here's what I find amazing. Yes, this is the wrong section to post this in... but in stead of answering the question, all people do is say wrong section, which doesn't help at all.
if the question was just answered, the thread would be moved by a mod or buried. I know this is bumping which I'm sorry for. Just noting to let the mods do the modding

THANKS
Ok thank u very much

On 3g: can't do it.
On wifi: go into router config dhcp section add an entry for MAC address of the phone's wifi adapter into the static address table. Then the router will always hand it the same ip when it associates to it.
There. Question answered. Next mod to see this can move to q and a. For all the non mods if you don't know the answer to a question don't bump the thread by saying wrong section. Just go about your merry way and pretend it doesn't exist. It will disappear on its own if you ignore it. You are not mods and saying "wrong thread dude" is worse than posting to the wrong thread.

Mytouch Carrier switching

Greetings all,
Wondering if anybody have ran into a way to change provisioning , im currently on T-Mobile and would love to switch it to AT&T. Just havent seen anyone bring this up in the forums.
Thanks in advance!!!!
Apologize, posting in proper forum location.
I'm sorry but i fail to notice any link between android development and switching carriers...
I'm sorry but i fail to notice any link between having attitude and helping other members in this forum ... regardless of whether they've posted a question in the wrong forum...

Call T-Mobile and request a sim unlock code, takes 1 to 2 weeks to get it emailed to you.. You will not be able to have 3g working on ATT wireless. They have different frequency bands, but it will do edge.
Hope this clears this thread up and it can now be moved or closed!
BTW try posting in general for these types of ? or just a quick "google"

The very first builds of buufed were built on the HTC framework, so if you PM crunchy and ask for the last one build around it, you should be good to go.
Im real tired of everyone posting questions in the wrong forums. DO YOU NOT READ RULES AT ALL? you must be completely stupid cuz at the top a HUGE sticky thread says do not post Questions in this section. Im sorry for being so rude but you need to read or be banned.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=650
Andanyone can complain all they want about my post not helping, but why should we help someone who doesnt even bother reading the rules or looking at the sections before they post! Forums need order.

kinda beating a dead horse isnt it lol... ive seen hundreds of posts about searching b4 asking and it doesn't seem to be clicking. Maybe they should write a code that makes the forum automatically redirect someone to the search page when they click on the "new thread" icon lol... then in big bold letters at the top of the search page it would say "ARE YOU SURE THIS HASN'T BEEN ANSWERED ALREADY?"
the "RULES" also say "no flaming" so I guess you're just as guilty..
Yes I agree..and ban me to then. But people have got lazy and the forums need order it does not have now.

P.s this is a QUESTION for those who don't know !
If it were an answer it would be in development
You need a guinea pig? Why don't you give it a try and post feedback, seeing as this is your thread and you didn't put a [Q] in the topic.
Um actually no. was seeing if any one has messed with it before I did.plan on trying after I get off work..oh p.s this is in the q and a section, thought it was simple enough to figure out it was a question ?

Well, without the [Q], I thought it was an answer, seeing as this is the q and a section.
^^lost cause ^^
^ Insulting me now?
If yes, maybe I should've been more rude and not use smileys? If not, then maybe you want to learn how to reply in a way that doesn't appear as an insult....
And again, I thought this thread had an answer to the throttling.. I showed the thread title to another person and they said "did he figure out how to fix it?".
I'd imagine I'm not the only one that thought this thread had a fix.
Even if there was some1 out there who removed throttling they wont tell.. for what so T-Mobile can patch it... And it's network controlled

lol @ what this thread turned out
edit: read the link in OP seems it doesnt work after a couple months ago throttling is in full swing in 95% of areas, network side

How Do I Ensure My Inspire Isn't Emitting 3G?

i got my inspire 4g unlocked and working - finally! and i know it doesnt have 3G cuz its unlocked. but i want to make sure its not trying to connect to a 3G network and hence, drain my battery. is there a way to check that its not trying to capture a 3G connection?

trapzz I told you in a previous post actually how to do it. It is the only way I know to stay on 2G and not use 3g. Remember the code *#*#4636#*#* in your phone dialer, then select "phone information" then set "Set preferred network type" to "GSM only".
You should be posting Questions in the Questions and Answers section and not the General section. If you don't start posting correctly the admin will stop you from posting at all. Just trying to give you a friendly warning.

i dont have a handbook in front of me telling me EXACTLY where to post my question on the forum. i post my question in the most relevant place possible to the best of my judgement. i appreciate the warning, but seriously, this is the 10th time i have been told to post in the right section. and thats what i've been doing. i really dont understand why i cant post this question in this section. next time before i post a qestion, i'll ask you or someone else where i should place my question. this is really getting ridiculous.

You have been warned by plenty of people. I wont argue with you but will say you don't need handbook to tell you where to post. Its pretty easy to tell. The section named inspire Q & A should be all the direction you need.

Please post all questions in the Q&A Forums. Just think that by now it would make sense. Questions belong in the Questions and Answers forums, Named Q&A

I'm sure you watched the video and read the info when you first signed up correct?
Dev section is "supposed" to be a designated area where these mad wizards share their wonderful creations with us.
The post limit is intended to suppress the "I flashed your crappy ROM and it bricked my phone!!!" Newbie post. It doesn't always prevent that but...what are gonna do. Its basically for devs though. Questions, comments , general info all have there designated areas here...welcome check out the threads. Hope you enjoy your stay
