Sensation 4G backordered from customer care (611)? - HTC Sensation

I just ordered a new sensation through customer care (611) yesterday and they sent me a text this morning saying that it's on backorder. Anyone else face the same issue with customer care? How long does it usually take to get some back in stock?

I'm an employee, I ordered through employee accounts. I got a text a few hours after ordering and it said back ordered. I called and they said it was a mistake. I would call 611 back ask them if it is really back ordered.

I had the same back ordered message when ordering 6/17. But they then sent a message a liitle later saying shipped on 6/18!

Yep. This happened to mine as well. This was a common problem with the Nexus One, and it looks like HTC never figured out a way to make a decent lock button. I would kill to have an iPhone-style click to that button.
I'll send it in for warranty before the year is up. But my phone is unlocked and has the nice SLCD, and it would be a pitty to get some junky refurb in exchange. For anyone who has RMA'd HTC phones before: will they actually repair your phone's component, or do they just mail you a refurb?
I tried to get my craigslist 4g replaced through HTC and the Rep said they only do repairs

Hmmmmm well I called Ans they would inky do a warranty exchange and they are sending mine in I just thought it was funny how they were saying that most likely I dropped it and it was my fault and I was morelikely to pay like 250.....bull**** I take care of my phones so the Guy can suck it

I had the same issue, it was after my first 14 days and Customer Care would only send me a refurb. I went into the store where they sold it and showed the manager and he was just like "let's get you a new phone". He said the mytouch line has a special policy where they can do in-store only exchanges evan after the 14 day period.
Noooooooooooooooooooooo man wtf I went to a T-Mobile store and the manager always dodges me but they only told me to call customer service sucks ballssss

T-Mo won't do an in-store trade for a phone you didn't buy from them. For that matter I'm not even sure the manufacturer warranty transfers if the original buyer sells it.
i actually had this same problem..called care and they sent me a refurb device...

Did you call T-Mobile customer care or HTC customer care. And did you need proof of purchase etc
Called t-mobile cust care...no need for proof of purchase...i actually bought my mt4g under a different number but put my sim in it first so the warranty is with my number...

If you can read I am not the on hearing the echo. Is the person on the other end hearing themself echo when I have it on speakerphone. They say it sounds horrid and it was tested at Verizon they said it sounds terrible.

you dont need to get a referb. if you go to a corporate store theyll switch you out right there on the spot.

if you are outside your return window, they will refer you to get a replacement sent to you or you can call 611 and talk to a data tech support person and they will send you a replacement, but the stores will not replace it on the spot. they prob would if you *****ed and moaned for 2 hrs straight just to get you to leave... but their policy is to have a replacement mailed to you

I find being either a complete and total ****(which comes naturally to me) or knowing someone that works there solves the two hour problem. haha. I got an upgrade once when my phone died and wasnt insured. Didnt have to renew my contract or anything but walked out of there with a new phone. Granted, I cant go back to that specific store anymore, but I still got my way. haha.

That is not correct. A Corporate store will exchange the phone outright, if they have it in stock.

Probably just depends on who you speak to. I was in a corporate store yesterday and they told me they would not exchange it outside of the return window, and that I would have to wait for one in the mail. They had it in stock and everything, just wouldn't do it.
Same story. But the good news is when talking to them on the phone they said since the phone is only 3 weeks old that there are no refurbs yet just new factory replacement new phone just no box and battery and mem card. I'll wait till Monday and post if its new or and obvious shi**y refurb.

Well not that it matters as I'm pretty sure that this thread is dead, but I received my replacement today. The phone is in great shape no speakerphone issue, no dead pixels, all buttons are perfect. So anyone that has to get a CLN device don't panic it may be better than out of the box.

I was going to say the phone has only been out like what 3 weeks, even if it was refurbished I'm sure it wouldn't be beat to death.
I'd be willing to bet my own TBolt that you will not receive a refurbished device. It will be just the handset. No battery, SDcard, etc. I have never seen a refurbished phone actually be refurbished. They purchase devices w/o the packaging and included accessories from manufacturer's. If you choose to purchase a refurb, then you get sent an actual refurb but replacements are new 99.9% of the time. My fiancee was just outside our 14 days and needed her incredible replaced. They sent a brand new "refurb" and offered me $100 off my bill since technically I paid for a new device and received a "refurbished" unit. So basically she got a new dinc for free. Not to mention the TB is so new they wouldn't even have refurbs yet. Don't get upset till you get the device, I guarantee you will be happy with it.
BTW, for those arguing over the return policy. They will refer you to a repair center for an exchange. If your in your 14 day period however, you hold the power to either get an exchange or cancel out right so they will usually do the exchange rather than risk you getting pissed and returning the phone and canceling your contract. They'll make it as if their doing you a favor but in reality you are in charge during the first 14 days.

Yes it came without a battery cover later that night though the plastic rubber piece at the bottom of the screen popped out lol. What a joke this phone is they are sending another I hate this spending money on a piece of junk. I do love the phone but UK glad I signed only a one year contract. I'm not even picky I don't care about dust under the screen or light bleed though. But really a malfunctioning speaker and this one falling apart give me a break.

First time when UPS was about to deliver myTouch 4G from Tmo, the message on the website appeared after 9pm:
"THE PACKAGE WAS MISSED AT THE UPS FACILITY, UPS WILL DELIVER ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY"
The phone had some defects and a bad screen - I sent it for the exchange.
Today I was about to get the new phone, guess what?
The apartment number is missing or is incorrect. UPS is attempting to obtain this information.
I am about to explode!

yes it happens all the time you have just never heard of it happening before...
Nothing wrong here. Three replacements sent next day delivery all arrived as scheduled. I live in a house though, so maybe its easier for them to deliver it? It sounds like a ups issue, not a t mobile one...

Mine was just a replacement "withing first 30 days." I guess if this one is defective too, I would not want to play the roulette and will get Sensation.
Update: second mytouch 4g. One little piece of dust underneath the screen. I think I had it.
Where one lint, there will be another right?

I don't see how this is a problem. The MT4G is a premium product and something like dust under the screen I would consider DOA. This is still a 400 dollar phone buying from tmo

DUST SUCKS. In high light when you are reading or watching something on your phone it is absolutely terrible even if you have a bit of dust
I might be in the same boat as you. On my third warranty replacement in 2 weeks, and I'm getting a seriousl wifi death grip issue. Sucks so bad, because other than that I love this phone. Called T-Mobile and explained the situation to them, and they offered me a G2. wtf.

Agreed.. I have dust under my screen but in no way does it impede viewing the screen. It's something I've experienced with every device I've ever had, and I never cared.

Feels like home

So after 3 weeks of having an Amaze that went sour (that turned out to have a fraudulent IMEI) I'm back to the Sensation. Didn't realize how much I miss this phone!
BTW - The Amaze I had got a little dust under the screen. Not a lot, but like 2 particles. Just saying so because everyone has said the Amaze is dust-free.
Also the Sensation forums are just, well, nicer. Glad to be back. Feels like home.

I bought what I thought was a good/new Amaze off eBay. Worked fine for 3 weeks then refused to get a signal. After talking to T-Mobile support they determined that the IMEI on the Amaze was blacklisted due to a report of that being stolen. So they had turned that phone off from getting a signal. I emailed the seller on eBay and right away he told he would refund me the money and I'd send him back the Amaze.
Lesson learned.

T-Mobile just told me to try to contact the person I bought it from to try to get my money back. They showed no interest in trying to get it back to the original owner.

Anyone need a replacement top / bottom cover for their T-Mobile HTC One S?

I've got one of each (one top and one bottom cover) for the T-Mobile One S. They're brand new, never been used. Figured there'd be someone out there that's dropped a One S already. Purchased for my One S for that reason but I ended up going a different route. These just came in the mail today and I have no use for them.

You should call again, under our warranty we can get a replacement accessory for every accessory. The top cover is a accessory
