I have a few questions regarding the TV/HDMI Out capabilities of current android phones:
1. Is there an API for using TV-Out/HDMI in any of Android SDKs?
2. Is the HDMI/TV-Out buffer app-writable and is rooting needed?
3. What is needed code-wise to get a separate views to both the phone and the video out?
Thanks

Hi,
I've recently purchased the above however it doesn't seem to support a usb dongle. Is there additional software to support or modify the settings, plus I can't download apps from the android market or the apps crash everytime I try to install . I heard that a firmware upgrade is available but not sure where to get this from.
Any advice would be useful
Check this thread - it's in the android forum

Hi All,
I am new to the Android development scene, and was wondering if somebody could help guide me in the direction where I could download a set of specific API's for Samsung devices. The API's that I'm seeking are the ones mentioned in a recent article published on networkworld referring to 90 new api's to boost mobile management (I can't paste the URL in here due to me being a n00b in the forum).
Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

Doesn't the Android SDK include the Samsung specific files as "third-party addon"
Alternatively goto opensource.samsung.com and click on mobile > mobile phone and download the sources for your model

1. Yes
2. I think so. There is a thread on General subforum listing all the working dongles and how to do it. Check it.
3. Sort of. You can do it using the HW buttons on the device as if you were accessing the recovery. Check the thread on the Development subforum.
Regards.
1) Yes
2) No
3) Check the Ubuntu thread
Hello everybody,
I'm trying to develop an Android application in order to enable bluetooth tethering between two android phones without the need of root permissions.
I found in the market PdaNet as example..
How is it possible to create such an application?
Are there some API already present?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I'm not really sure that there's an API for that, but based on the much discussion about bluetooth tethering between two android devices, I suppose the answer is no.
if you get to a beta test fase (even alpha), count me in.
I have:
- Samsung Galaxy TAB 7.0 plus (GT-P6210) with original 3.2 kernel;
- LG Optimus One (P500H) with official 2.3.3 version.
both are rooted, by the way.
Any body please guide me if i want to develop android then what will i have to do i am new user of android and i flash android phones using software box
Welcome to the club!I guess there is no one simple answer since android as a whole is too much toabsorb for a newcomer such as you and I.Find what interst you the most about android(games, themes, nuts and bolts)google it or search this forum. For me it started with wanting a faster phone that led to rooting which let to themeing and so on.
