Uk 3g xoom root/overclock fail - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, basically i wanted to root my xoom so i could overclock.
I followed a guide, flashed rootboot.img and it kept getting stuck on dual core screen.
I followed this guide to recover http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049901
and got it working as normal, i flashed the boot provided on the link.
Now I think its rooted, I am just so confused how to overclock. I was told to flash a OC.BOOT which i found on some overclocking guide but it did the same thing, stuck at dual core screen.
Need help on overclocking this as I am now so confused with the rooting, kernals, boots , roms etc.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thank you

[Q] Step by step to overclock the Vibrant with Pepperkake

Can anyone let me know if it is possible to overclock a vibrant running pepperkake, and if so how do I do it. I'm finding a lot of jumbled info, but nothing that really says: step one get x kernel, step 2 use x lagfix etc. I don't want to go through the hell of soft bricking my phone and restoring JFD then JI6 and then pepperkake to get everything back to where I started. I'm very familiar with using odin at this point, and just flashing update zips but I haven't even started in on Kernels and overclocking.

[Q] How to root TW 8.6.5.9 20110816?

I have stock TW_epad-8.6.5.9-20110816. I noticed a couple of ways to root older versions.
How about my rom version? Which way to go to root my TF?
I have the same issue, I had it rooted when it was 8.6.5.6 but when I did the upgrade and tried to reroot it with the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125714, the same instructions I used the first time, with the new boot image provided and followed all the same instructions, yet for some reason it is not rooting this time.
may i ask which updated version are you on? is it 8.6.5.9tw? and what happened to the TF after you cannot root it this time
also very curious to know if it's my firmware. I also have 8.6.5.9 20110816
I've tried countless rooting and trying to install cwm and flashing roms... I literally kept running into walls. So after some less doing and more reading, I am suspecting it might have something to do with my device itself.
Also, I read that it might be related to the fact I have the newer TF, B70K?
if anyone can confirm or relate, that'd be much appreciated
thanks

I successfully rooted my recently updated Tranformer using this method: http://www.todaytablet.com/step-by-...omb-3-2-root-with-one-click-for-windows-user/
I actually rooted my device with the same procedure. I learned about 8.6.5.9 20110816 twenty minuts later (doh!). This removed root of course. I re-rooted it using the same instructions and image I burned. Rooted once again.
Sucessfuly rooted and installed CWM and custom ROM

Flashed before rooting!

I have a problem. Instead of rooting my Samsung Galaxy S I9003, I flashed it, i.e. it was not rooted previously and I flashed instead of rooting and now my phone does not boot. However I can get into download mode.
Help Please!!
flashing doesnt require you to root beforehand... those 2 things have nothing to do with each other...
i would think that you somehow messed up the flashing process so please tell us exactly what you did to mess up your phone.

Rooting Nexus S

This is my first time rooting a device and I have the GT I9020T model will this guide work ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895545. It is a Mobilicity Nexus S and is running 4.1.2
It is outdated but it might work.
I suggest this instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1984858
That method is more simple and it works 100%.
Hey I need some help I am using the Nexus S running 4.1.2 i passed the drivers and unlock test but have problems rooting, when i get to the part where it uses TWRP it doesnt work and gets stuck there.

Sorry I dont understand my first time rooting or anything, how to I fix or complete the root?
Your device is unlocked and you have a custom recovery installed? If so, you're almost there. The only thing left to do is flash the superuser or superSU zip. Here is a slightly newer version of su

[Q] need to know what boot chain to choose

Hello all, sorry if this is in the wrong spot or if there is a thread on this i missed.. Im looking to root, unlock boot loader, and also flash to new rom.
I have done his some time ago, but a lot has changed since then
I need to know what boot chain or someone can tell me and send me a link to a vid they know works for this. I have read that a couple will then they were outdated and I dunno if they will still work.. I bought the Phone used because my old droid got stolen..
This phone is a
galaxy S III i535 running 4.2.1 with baseband i535vrBMF1 I have seen the bootchains for BLK3 and whatever the other two are..
I just need to know what boot chain to use.. If I just need to do a factory reset. or flash backwards then forward.. I have read a lot . please help this NOOB!! thanks to all this site is amazing!!!!
I wouldn't mess with flashing boot chains. People have had issues with hard bricks. This has everything in one easy package: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332825
Alternatively, you can ODIN a stock rooted image, take all the OTA's with rootkeeper installed to keep root, then unlock bootloader with EZ unlock 1.2. Make sure you use version 1.2 it's the only one that works correctly.
I'd recommend the first method, it's literally one-click. I usually use the 2nd method because I like to tinker.
