its not that ipad has a name for itself, its that apple had a name for itself a long time ago. When the iPod came out it was a big hit. It then evolved into the iPod touch, which was alright for a while. Then they made the iPhone. Everyone was already hooked on apples products, thus not giveing android too much of a chance. Except for those who want something different, so they went and got an android. Slowly people are going to leave the iPhone cause they are going to get bored of the same old SH*T. Basicly the iPod is apples reputation. The ios is boring and kinda plain.
Who cares about what sells better? How about what performs better? And I know I would much rather be able to do whatever the hell I want with the phone like customizing, and tweaking the phone to run faster, and not having to pay for everything. And you can't even do anything on the computer without a jailbreak or being annoyingly restricted to iTunes!
IPhone sucks! ANDROID RULES!!!

This is quite simple to respond to. IPhone is for mainstream users, every friend of mine says iPhone is the best phone until I show them some android devices. We live in a world where all the crap which has an apple on the back is better by the eyes of people that don't even know what the market has to offer.
Another thing is, android is still growing, and iOS has much has it keep evolving, I believe it's pretty much that: a phone with the homescreen full of icons and with no customizing whatsoever; a phone that in my opinion gives a terrible user experience.
I'm no fan of Samsung devices but it's true they're doing a great job on expanding android.

[Article}Google has an Android problem

Didn't see this posted in the forum, but I thought it was an interesting read (not saying I believe it all though)

Google's got an Android problem
[/i]By David Goldman @CNNMoneyTech June 26, 2012: 11:46 AM ET[/i]
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- More than half of the world's smartphones run Android. That sounds like a pretty comfy perch for Google, but it's a precarious one -- and the historical tides that made Android such a stunning success are starting to swing in the opposite direction.
On Wednesday, Google (GOOG, Fortune 500) is slated to unveil the latest version of Android at its developers conference. Expect some victory laps. The four-year-old mobile operating system is the center of a thriving ecosystem, and Google has seamlessly integrated most of its key products into Android, including search, Gmail, Chrome, Maps, Voice.
That gives Google a prime position in the fast-growing mobile realm.
But Android's success is partially accidental. The software only took off when Verizon Wireless released the Motorola Droid in late 2009.
Verizon (VZ, Fortune 500) needed a weapon to counter AT&T's then-exclusive deal with Apple. It threw all its weight behind the Droid, which was the first true iPhone competitor on the nation's most popular phone network.
Kickstarted by Verizon, Android went on to become a strong iPhone alternative for virtually all other hardware makers and wireless carriers. Google's mobile OS held a 59% share of the smartphone market as of last quarter, IDC analysts said.
Android's climb is about to end, IDC thinks.

What I thought as well. From many articles I have read, the expectation is that there will be a slight dip in market share when iPhone5 is released then things will return to normal with Android maintaining its hold on the smartphone market.

IDC is naive in thinking that Android's climb is over. U.S. smartphone share just past 50% and elsewhere in the world there is even more room for growth. To count Android out of taking a cut in this is just stupid.
Android's success is no accident. One phone did not make Android a success. Google's business model did. It offered a free platform for device manufacturer to use. Even now, all other platforms either require a licensing fee or is not available for licensing. This is why Android is thriving.
As long as iPhones keep their hefty price tag, Android will always be around. I think many people are not willing to spend that much on a phone.
That being said, it's true that when the next iPhone comes out, Android may take a hit. The high end Android phones may lose a bit of their market share to iPhone 5, but that's about it. We've seen the same effect with iPhone 4 and 4S. So it's just gonna happen once again. Can't complain, competition is good!
rumours
I've seen more than one prediction that Androids climb will be slowed moving forward. Frankly I can see why.
Most articles like this also mention the rise of WP, which will be the wild card. WP8 has a lot of potential, combined with Nokia I can see great things moving forward. Honestly who doesn't want a Purview WP8 phone?
We'll see what happens but I see Android and WP duking it out for top stop in a few years. Couple that with W8Pro tablets.....
PS. Iphones will always be around, even though I'm sure their share will diminish greatly unless they pull one hell of an actual innovative rabbit out of their hats...
